Old-fashioned Texas BBQ, home-made bread, cobbler, side orders, iced tea brewed fresh daily, down-home atmosphere, indoor/outdoor dining, free wi-fi.
Stopped here on the way to Junction. It is an old converted station with inside seating. The owner cooks and makes all dishes. We had the brisket, red beans, Cole slaw and potato salad. All was good. You also get a dessert and drink for one price. Worth a stop.

Stopped here for lunch and was in line behind two elderly couples. One person was at the cash register. Three other employees walked by and didn't go to the register. Stood in line 10 min without any action. Finally walked out and went next door to the Cafe Next Door", where three state trooper cars were in the parking lot. We immediately got service there

This was one of the few places open the night after Christmas, so we stopped here for dinner while passing through town. There were quite a few cars outside too, which is usually a good sign. The Cafe Next Door is a small, homey type of restaurant. There seemed to be many locals there. The menu had choices including sandwiches, salads, Mexican, and of course, chcken fried steak. I had the very tasty Texan Burger and a side salad. We didn't have dessert, but there was a case with delicious looking slice of pie. This café had good prices and is right off of I-10.

My husband and I ate here while traveling through based on trip advisor reviews. The food was more expensive than we expected as trip advisor had one $ sign on this restaurant. The second disappointment was the food had no flavor . I had a chicken and a beef taco and I would bet neither was cooked with any spice not even salt. My husband had the Mexican plate and his food was very bland as well Our waitress was very nice. Food was hot and came out quickly .

The only bar and steakhouse in Ozona. Nice selection of hand cut in house steaks pre seasoned and cooked to perfection. Also chops and grilled chicken that is quite tasty. Sides are on the small side for the big eater, but good wholesome comfort food. There is also a limited but satisfying salad bar. Remember this is West Texas, so if you are expecting Ruth's Chris or Morton's, lower your expectations accordingly. Texas friendly service and staff. Recommended!

If you catch yourself driving by Ozona in the morning, this will be a quick drive through experience for you. The menu is written on the wall and the choices seem endless. I order the Barbacoa taco and it hit the spot without all the excess grease dripping that you'd expect. The flavor of the meat was good and the flour tortilla was thick enough not to break while eating on the road. My dad said that he enjoyed their beef fajita taco on a flour tortilla. I would guess that you can't go wrong with a quick breakfast stop here.
It's not too far from I-10 and you can fill up with gas at a station on your way out. Happy Trails!

Traveling thru this city we chose to stop here based on the number of cars in the parking lot and ended up experiencing a great hamburger and chicken fried steak dinner. Their fries and onion rings are delicious. They cut their meat portions fresh every day and it shows when you taste their meat dishes. I recommend this place - has a nice menu.

Work here around Ozona/ Big Lake area and eat here quite often. I see other reviews kinda putting this place down on atmosphere, which is kinda true. The place could use a freshening up, but their food more than makes up for it. They don't just have Mexican food, but other items like. Spaghetti, chicken and shrimp Alfredo. Different kinds of fish and pastas. The spaghetti is probably the best I've had in a while. Must try the Spaghetti.

Ugh. We were driving from Marfa to Austin and really wanted a nice lunch spot. It was a Sunday so a couple of our top choices were closed.
We ended up at El Chato based on the Yelp and Tripadvisor Reviews (and a complete lack of other of choices). It is conveniently located right off I-10, literally less than one minute off the highway. Some might say the décor is "bright and cheerful" and others might say extremely tacky. We thought it was festive and kind of funny.
Sadly, the food was just not good. Even the ice tea was bad. Somehow, it tasted slightly like fish. That is why we decided to turn to beer and were told that they do not have a liquor license. You can bring your own alcohol in should you choose to do so.
No one at our table liked their food and at least one dish was not edible. The chips were OK, fresh, light and crispy. But the salsa was very runny and did not have an interesting taste. The quesadillas were literally sitting in a pool of grease and were very soggy. Even a couple of napkins worth of soaking up grease couldn't help them. The chili relleno was deemed to be not edible - heavy and tasting of rancid oil. We ate the fajitas but did not enjoy them.
Oddly, they only offer refried beans....no black beans or charro beans. This gave the vegan in the group almost no options.
The price seemed for high for the quality of food (we paid $50 for this awful meal).
The service was slow and sort of random. There wasn't one person helping us the entire time so it was very inconsistent. We had to flag people down to get a table service, extra napkins, etc.
We do not recommend this place and would not go back. I-10 is pretty desolate out that way. Next time, we will pack a lunch.
