La Parrilla Grill and Wine Bar is a Mediterranean eatery in downtown Oswego, NY. We take pride in using local and sustainable products, priding ourselves in the quality of our ingredients and our ability to cater to gluten-free, vegan, vegetarian and other dietary restrictions. Our consists of only Beer and Wine. We only accept reservations for parties of 6 or more, or for those "Special Occasions" life brings (birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, etc...). Our private party room comfortably seats 40. In the summer we offer outdoor seating.
Stopped in on a recommendation from a customer. I was there early (before 6) and there was only 1 table that was occupied by a couple. I say at the bar. Immediately I could tell the bartender Rachael was somewhat annoyed that I sat there & even more annoyed that I wanted a menu. Eventually a couple other folks showed up & did the same thing & she warmed up a bit. The food was great. The tomato soup with parmesan croutons was good except a little spicy. The soup was chunky & one bite had a rather large chunk of what I believed to have been a calabrian chili pepper which was a bit too spicy for my liking. I order the parmesan chicken & the chicken itself was fantastic - truly the star of the plate. The pasta however was beyond al dente, I couldn't even eat it & in fact didnt. I'm sure the pasta was a fluke. The guys in the kitchen seemed to be arguing with one another as well as with one of the waitresses, so I'm betting it got overlooked with all the emotion flowing in their open kitchen. If I were in the area, I'd definitely return & give it another shot. The others sitting at the bar that ordered food had gorgeous plates (sans pasta) that I'd love to try if I'm in the area again.

Beginning with the friendly greeting, knowledgeable server (Nick) and unique menu....the food was extraordinary. We shared a delicious house salad and the greens were fresh and crisp...the Italian dressing was perfect. We also shared the chicken sandwich ....pulledBBQ chicken on a bed of coleslaw....perfect blend of crispy, savory and spicy on a a quality roll.
Wish we had room for desserts because they look amazing...theres always next time!

Stopped here while camping on Lake Ontario. Surprised at the cost but fairly pleased with the food. I had the fried haddock sandwich. Had I known what they meant by making it hot I would have passed in that. Basically they but hot dog sauce and onions on my fish sandwich. I thought it was going to be hot sauce. Fries were great. I would go again but would definitely try something else.

We are a causal European style storefront bistro, specializing in comfort food with a flair. We pride ourselves in only using FRESH ingredients, available organic products, the best cuts of meat, and everything is made from scratch; every sauce, every dressing, every dessert. We use preservative-free food from its rawest form, and our seafood is wild-caught and additive-free. We have craft beers and a great selection of wine. We encourage a leisurely approach to eating, taking your time, eating in courses, and enjoying company and the conversation of family and friends. Come check us out and see what comfort food done right is all about.
We sat at the bar for drinks then dinner. The organic drink ingredients were lined up on the end of his bar for the bartender to create his masterful drinks. Our dinners were both varieties of fish and I would rate them 9.99 out of 10. Go to Bistro 197 if you get the chance.

Me and My wife stopped in during our stay in Oswego. It has a great location, with outside seating. We had a quick bite, the menu choices were excellent for bar food. We had the nachos and a Panini sandwich. Service was great, great beer list. We will defiantly return on our next stay.

While we thought the guacamole was very good, our enchiladas were just okay. Service was very fast - maybe that's part of the problem? Is the food prepared in advance and the re-heated? We'll look around for better Mexican fare in Oswego before going back here.

I have been hearing about this place for a decade and a half from Oswegians and SUNY Alumni. They all praised this family Italian restaurant. I will admit being from the Metro NYC area, I am a bit of an Italian food snob. The décor here is 1970's basement, low ceilings and dark paneling with a touch of musk. The menu was typical. All the staff was very friendly. I went with a sampler platter: rigatoni, meatball, sausage, and chicken parm. The sausage was dry and heavy on the fennel. The meatball was nice enough and the chicken parmigiana was good, but the rigatoni and sauce reminded me of an awful college age early morning eating pasta and sauce from a tin can. They have a retail store that ships nationwide. they have been in business for decades. They seemed to have a solid happy hour crowd in the bar and restaurant. Maybe its me.
