What a great place for a relaxed breakfast business meeting. The menu is straight forward, the food is excellent, and the service was friendly with a smile. No pretentious specialty coffees or exotic breakfast meat combinations, just classic done well! The server let us talk for a while without the usual glare to get us to leave.

Heading back from Maryland, we decided to stop in the Oxford area for lunch. The Sawmill Grill was a good choice, Nice menu selections without being overwhelming. I had the Underdog Burger (lunch special) and my wife had a grilled chicken salad. Both were delicious and in ample portions. Service was perfect. Tap beer selection was not great, but there were plenty of choices on their bottle/can menu. Well worth a stop.

Don't be put off by the gas pumps or Turkey Hill signage inside. This is a multiple generation family owned and run store with a wide range of prepared food items along with a deli and grill and tons of fresh, in-season produce. I asked for the 'best breakfast sandwich' and they did not disappoint - the bacon, egg and cheese bagel was cooked perfectly. I enjoyed every morsel from the moment I unwrapped it and was hit with the bacon aroma until I swallowed the last bit of bagel. Only downside is they have limited bagel choices (plain/wheat) but you can also ask for sub rolls or a kaiser. The lunch special was less satisfying - the pulled pork BBQ came off a bit chewy with the sauce nothing special but a very generous portion and good quality meat and rolls. The deli will make cold or grilled sandwiches to order and the staff is very pleasant. One of the best parts about this place is the farm grows its own produce which is stacked in front and just inside the door along with baked goods and fudge, other desserts. Take an extra ten or 15 minutes to go around the right side, sit at a picnic table and enjoy the view of the valley, it is really beautiful. You could also go down the hill a piece and take in the scenery at the reservoir, which is clean and pristine.

We used to go to this restaarant regularly as it was one of the nicer places in town. However, recently it has really gone down hill. Not only does it look pretty worn (carpet, light fixtures, etc) it is just not clean. On our last visit our utensils actually stuck to the dirty, well worn, place mats. This place also used to have the best and coldest beer in town, a sign of clean lines and fresh beer. The last four visits, made pretty far apart, the beer has tasted awful (sour or just plain bad). Food is still very good but takes forever to come to the table. Servers are friendly enough but not very experienced or professional, look like they should be working at a fast food joint. This Ball & Thistle needs to invest some money and take steps to improve the cleanliness, beer lines, and service if it wants to regain our business - and we are not alone - our friends agree we are sad to lose what was once a nice place to dine and spend time together.

Cafe at Herr's in Nottingham, listed below:

http://www.tripadvisor.com/Attraction_Review-g53360-d103902-Reviews-Herr_s-Nottingham_Pennsylvania.html
good food, great atmosphere with all the chip business going on around. Love the whole story as to how the factory came to be with Mr. and Mrs Herr. Gotta love people who worked hard and made something of their dreams, they worked hard for what they have. Nothing given to Mr. and Mrs Herr. I only hope the kids and generations taking over will be as good to their employees and staff! Being kind and to appreciate your employees goes along way!
