We have had about a dozen dinners at Evergreen as it serves healthier options than most and is midway between my daughter’s home and mine. Last night convinced us that it’s time to try other (plentiful) restaurants in the area. The waitress was the rudest I’ve encountered in years. I was moved because the ‘better’ table was for a reservation. She wanted to take my order before daughter arrived and when I asked to wait, the attitude popped out. I had to flag her down for anything we wanted after that as she would not check on us at all. The food also disappointed. The salad used to be veggies and beans plus a protein on a bed of lettuce. Now it’s mostly lettuce with a bit of veggies thrown in. I could go on, but you get the idea. Won’t be returning. On a positive note, the kombucha was very good.

The owners and staff are French. The pastry sells out every day so always fresh. Recommend the Pear Tart. Staff is friendly. Recently visited late PM before closing (4:00 PM) and do take out salads. Excellent. Definitely a must visit if you are in Venice

Fabulous breakfast and lunch served in a quaint "Key West" Style House...unique breakfast fare. Give us a try!
What a delight. The interior decor is an the name implies, cottagey. The dining rooms are small so tables are quite close to one another. Upon arrival the hostess estimated a 15 minute wait however it turned out to be more like 30 minutes. There is very limited waiting area inside so everyone congregates outside. I would not advise going on a Sunday as the majority of people were dressed like they just came from church (we also encountered this last Sunday). I would recommend trying it during the week. The breakfast menu is rather extensive and the lunch options also looked inviting. Service was great and portions quite large. Would recommend the potatoes rather than grits (they were very good). Will definitely go back.

Great local place for always freshly cooked food. The 1/4 white chicken, fried chicken, chicken strips burgers with amazing sides. Today I tried the Smoked Meat Loaf, very good. Has a smoked bbq taste and was cooked perfectly. The bad thing it’s the Mondays special and it runs out fast, so get there early.

Suncoast Cafe in Venice, FL offers a place where you can dine comfortably and enjoy an amazing view. Breakfast is served ALL DAY on Sunday, and until 11am every other day. Join us for a dining experience like no other!
We stopped by for lunch after seeing their ad on a board on the sidewalk just before crossing the Circus bridge. It made us wonder if they are having trouble attracting business. That was not the case as the restaurant was full. With the open kitchen, and talkative cooking staff, it is a noisy place. On the positive side, my Cuban sandwich was quite good, and my wife enjoyed her tuna fish sandwich. She was not impressed with the chips that were a side to her meal, so the waiter brought her some delicious french fries at no charge. Our waiter, Jordan, was very pleasant and provided good service. However, somehow, our bill got combined with another one, and a $26 bill became $121. They claimed they corrected the problem but the charge has showed up on my credit card account. I expect to get the problem resolved, but should have never happened, thus the reason for rating.

EGGS-TRAordinary Breakfast and Lunch Cafe is located in Mama Leone's Plaza. Serving Breakfast and Lunch all day. Hours: 7am to 3pm EVERY DAY
Everything here is first rate. This breakfast and lunch restaurant is in the same building with Mama Leone's. I have Berry Crepes and my friend had lobster bisque at noon on Saturday. There was a very short wait. We all licked our platters clean except a couple who took home boxes. The sandwiches are large and can be ordered with soup. If you have room for dessert, that is excellent also. And all this for under $10 per person -- drinks are extra but the Bloody Mary was worth it.

We stopped in for an icecream after dinner and before a theater performance. It was our first visit and we were impressed with the large variety of flavors, types of cones, and the variety of unusual already prepared frozen treats...for example: chocolate covered frozen bananas and icecream sandwiches. There was a special case filled with interesting items! We live fairly close and will make a point to visit again.

We discovered a real little dining treasure during our first visit to Venice, Florida!
(We wished we'd planned a little longer visit, so we could have enjoyed this delightful French-inspired family café again...and again!)
The "Upper Crust Café & Bakery" is a memorable destination, with it's amazing and reasonably priced menu of crepes, scones (with generous servings of clotted cream!), Eggs Benedict (even offer Crab Benedicts!), large omelets, pastries, and a full menu of many other mouthwatering items. The wait staff was friendly and very attentive, and, as we learned, are family members/owners of this wonderful café.
With the cafe's very French inspired décor, starting with a large chalkboard sidewalk sign outside the café entrance, to the many ceiling crystal chandeliers, lace curtains/faux wood shutters inside, the large glass front sidewalk pastry window, and their overflowing glass case of mouthwatering bakery goods as you enter the café, it's seems like you've walked into a wonderful French bistro.
Can't recommend the "Upper Crust Café & Bakery" enough...treat yourself, and, ENJOY!!!
