Located on the corner of Marsh Road, Maru Okemos features a full sushi bar, cozy seating in a hip ambience to match the modern Japanese dishes.
I went for lunch recently.with friends during a workshop break. The presentation is jaw dropping beautiful and at a table of 10, there was not a single complaint. People reached across offered, shared, and tasted different dishes. I had Mahato rolls and it was beautiful and delicious, I was afraid the pico de gallo would be too spicy, so the server suggested it could come on the side. It did. It wasn't spicy. The server answered all questions and brought extra chopsticks, forks, ginger, etc The decor is on the sleek, clean lines look. In summer the outdoor area is a pleasant spot to eat. While the portions were large (or enough for two) the prices were around $15 for the rice rolls.

Authentic Indian Cuisine
When we went to this attractive place for dinner, the patrons were a large Indian family (which usually inspires confidence in the food) and a lot of university students (which often indicates low price). The food was good, the quantity enormous, and the prices low. When I visit Lansing again, I'll be back to Swagath.

Dusty's Wine Bar features fine dining in a relaxed "Wine Bar"-Bistro atmosphere. Award winning wine spectator wine list. Next door is the the the Tap Room, your local neighborhood pub and on the other side is Dusty's Cellar for retail wine, beer, specialty foods, pastries and gift baskets.
I've been lunching, brunching, and dining here for 20+ years. I've seen changes of manager, chef, staff, menus, and always feel like it's a celebration to be here. The newish brunch menu is terrific. I had porkbelly hash with poached eggs and my spouse had the short ribs and egg crepe. The food not only tasted terrific, the presentation was excellent. Ditto the Bloody Mary's which I always order mild. BTW, I like the booths better than table seating, but other people might feel differently.

A number of local beers on tap. Good sandwich and salad selection. Grilled blackened chicken was great. Wife had a southwest salad which was very good. Pub atmosphere. Can get very crowded ( tons of people coming in after sate basketball finals and big waiting line). We thought it was well worth the visit.

Just came home from another excellent experience at Tannin. This definitely is the best restaurant in the Greater Lansing Area. My daughter and I shared the chef's tasting menu and it was fabulous. Our service was very good as well. I really don't understand people's complaints about the atmosphere. We always sit in the front room with the bar, and although the atmosphere is not lush, I find it to be very comfortable. The menu is very interesting and I give it high marks on using ingredients that are fresh and seasonal.

This is the 3rd visit to this HopCat location. The poorly managed location is living off blind adoration of its excellent beer selection. The vestibule was swamped with water. The waiting area has a had couch in it with no-legs for at least 6 months, and it was also dirty. The hostess mismanaged my table lead-time by 36 minutes. So much for their fancy I-Pad program intended to seat guests.... Recommendation- go somewhere else until they hang a signout side that says -retrained by Detroit location or better still (but painful) the UM HopCat Manager is now in charge.

My wife and I split a shrimp burger challah, which was very good. We also split the harvest salad, which came with a ricotta spread on toast points. The toast points were very good. The salad was ok, but the buttermilk dressing was bland.
There were a number of different and interesting items on the menu. We would eat here again if we were in the area, but would not make a special trip.

The State Room Restaurant is one of the premier restaurants in Greater Lansing featuring casual-upscale American cuisine, 500 bottle wine list, Michigan craft beers and a sophisticated lounge.
We ate at the State room for a recent birthday. Choosing an entree is difficult because they all sound good. Some restaurants are mostly variations on the same theme with a couple of exceptions. The state room has interesting and great tasting variety. I haven't had a bad meal there. Service was efficient and friendly, although the previous time we were there about 6 months ago the server was not good-several errors. A couple of things to keep in mind. Thursdays, bottles of wine are 1/2 off and for birthdays the celebrant gets their entree free.

Sansu has great sushi and excellent bento boxes. We also love the side salad and miso soup. It is our favorite Japanese restaurant in the Lansing area. Interesting fact: The "tatami room" is not taxing on the knees.

The Okemos pie shop opened in November 2000. The shop is located in the upscale Meridian Crossing Development near Stillwater Grill and Starbucks. The owners like that the GT Pie Co. Has a family feel, rather than a corporate feel. A comfortable atmosphere awaits customers who come in for breakfast, lunch, dinner, gourmet coffee, take-home food, or just for dessert. Don't forget about our dessert menu that includes Gourmet Pie (fruit and cream), cookies, muffins, apple turnovers, apple dumplings, brownies, lemon bars, and carrot cake, to name a few. All are hand-made from scratch daily. Call us for delivery of lunch/dinner or any special catering needs. We have sandwich platters, large salad and fruit bowls, box lunches and dessert platters available. We look forward to seeing you at our shop in Okemos!
I had a wonderful bowl of chili and an apple turnover for lunch. Both were very tasty. The staff was very friendly, however the cashier moved on to the next customer (two or three times that I saw) before completing our transaction. For example, I ordered, he gave me my cup for my drink, I paid, but then he moved on to the next person in line and I had to ask for my turnover. He did this to my friend also. I think he just wanted to get everyone taken care of quickly. I will definitely go back to try them again though!
