The atmosphere is "lively"; sports on several TVs in the bar area. The acoustics make it seem a bit noisy but nothing unpleasant. The servers are friendly. My biggest criticism is that the alcoholic beverages have gotten much weaker since the chain was sold. I've ordered mixed drinks on several occasions ad different times of the day and they always seem a bit rather light on the alcohol. The food portions are large and you definitely get your money's worth. All in all, I enjoy eating here.

Went with two other couples, Staff sporting Halloween costumes as were some patrons. Delighted to watch Batman and Cat Woman shaking their booty on the dance floor. Should have gotten names of entertainment but did not, Was a twosome male and female. Male also played guitar as well as sing with his female partner. These two were great and played to a friendly crowd. Restaurant decorated with orange lights and all you would expect for the holiday. I had greens and beans and grilled chicken with hot peppers with sides of veges and penne with marinara sauce. Spouse had eggplant parm., salad , greens and beans . Spouse had beer and I had wine,Bill was $ 48.69 before tip. Food was wonderful ! Friends had spagetti with meatballs and chicken parm., etc. Our waiter was surprised that we all(seniors) cleaned our plates. We smiled and told him we were all professionals! I had a great evening as I am sure all of my companions did Loads of selections.

Rene's is always thought of for it's excellent fish sandwich and while this is true it is also true that there full menu of Italian fare is absolutely wonderful. Saturday nights is two dinners for $20.00 and the menu choices are excellent, if you are in the area or out of the area treat yourself you won't be disappointed.

This place has a BEST fries and is a definite stop on your visit to Kennywood.
Granted it is staffed by teenagers who only half know what they are doing, but they will make your fries light, regular or darker - based on your preference and there are tons of options - flavored salts, cheeses, ketchup, malt vinegar, mustard, more!
Great portions and decent seating.
Just watch for cheese on your seat ;)

My wife and I have been to Shelly Pie 3 or 4 times after a movie. It is a casual, family oriented Italian restaurant featuring outstanding pizza. Even the small pizza is huge, chalked full of wonderful flavors. Their appetizers and entrees are excellent as well. It is BYOB, beer and wine, with modest corkage charges. The wait staff is friendly and efficient. The restaurant is very good at accommodating large parties. For a casual dinner out, it is a good choice!

Nice Dairy Queen but if your spending that much on a blizzard make sure the cup is full of ice cream! Got 4 stars because DQ is good but don't short me please.

This is another McKeesport survivor. Back in the 1970s, Minerva Bakery anchored a fourteen block stretch of fine urban shopping. Almost all its former neighbors are long gone, but family-owned Minerva is still there, an island of cheerfulness in what is almost a ghost town. When I walked in recently after decades away, the smell of my childhood greeted me like one of Proust’s madeleines. They don’t sell madeleines here, but, even better, every day they bake the kinds of cookies that are a Pittsburgh area tradition. You will also find pies, eclairs, bread, rolls, and fancy decorated cakes. Everything is made by hand and the selection varies daily, as well as seasonally. Come early in the day if you want something special. Items sell out. You can park right out front, which is a good thing, because the neighborhood is worse than iffy.

We lived 20 minutes away , thanks to SM , we finally get to visit Braddock , a Steel town that has been on the decline , SM is a gem that is part of an effort to revitalized this industrial town . We were able to make a reservation same day , we passed by a ghost town at 7 pm ( hardly anyone on the street or any shops opened ) , suddenly there were cars parked all over this building. , an renovated car dealership . The decor is modern , with loud music at the door . The friendly hostesses greeted us , told our table not ready, the placed was packed on a Thursday night , we sat at the siazable bar , the bartender very friendly and offered us a good selection of wine and beer . The manager Chris ( whom we knew years ago when Umi was opened and was away in nyc till recently )came over to greet us and very nicely offered a table on the quite side( away from bar ) of the restaurent , that side was also packed. . A surprise to run into him after 20 years ! Sarah the waitress is polite , knowleagable and offer us the regular menu and the 36 Dollar three course restaurent week menu . Two of us decided to order 7 appetizers instead , the place is warm ( some reviews said too cold ) and service is timely and efficient ( some reviews complain wait too long for food ). The food came out 2 /3/ 2 with 15 min in between , perfect set up , so we can enjoy . The wine/ beer/ sake list is very appealing . Ocean trout tartare ( citrus taste opened up the appetite, my wife favorite ), octopus ( soft , tasty ) , rice cakes ( prepare like a gnocchi , interesting sauce , ok no our favorite ) , crab ( beautiful presentation , with nice sauce ) , fried squid ( very tasty , not your usual deep fried variety , citrus appeal , my favorite ) , pig face ( like a crab cake with tender pork meat and truffle ) , black mole ( mini ribeye , grilled med rare to perfection , sizzling hot ). Coconut desert to share . A few glasses of wine , the 2 hrs experience is very enjoyable and food is fantastic. . The bathroom is very environmental friendly. , the hand dryer right at the faucet with no paper towel necessary ( very thoughtful ). Chris took us back to meet the founder Kevin Sousa( the kitchen is sizable) . Kevin a legendery chef in our town , we have followed his career in last 20 plus years and is a great fan, he is innovative , understand complex ingredients and is super friendly . This place deserved a 41/2 star , the food is 5 star , just the decor is interesting but appropriate for Braddock , but not 5 ⭐️star in my book We wish them success and plan to be back with friends and family

The food is always good and the portions generous at this property. The staff is helpful and efficient. The specials are spot on and the fish is amazingly fresh. The pizzas are simply enormous and could feed a small town. This one is worth visiting several times.

Istanbul Sofra has a casual, fresh environment with paprika and cerulean walls, colorful menus and sparkly hanging Turkish mosaic light fixtures. Outdoor seating on busy Braddock Avenue also is available, weather permitting.
Eastern Mediterranean cuisine has been a favorite of mine for over forty years and Istanbul Sofra does not disappoint. First off, the moment that you walk in the door, you are treated politely and respectfully. It is impossible to not respond in kind. The menu, which is affordably priced, has typical mouthwatering fare from falafel, humus and babaganouse as appetizers to kabobs (either lamb or chicken), stuffed eggplant, or expertly prepared sea bass for an entre. While trying the delicious looking rice pudding is on my "to do" list, I haven't been able to resist their baklava (spoiler alert: plan to share it with your dinner companion because the portion is enormous). So if you, too, love Turkish cuisine or want a fantastic first time experience, what are you waiting for? You didn't want to cook at home tonight anyway!
