Excellent food. Tropical chicken and teriyaki chicken entrees were delicious. Both of us had the sweet potato fries and roasted brussel sprouts. You have got to try the Sprouts! Only complaint is it got busy so our waitress took some time to get back to us with the bill

We were pleasantly surprised with our first trip to the smokehouse in Osage. The food we had was very good including the brisket, smoked Turkey, ribs, and pulled pork. The choice of sides included a variety of good options. Another nice addition to the meal was the drink menu, multiple craft beers from Iowa and the Midwest. To top it off, the service was excellent. This restaurant is truly a treat for a town the size of Osage. We will gladly make the hour drive for a return visit!
To clarify, this review is listed in TripAdvisor under the "Taste" restaurant. It is like a two-in-one restaurant. Taste has one menu and the Piggyback Smokeshack has a separate menu. It is one large room with a divider in the middle which creates a smaller feel on each side. We sat on the Smokeshack side, but we could have ordered off the Taste menu too. While we did not order a dessert from the Taste menu, the cupcakes and cheesecake options looked delicious.

Being from California, we got a hankering for Mexican food. So four of us trooped across the street from the AmericInn and had dinner and margaritas. All was just great and the owners and servers were so nice and friendly. We were very happy, and not least due to the huge Margaritas.

The food here isn't the greatest (it's fine, just nothing to write home about), but the point of eating at Stan's is the novelty of eating at a non-chain drive in.
It was busy when we pulled in tonight, but we still managed to get a spot. In addition to the car parking spots, there's also five or six picnic tables near the parking lot. The servers keep an eye on the picnic tables, and will come out to take your order whether you're in a vehicle or sitting at the tables. We've found the service to be quick, not only with taking our order but with delivering food and retrieving the tray when we're ready to roll.
We all ordered cheeseburgers. They're "okay". It's pretty obvious the hamburger patties are frozen rather than fresh. They are cheap though. We also ordered cheese balls. Good, but I can only handle eating a few of them. The best items are the malts and shakes. Delicious! I had the hot caramel malt tonight, but I've also enjoyed the chocolate shake. Next time I think we'll just order shakes or malts here.

Coming back over the years to visit "home" always meant getting a pizza from Caseys at least once. Its quick and easy to order and only few minutes drive to pick up.

We ate dinner tonight at Flat Pie and Red Eye. It's located on main street in Osage.
We arrived around 5:00; the restaurant was busy but not packed. It's a casual eatery where diners seat themselves. We sat down, and our server came over right away to take our drink orders. Although our server was very attentive our entire meal, we did have to wait quite a bit for our appetizers (30 minutes after ordering) and the main meals (45 minutes to an hour after ordering).
The menu is typical sports bar fare: sandwiches, burgers, pizza. There is a salad bar too. I ordered their broasted chicken special, which was three pieces of chicken, potato wedges, cole slaw, and garlic toast for $5.99. The wedges were excellent, the garlic toast was very good, and the chicken just okay. It was a bit greasy, and the pieces quite small. My kids and husband ordered a cheese pizza, and I tried a piece of it. Excellent! It was really good. Next time, I'll stick with the pizza.
The decor is neat, sort of an old fashioned rustic vibe. The ceiling is made of wooden planks, and the women's restroom has a unique water spout for the faucet.

Same menu as all Subways except they had discontinued the sriracha. I'm thinking I could not live in Osage if they can't support the best sauce on the franchise menu. Nice folks. A bit slow compared to the other Subways but everything is slower in a small town.
