We had to travel to Massanutten to take care of some business. So on the way home we took Route 11 and drove through New Market. I have heard reviews from friends about this place called Southern Kitchen. So we decided to try it. My daughter ordered the plate of chicken tenders my wife ordered a Turkey sandwich that was covered with gravy and I ordered a hamburger. For dessert I ordered the coconut pie. I will say the food was average. The burger itself was good but the bun was a little cold like it had been sitting out on the counter and open-air for a bit. What I stop there again probably but I would not go out of my way to find it. I will say the pie was good as an Old Timer setting the table next to us and he ordered it with his meal and said give me a large piece so I asked him and he said the pie is really good and it was. Safe travels

In the past 4 time we've eaten here the service and food was FANTASTIC. So for our 25th anniversary we decided to celebrate this special day with a meal here. Only one other person was in the restaurant when we arrived. The service was slow at best, our salads came out and less the 3 minutes later our meal came to. The bread was burned on the bottom, just not what we've experienced in our past visits. These made a special not so special when it came to our meal. I'm not sure we would ever go back or recommend Sal's ever again.

We went here on a Sunday evening. Great outdoor seating area and the food was outstanding all of it!! We had the pulled pork, chicken and ribs along with slaw and baked beans. Wish we lived closer to it!!

We ate dinner one evening at Denny's attached to the Motel 6 where we were staying. My wife originally refused to eat at Denny's, but in the evening, it was the only restaurant open. We were in for a surprise. They had a very nice selection on the menu and the food was very good. The service was friendly and very capable. We ended up having breakfast there the next morning. And we actually looked for and ate at other Denny's in our subsequent travels.

In business since 2005, the Woodstock Cafe has become one of the anchor tenants of this beautiful, Shenandoah Valley, historic town. Serving excellent coffee, panini sandwiches and bountiful salads, the Cafe also features one of the best retail wine selections in the region. Open seven days per week, the Cafe offers Sunday Brunch and live music every Sunday. Gourmet wine dinners and cabaret style entertainment dinners are scheduled for select weekend evenings throughout the year. An annual selection in several categories for Virginia Living Magazine's Best of Virginia issue, the owners of the Woodstock Cafe recently added an additional Restaurant (The Other Place) adjacent to the Woodstock Cafe.
We stopped by here while visiting from out of state, only to find such a wonderfully quaint little area in downtown Woodstock. The shops have a lot of little odds and ends, gifts, oddities, and handmade specialty items. The cafe had a nice seating area that was very peaceful and charming. The food looked great and, although we didn't eat, we ordered one of their home made "apple" cookies and it was FABULOUS! The best cookie ever and we shortly wished we had bought more of these for our trip. Great place for families and couples!

Came here with family. We ordered burgers, the nightly special NYStrip steaks and a chicken salad sandwich, another of the specials. We ordered our burgers medium rare and they were spot on. Very flavorful and juicy. The Bryce burger comes with choice of cheeses and I added grilled mushrooms which we flavorful and plentiful. I ordered a salad as my side and it was huge and fresh with lettuce blend, tomatoes, cucumbers, croutons and onions. The house made ranch was very good. The coleslaw had a light dressing on it so the flavor of the cabbage came through. Those who had the steaks raved about them. The chicken salad was huge with good flavor. We shared the peanut butter cheesecake. Generous slice and of so good. Our server was Miss Nancy. What a gem. Friendly, helpful and attentive.

We were given a gift certificate and stooped to try it. Yea it was great, it is soft serve ice cream at its best. We both got sundaes, mine was chocolate ice cream with butterscotch topping and whipped cream. Very good. This is not a full blown restaurant, it's a stand in the parking lot but it has tables to sit and eat. They don't have a huge selection os flavors but do have a lot os toppings so you can create some great selections. The best part was we didn't use all of our certificate so we get to go back.

The West Main Street Market has a nice selection of homemade soups, salads and sandwiches. The pumpkin soup was excellent. The dining area is small but was homey,

Locally owned in a very small town. It does have a Facebook page and is superb!
Picnic style barbecue, done in the bay of an old firehouse, cement floors and picnic tables set around inside the bay that looks out to main street. BBQ with lots of flavor and many sauces to choose from. They pile the meat on!!! always enough for 2 meals.
