So I have to admit this was the only real brunch I had on my trip because I was here for work. But I had a little extra time one morning so I drove up to grab a breakfast that wasn't a protein bar and whoa... Awesome and so worth eating my meal while driving. Yes, I had the banana macadamia nut pancakes with coconut syrup while stopped at red lights as I drove back to work and it was 100% worth it. The potatoes were some of the best I've had too. I can only imagine how much better it all is when actually sitting at a table and relaxing!

We love going to this restaurant when we feel like going somewhere a liitle nicer but where we don't have to drive far. It is right in our neck of the woods. We love simple dishes like mushroom pasta. My husband loves the house salad and the dressing. Good to make reservation or you may wait as it usually crowded. Also recommend getting the large portion as it is not much difference in price and you'll get much more food.

Its a Hawaiian tradition you must experience!!! Simple fried dough a Malasada morphs into something amazing. Plain, with cinnamon, or filled they are simple delicious!!! You must take a break from driving, head into the shopping center and spend a short while at the food truck enjoying something heavenly!!!

My husband likes their chicken... I like the portuguese fried rice, fried udon, beef unchoi and twice recently ordered the shrimp tofu.
You will get either mac salad or rice depending on your order.
Their fried saimin is popular and people order pans of it for potlucks or parties.

Every time that I go to Hawaii, I always make a point to eat at Zippy's, and it's usually multiple times at different locations throughout the Island! I find the food is very good and reasonably priced. At all their various locations, the quality is always consistently good. I wish that there were Zippy's on the mainland, but it's only a Hawaiian thing! The style is Hawaiian with a little Asian thrown in. If you're visiting Hawaii, you have to check it out!

Average poke, sometimes not very tasty. Their other food is great! Good variety! Yummy food. Pricey.

Wanting to hit something quick on this end of the island, we found this place for a quick drink and an appetizer. Finding it take a map and looking in the back corner but once there, we were happily impressed. 36 different beers on tap and a great happy hour menu make for a perfect stop. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful and getting you local flavors!

On a drive from Waikiki to North Shore last week, we stopped to explore the neighborhoods of Mililani and found Nagoya Ramen & Bakery tucked inside a strip mall. Their baked goods looked wonderful, but we were hankering for an authentic Ramen set for lunch and they did not dissapoint. The chicken Katsu and pork Gyoza were both excellent. The shoyu stock was flavorful, ramen noodles al dente. The ramen toppings were average: A hard boiled egg instead of soft and the sliced pork was okay. All in all, an excellent food adventure and it was nice to get away from the crowds in Waikiki and experience a local's favorite. The prices were very cheap. We treated ourselves afterward to a shaved ice two stores down.

You have to wait a little while for take-out, but we were happy with our combo meat jun and spicy chicken plate (with plenty of sides you can select, in addition to the two big scoops of rice). For $13, it's a huge plate -- no complaints!
