Newcomerstown is a village in Tuscarawas County, Ohio, United States, 85 miles (137 km) east-northeast of Columbus. In the late 1770s, this was the largest Delaware Indian village on the Tuscarawas River, with 700 residents. Chief Newcomer (Netawatwes) was the leader of the western Delawares here, and they called the village Gekelmukpechunk. Early French traders and English settlers named the village Newcomerstown after the chief. Soon after the start of the American Revolutionary War, the Delawares moved west to Coshocton, about halfway through what is now the next county.

I was looking forward to writing this review. Having grown up in the area, I love visiting and supporting local businesses. The wine bar, service and knowledge is great. I would recommend stopping in for a wine tasting. If you are hungry, drive across the interstate to Lava Cafe or drive 13 miles down the road to Roscoe Village.
The website is out of date. When I made the reservation, I said we were coming for the brunch buffet. We had a large party for a special occasion. When we arrived, there was no buffet. They do have a regular menu and a kids menu.
Our server came to the table to take drink orders and waited 30 minutes to take our food order. We expected a small wait because we had a larger party (that they knew about ahead of time). It took an additional 45 minutes get our food.
The menu isn't anything special. There are options for every diet. They advertise a salad bar. By salad bar, it is a bowl of iceberg lettuce and small containers filled with cheese, tomatoes, cucumbers, olives, 3 salad dressings, one type of soup, bread sticks and broccoli salad. Not a bad option, but it's extra. Every meal comes with the dessert bar. There are a variety of desserts.
We had younger kids at the table. An hour wait to eat was entirely too long. The server apologized multiple times and then just avoided our table as we watched everyone around us be served. We didn't order anything that was time consuming. The kids ordered pancakes and waffles. They were served hard. You could tell they were under a heat lamp for a longer period of time. I also walked up and asked to speak to the manager and suggested that they please bring out the kids food as soon as it was ready. The manager came to the table and again continued to make excuses. No apology was every given. I felt worse for the people around us that had to hear the restless kids.
The surroundings were pretty. The restaurant overlooks the river.
It's too bad that the service was horrible and the food wasn't great. This would be a great location for special events and larger family dinners.
I will never eat here again. I am saddened by the fact that nobody tried to make it right. Even with a slow kitchen, the staff could have tried to be a little more helpful.
Before you go, ready the "poor" and "terrible" reviews online. They are accurate.

Great gem in the middle of rural Ohio. About 15 minute drive off interstate 77. Little restaurant/bar - looks rough from the outside. But we had the most amazing food! Order the prime rib or country chicken special on Saturday nights. Homemade potatoes/noodles. Just a few seats so arrive early. Homemade food well worth the drive. Check it out. Reasonable prices. Nothing fancy, just delicious. You won't regret it.
Visited the small restaurant/bar recently with family. Not much to look at from the outside. An old square building with parking out front. The inside isn't much to look at either. But the food/service are out of this world - excellent. Each Sat night, there are prime rib and/or chicken specials. Try one of them or both! Both were incredibly delicious - homemade. We had baked potatoes and homemade noodles - both excellent as well. The service was very good. The portions were huge. We took home leftovers. Get there right when they open. There are not that many booths and it fills up quickly for good reason. Its in Stonecreek, Ohio near New Philadelphia, Oh. You can get there off of Route 77 which runs through Tuscarawas County between West Virginia and Cleveland, Oh. Definitely check this place out. You won't be disappointed.

Very good pizza! Good customer service, a little pricey for what you get but well worth it if you're able or willing to not mind a little higher price.

Home-style cooking that will stick to your ribs. Great salad bar. Magnificent pies. Fast and friendly service. Very clean and can handle large groups or parties. I have been eating here for years and the food is consistently good.

This place is so very unique! The restaurant is in back of the facility, there is a small market and deli as well. So much pop history on the wall of this place. It will bring you back in time. My wife and I spent allot of time looking up at the ceiling covered in record covers reminiscing about the records our parents owned and would play. The food was good, nothing too fancy but very good. Our server was very kind, recommended the specials and was very kind to our daughter. A little off the beaten path but if your in the area come on over and check it out... It's the next best thing if you're hungry and don't have a time machine...

This is a great little Chinese place that's perfect for carryout. The food is always good, but ambiance in the restaurant itself could use a little love. Service is always good.

The food at Terry's isn't bad, but the service is it's undoing. We have tried to meet on our lunch hour here for the buffet, but end up spending 10 minutes waiting for pizza to actually be on the buffet. Then you almost have to race to get there before the other people who have been waiting as well rush to get their food too. It is crazy, especially when guests are on their lunch hour.
Also, the times I have gotten carry out for dinner I've stood their waiting while staff take care of their children (who are back in the kitchen area).

I was staying next door at the Hampton Inn and popped in for a quick burger and fries.
Service was quick, and my special requirements for toppings were met with ease (usually I have challenges at Wendy's getting what I want at other locations). I ate in the restaurant, and the dining area was very clean and well lit. The washrooms were also very clean and well maintained for a restaurant that gets a lot of bus traffic.
Overall, a great Wendy's location.

We arrived here late at night after a long time on the road. Decided just to get some hot sandwiches. The staff was really friendly and the service was fairly fast. The food tasted like it was home made and was really good. The portions were large. The prices were reasonable. The restaurant is located inside of building that is shared by a truck stop and another store, located beside the super 8 hotel. Don't be put off by its location, it is definitely worth a stop.
