Come and enjoy the region's most exquisite culinary experience. Executive Chef James "Buddy" Rushing has designed a unique menu with all of the chop house staples and a constantly evolving special menu featuring the freshest local ingredients. Our restaurant also features a full bar with a wide bourbon selection, a craft beer selection featuring national favorites and ambitious local breweries, and a beautiful wine room stocked with wine from all over the world.
We live hundreds of miles from this restaurant and think that it offers one of the finest dining experiences available in America. Heretofore, any time we knew we'd be passing Mount Vernon on I-64, we have tried to be there at suppertime so we could go to the Rare Chop House. It's expensive--too expensive, our view--but the food and the service are invariably excellent.
I should mention that my wife and I are parents who took our children to fine restaurants when they were very young. But we also taught them how to behave and set strict limits on their behavior. Therefore, we are not anti-kid in fine-dining environments. But we also believe that parents have strong responsibilities to keep their kids' noise down, esp. in high-end restaurants where other diners are paying a bucket of bucks to be there.
We had a recent experience at the Rare Chop House where parents AND restaurant management resolutely ignored shrieking children for almost the entire 90 minutes we were there. It occurred in the 8-9:30pm time frame on a Saturday night. Our two-person tab, including tip, was about $130.
Unless we see or hear some evidence that management at the Rare Chop House will take action to require parents to get their out-of-control children under control, we will not return on a Friday or Saturday evening. We believe that this restaurant's management should be explicit in informing parents with small children PRIOR to seating them that shouting, shrieking, running around, etc., will result in the entire dining party being asked to leave. We are not going to shell out this much money to have our eardrums semi-pierced by the inaction of irresponsible parents and somnambulating restaurant management who refuse to take appropriate action.

What a great barbecue place!!! I had the pork rinds to start, cracklings, and they were amazing! The hot sauce was a great dipping sauce. I had the brisket which was the best I’ve ever had. I highly suggest this place, great service and great food!!!!!

Group of 7 , one time 8 another ate dinner here..Ended up the last thing we did as no more time..If you have all day to eat good place to eat and talk and talk and talk..PORTIONS much smaller than before..counted 22 fries most smaller and over cooked..thought it was remanents of what they had left..All were a little disappointed..since then we have all been meeting elsewhere..Too expensive for what you get..food was cold, and some orders were wrong..Rather than wait AGAIN we got the stuff down and wanted out..No refill offered. I used to buy gift cards for my customers to eat lunch there as i can't take them myself..Usually 10 $10.00 each time i visited..Can take it off as busines expense..i don't do that anymore as too many people say we don't eat there, and one near St Clair is too far but thanks anyway.. Couldn't give cards away..Service and quality has gone down and prices seem to go up.. GOING TO PRICE YOURSELVES RIGHT OUT OF BUSINESS!!!...We recently got together and there was 11 of us and NO ONE wanted to go back to Bandanna's..found a new place for birthday get togethers..11 is a problem for servers anyway as tables coming available and WAIT time would probably run into the NEXT BIRTHDAY...

Ate supper at Cr Barrel in Calvert city KY. Sat.10/21/17 service was good..food as usual was small portions and when ordering, Oh were out of that..i said it says NEW ITEM, yea we always rub out???If it is POPULAR order enough from the suppliers that you don't run out..same thing happened last time i was there..muffins were hard and wished I hadn't got them...one tablespoon of gravy on spuds???guess there is a shortage, you never know what is going fast..should have run into the place and ordered fast, maybe would have gotten 2 tablespoons???Can't buy good ole fried chicken in Cracker Barrels as they just have chicken tender meat, cheap meat...

It was convenient to the hotel or we wouldn’t have gone I’m from Minnesota and they are all mediocre. The salsa that looked bland and like a can of crushed tomatoes was actually quite tasty. I had the agave burrito which comes with your typical rice and refried beans was flavorful. We got the pitcher of margaritas for $10.99 which tasted like powdered mix and no tequila. Service was nice and fast although I asked for no sour cream and it came with 2 big dollops on top.
All in all it was better than the average restaurant of its type

Found this place by accident and shocked to find out it had been here for years! A great discovery! Food was awesome! Very happy to find such good gyros in Mt. Vernon. I'll definitely be back.

The service was friendly, very good and fast, and the food truly delicious! My friend and I split four spring rolls. She ordered a shrimp-veggie-and-white rice entree and I had the amazing 12-piece Lion Roll. It was beautifully presented, fresh and tasted amazing! I couldn't believe the large number of different items available on the regular menu plus loads more on the two-sided specials page! We only saw one server who managed to keep almost a full restaurant happy! This is an incredibly good restaurant that is reasonably priced as well. The interior is roomy and displays just the right amount of decoration without feeling cluttered. Ali's location is in a stand-alone corner building and there's plenty of parking on the lot.

Hadn't visited for some time, but went with another couple. Good service, food came out promptly and hit, a good meal.

Located off a little off the interstate, Bugsy's is a great stop for travelers. Instead of getting stuck at the usual fast-food restaurants that Mt. Vernon offers, families will love the reasonably-priced and authentic Chicago Dogs. The fries that come with the dogs were made out of locally grown potatoes, and they tasted amazing. The service was quick, and the cook/owner was helpful and friendly!

First off good food good service! Had the ribeye was tender with good flavor. The service was the best i have had in this town. Not sure if they are compensated better by there employer or if they figured out good service usually means good tips. Was very satisfied all three visits hope to make it back next year.
