Over 30 people in line when we got there but our wait was only about 10 minutes. There were 4 or 5 girls working the windows and everyone was served very promptly. Almond Chocolate Coconut is my favorite but the wife always get a sorbet.

Everyone loves free (well especially my husband)! This places offers five complimentary salsas and queso with chips. I only wish our local Mexican places did that! Service was super prompt, our main dishes were good, and our meal was affordable. I'd say it was a win all the way around.

I adore Starbucks coffee! So many great choices...but a Toffee Nut Latte is my favorite. Their banana bread makes an excellent snack too!

Superior independent coffee house located just off downtown Monroe. This big Victorian mansion boasts intimate nooks and crannies for drinking coffee, studying, or meeting. Alice Jules hosts artists and musicians, and supports local artists by giving them space to sell antique jewelry, candles, pottery, and books. The coffee is much better then the stuff you get at those name brand stores. I like the strawberry smoothies. The only place where Alice Jules falls a little short is in the food department - very small selection of pastries and chips, and nothing is made on site. But for an enjoyable afternoon of relaxing with a cup of java, this retro shop rules. Closed on Sundays.

Visited Matthew S's restaurant today for lunch. I had the shrimp and grits and it was delicious! Used to live here and have always appreciated Matthew's culinary skills. So delightful to visit his new (to me) location and enjoy his delicious food!!

We were in town for an event at Lee Park Church. After the event I checked TripAdvisor for a restaurant. Mexican food was #1 so we went to #2, Hathaway's Fried Chicken. Great chicken, home fries, mac and cheese. On my next trip to Charlotte, I will probably schedule a stop for chicken.

Best restaurant my wife and I went to in the area. Great BBQ you can't get out of your head, with huge portions, and at a great price.
Our thanks to Sarah, who waited our table. She couldn't have been friendlier or more personable. She also knew a lot about the menu too.

My wife and I stopped here for an early dinner on the way back to the NC mountains. I had the Ruben and my wife had their Turkey sandwich with cranberry mayo, lettuce, tomato and cheese. I also ordered an iced tea. The sandwiches we're quite good however the tea was extremely weak. In fact it was the weakest tea I can ever remember being served. The other negative aspect of our dining experience was the server although friendly needed additional training regarding the menu and what substitutions could be made. The restaurant was clean as well as the restrooms and the tables were not sticky nor greasy. Prices were reasonable.

After traveling extensively and eating "world class burgers and exotic foods," Dukes takes top honors. The wait staff remember you even to the point of bringing you your favorite soft drink without hardly asking. Great team work, smiling folks, and an honest well prepared burger. This place defines happy workers, smiling faces, and an owner that appreciates his customers. Nice to not have to listen to those all important phone conversations while eating. I could almost make a meal out of their small crunchy ice in their soft drinks and they are quick to refill them. Just a great experience.

Having read the local stories about this little restaurant, husband being a pizza lover, had to try it out. Stopped in for lunch and had the special. Wasn't very busy, did wait a little but not too long. We ordered the lunch special, 1 slice...MoreThank you for your feedback, Noisettiana! And yes, we do offer free refills with a purchase of a fountain drink. We apologize that was not made clear upon entry from the waitress. We do hope you will reconsider retrying us in the near future!
