Once the home of Robert Morris who gained fame as "Financier of the Revolution". General and later President George Washington was a close friend and visited Robert Morris often. In more recent times author James Michener outlined his famous novel, Chesapeake here and fell in love with our renowned crab cakes. Now the Eastern Shore's most unique historic restaurant with rooms under celebrity Chef Proprietor, Mark Salter and Ian Fleming.Enter the Inn and step back 300 years: a pristine yet historic interior welcomes with timber beams, panelled walls and open fires in the cooler months. Through to Salter's Tavern featuring historic red brick walls and old slate floors, with magnificent fires in the cooler months and offering casual outside dining on our Terraces and Veranda during balmy warm summers. This is a truly historic Inn, cosy with a natural patina running through. Friendly, great cuisine and understated professional service.
The menu was my favorite part, so many wonderful sounding choices made it hard to decide. If I sound a picky consider this was a $140 meal for two. The soups were good but not exceptional. Salads excellent and seafood entrees nicely done. Overall a bit salty but decent portions and very fresh. We were too full for desert but hopefully next time if we skip soup we can try desert. Our server was friendly and efficient.
What could use some attention is the furnishings. The rooms are charming with old brick walls and cozy booths however the booth seat had large cracks in the vinyl with foam exposed and the ceiling had warped acoustic tiles. Neither of these could be considered period pieces worth excusing the disrepair so really would benefit from an upgrade.

We have 16 flavors out at one time and they change all through out the day. We make over 700 flavors. Every flavor is hand crafted on-site.
Ice cream to dream about!!!What a great ice cream store. Ice cream is gelato style poured out in pan to stay semi soft! You can view all the luscious flavors.... and they let you sample... and no rushing. The ice cream is delicious and waffle cone is crisp and fresh. Located In quaint marina area. A real gem by the water.

Causal Fine Dining at its best!!! Creations by Chef David Clark featuring a Full Ala Carte Menu and Tavern Menu. Gift Card Sales Available!!
My wife and I visited St. Michael's on a cool and quiet pre-Christmas day and happily found a lovely restaurant, 208 Talbot. On certain weekday evenings in St. Michael's off season, the house offers a significant portion of its extensive menu as very reasonable "prix fixe" option. This significantly expanded our choices. Not too many restaurants serve duck since it can be a difficult dish to prepare well; but I often order it when the option presents itself. This chef's duck was my personal "Greatest of All Time," beating the honor held for many years by "The Duck Club" of Bodega Bay. All courses of the dinner were superb and the gas fireplace in the back dining room took the winter chill from the stone walls. I trust that I will return.

Celebrating 30 years of scooping ice cream in historic St. Michaels, Maryland. We serve ice cream, milk shakes, sundaes, floats, ice cream sodas, and homemade ice cream daily. Come visit our Famous Wall of Shakes!
We skipped lunch on a recent trip to St. Michaels and treated ourselves to ice cream here instead. It was excellent, and I was happy to find out that they don’t just offer cones. Our friends and my husband had ice cream sundaes with hot fudge. I had a delicious chocolate soda with vanilla ice cream. The friendly young man who made it gave me the can of soda so that I could keep adding more, and when I had diluted the liquid too much, he gave me another shot of chocolate.

Rise Up Coffee is about great coffee with cookies and other packaged pastry's offered on the side. In short, you would go there only for the coffee, which costs about $2 for a big cup. It reminds me of the numerous small buildings like this in the Puget Sound area that serve coffee and maybe some packaged pastrys. The place is a charmer. For one thing, Rise Up is open late and can provide that last cup of coffee to top off a meal. Their coffee is definitely of a superior sort and is certainly better than what is served in most restaurants in the St. Michaels and Easton area. There is no inside seating at Rise Up and I don't think there's even a picnic table available for sitting. So you know this place caters to serious coffee lovers, especially if you've had a big meal and some adult drinks beforehand. The barista operating the place is very friendly.

A community gathering spot for fresh loose leaf tea, tea inspired spirits and food. Come join us at the General Store in the quaint village of Royal Oak...a short drive from both Downtown Easton and Downtown Saint Michaels.
This hidden treasure has become our favorite restaurant! We had the most incredible dinner starting with their fantastic shrimp bisque, seared scallops that were amazing and ended with the most delicious creme brulle. Can't wait to go back to see what specials they have on the menu next time!

Set in a quaint 19th century inn overlooking the creek in charming Oxford, an "Eastern Shore Gem" is what Zagat and others call Pope's Tavern at the Oxford Inn. Come and enjoy Chef/Owner Lisa MacDougal's ernest New American fare showcasing the season's finest ingredients. Sample our hand selected wine list featuring 100 boutique wines, including many by the glass. Whether you choose the cozy dining room, the intimate private dining room, the waterviews from the porch or the comradery of the bar, Pope's Tavern promises to deliver a great dining experience. And, don't forget to ask about our lodging and dining special packages.
We enjoyed dinner for our party of four on a Saturday night. The dining room is not large, with a high tin ceiling and old fashioned decor. We were able to hear each other when speaking in a normal voice, which is not always possible in other restaurants these days. Our server was very pleasant and helpful, and we did not feel rushed at all. The food is good, but surprisingly this restaurant does not emphasize, or even serve, local seafood. I recommend Pope's Tavern for a slightly upscale evening.

Welcome to Bistro St. Michaels. We create food that is rooted in traditional culinary styles, yet modern. We source the highest quality ingredients, purchase sustainable seafood and work with people who raise their animals naturally, as well as partner with farmers for the freshest vegetables available. All of this comes together under the hand of Executive Chef Doug Stewart a native of the Eastern Shore, whose "creative American" cuisine is prepared with a classic techniques..Many of our items are already gluten free or can be served gluten free. Thank you for taking the time to dine with us. We hope you enjoy our inspiration. Rob & Caroline Pascal, Owners
The place is really cool and quaint. The food was delicious especially the soups. Service was upscale and professional. It is pricey. Once we were inside it was just another good fine dining restaurant. Nothing creative or special. Just very good food, good service, good ambience, just like you expect anywhere for the $'s. WE would make another choice the next time. Fine dining choice in a quaint fishing village? What was I thinking in the first place.
