The locals recommended it, so we tried it. Great donuts and friendly staff.
The donuts are made fresh every day (of course) and the recipe they use lends itself to light, fluffy dough- and not so sweet you can’t eat them.
The favorites of ours were the maple bar and apple fritter :)

We were long-time customers of Thian's and Thian Thai. But we stopped going a few months back because we were shorted on an order (the portion was about half-size) and Thian herself said "that's the portion we always use". Which simply wasn't true. We were taken aback by it and - for a while - decided we'd go elsewhere.
Because we missed Thian and the people there we just went back a week ago and ordered our usual dishes. It was then we realized that the restaurant had been sold.. Anyway we ordered our usuals - including Pad Thai and because my wife is Celiac we order the Pad Thai gluten free. Understand that you pay EXTRA for that. It's not prepared that way by default. This time on a lark we ran a test on the dish to check for gluten content (we have the Nima gluten sensor - google it). And the test returned that it was NOT gluten free. Which of course meant my wife couldn't eat it.
The service and quality are not what they should be. And when you say something is gluten free you make *DANG* sure it's gluten free or remove that option from your menu.
At this point, since Thian is gone and since our food wasn't Gluten Free as promised, we simply have no reason to ever go back.

Surprisingly excellent food at a good value. Everything was delicious. The salmon was amazing. The steak was great. We even got a pizza to go. And most of all, the service was fantastic and authentically friendly. They were extremely accommodating, helpful, friendly and efficient.
If you are passing through this area - this is a really good find.

Gravity Coffee is just as you enter Orting. Is a drive through but welcomes walk ups too. I like that it next to the Bicycle Path, does have a picnic table. Enjoyed a very good Cookie and a hot Mocha on a cold day.

The food here is delicious and authentic, and our service was prompt and friendly. The one thing I would say is that it seemed like the restaurant was somewhat overstaffed--a lot of the servers were just standing around most of the time we were there. Two of the servers (probably about high school age) were acting a bit unprofessionally--braiding each other's hair in the restaurant (ew?) and constantly changing the music that was playing. Obviously this did not contribute to the quality of the food, but it made for a somewhat odd environment!

I had been looking forward to going to Hop Jacks for a while. It's a small, local chain in the "Applebee's" motif that is expanding quite rapidly with new stores popping up in different locations around the south sound. We decided to try the original location in Bonney Lake. It is rated high on Trip Advisor and many of our friends had liked it.
We went during Happy Hour (4-6pm) so as to avoid the bigger crowds and higher prices later on. Ordering off the Happy Hour menu was still expensive. If you are looking for more than fries or soup, then expect to pay at least $7-8. If you order 2 per person, you'll end up spending more than if you had ordered off the main menu.
My strawberry-lemonade was good but at $5, it wasn't quite worth it.
Food was average. The rib tips had way too much fat and not enough meat. My daughter's quesadilla was covered with cheese slime (apparently to make it appear fancy) but it turned into a gloppy mess. French Onion soup was tart and bitter. Even the tater tots were sort of bland.
Service started out fine, but then we were apparently forgotten once the food arrived and the waitress never checked back until our meal was over and we went too long without drink refills. At least she apologized.
Considering that the final bill was over $50 for only the three of us, value isn't one of the words I would use to describe what will likely be our last visit to Hop Jacks for a while.

It’s comfortable and nice looking inside. Family friendly and across meridian from Target in South Hill. I really enjoy the salads and chicken sandwich here. Get ready to stretch your jaw because they are huge! My husband has had the burger here but said Red Robin’s taste better for the same price. My son had the pasta and loved it. So, I would go here for everything yummy except the burgers.
