We'd frequented The Back Porch years ago, but moved out of the area. What a treat to have gotten to return for a memorable Thanksgiving Day meal, with our parents - everything was wonderful, from the excellent and beautifully presented butternut squash bisque soup, and the salad of mixed greens with walnuts and a fresh and delicious dressing, to the sliced roasted Turkey with all the trimmings, all exceptional, and to the wonderful creme brûlée we all chose for dessert! The restaurant is in a lovely old restored building, which feels warm but elegant and welcoming, and the waitstaff are attentive and knowledgeable. Our family had a truly great time being there for such a delicious meal - we can't wait to return again!

I haven't been to dine, but I can say we normally sell fundraisers and such through them for cheer. BUT I cannot believe how I was just treated by Lynn Rockwell in the parking lot next to Bartons Bakery. Apparently that is her lot and she owns it and if you park there to pick up your flowers with a toddler in tow she will honk her life away at you. I made sure to pull out for her, not quick enough though. I told her it was very sweet of her to rush me so much especially since I was barely in my car when the honking at me began. And then she came to my car telling me it was her lot not Bartons and that she needed to get to work so I needed to move. Funny thing is there were definitely other spaces. Needless to say if an owner treats someone that way out in the public I can't see how they have great customer service in their own industry. Very disgusting with the amount of disrespect shown.

Sure! I can find better food and atmosphere in other places. But when I go back east and visit my hometown, I always like to stop for lunch at Hill's. I always order the same thing, gnocchi. Call it tradition, but I like it a lot. On this particular visit I was with my partner who said their hamburger was one of the best he'd ever eaten. He's eaten plenty of burgers so I have to guess he really liked it!
The prices are very good. I can always count on a good meal. And I usually run into someone I know. So its a very pleasant experience for me to stop at this neighborhood gem.

My wife took me to Lenzi's for dinner last night. I ordered the hot Turkey sammich with a mound of smashers all covered in gravy. The bread was thick texas toast, and the white meat Turkey was sliced roughly 1/4" thick. My wife ordered the Philly cheese steak which was also a monster sammich. For dessert I got the butterfinger pie and the wife had the French silk. Those two pieces of pie had their own zip code. The photos don't do these items justice, you have to experience this place for yourself. All of the food is fresh and homemade.

The wings are delicious especially when Daphne makes them. She puts in the right amount of extra effort that makes the wings perfect. The pizza is magical you won't be able to stop eating it.

Excellent place for baked goods & delicious pierogies and ravioli. Have tried others local so called "home made" but theirs are the best!

We stopped in for lunch yesterday and were impressed with the interior layout. We were greeted by our waitress very quickly with menu in hand. The menu has a great amount of options, as they say, from soup to nuts. Since we did not have hours to spend we went with the all American favorite, cheesburgers and fries. Our orders came and the food was very good. The service, food, and cool interior is great! The only fault for us was the portion sizes. The burgers were small, the larger order of fries was big enough for one, and $5.00 for two glasses of soda was a bit much. The cost of the lunch will not break our bank but when I write a review I compare the establishment to other's we have visited. Please understand that this is a great tavern but not really one that we will revisit. Our fav remains the Beach House in Finleyville, just a few miles away.

My 1st time at George's! Looking at the posted reviews and my current dining experience, I must agree with the very good comments about this establishment.
Our party tried the gyro dip appetizer (the sauce is a winner), along with jumbo fried shrimp, pork chop, lamb kabob, and delicious soup of the day.
If you enjoy hard cider try their on tap Arsenal Cider.

This is a family owned coffee shop in the middle of town. It is a welcome addition to the historic downtown area. The people are very friendly and eager to please. I ordered a Caramel Macchiato and the barista asked if I wanted it Starbucks style. She then explained how she usually made it so I could choose. Prices are much more in keeping with the small town location. A small coffee was priced at $1.06. My mid-range Caramel Macchiato was around $3.00. They have some pastry items but we did not try any.
They have a web-site so you can check and see when they are having music or other events. There are comfortable chairs as well as some tables. It is just a nice cozy place to sit with a friend and catch up. They sell their roasted beans as well as a few local products, such as honey from a nearby farm.
If you like to help out local small businesses, give them a try!
