Poetic Breakfast, Literary Lunches, Daily Specials
I've stopped here for several breakfasts and lunches. Every time, I have someone say Hi and proceed to hand me a menu and not rush when I'm reading the Specials board.

Hopping side of the road donut shop in little Wallingford makes racks of donuts to entice. However after sampling old fashioned cinnamon sugar and glazed raised donut, I would advise going straight to the jelly. A thin crispy layer drenched in powdered sugar surrounds a fluffy tasty raised donut and delicious strawberry jelly. Absolutely Divine!! Not to be missed!

we go there a few times throughout the year. good thing is they open early spring and stay open into October. Prices are ok, wide variety of treats. Parking can be a little bit cramped when busy. sometimes better to park at plaza next door and walk to Les's,

Outrageous Hickory Smoked BBQ Joint and hot rod food truck. Real Pit, state of the art Smokehouse.
Went here with my father when they moved into their current location as I had never been to the other one. Can defusay I was missing out. They have an outstanding pulled pork sandwich. Great sauce, tender everything you expect from amazing BBQ. The staff is pleasant and friendly. Well worth the visit will definitely be returning!!!

One of the two best places on rt.5 to stop and have breakfast or lunch. Between Ricks and Dads you can't go wrong. You try them once and you'll go back again and again.

The eggplant grinder is spectacular!! Good food, good price, what's not to like? Family of 4 for takeout for less than $60!

This is a Meriden delicacy which is only available in a limited number of restaurants in the Meriden area. The original restaurant is Ted's and K LaMay learned his trade there.
Steamed cheeseburgers are very different from regular burgers and you need to understand that going in. Being steamed, the meat is an unattractive grey color so don't look under the bun. That being said, the taste is terrific and it is all in the cheese.
K LaMay uses an excellent cheddar with a clear and sharp bite to it. It is certainly something to experience. Additions to the burger are your choice, but I like only a bit of mustard so as not to take away from the cheese taste.
The restaurant itself is rather run down and offers no bathroom facilities for customers. One warning: do not take a steamed cheeseburger out. The cheese will get very gritty as it cools so it must be eaten promptly after it is prepared.

We made sat night reservations on Friday for 6:30 for party of 4. It was 7:15pm and we had to keep asking when our table would be ready. Finally we got seated but in the bar where it was so loud and people all around us. Would think that these tables would be kept for walk ins. We were expecting a much more enjoyable evening. Food was good ( Tuscana salad was excellent) but when you can’t even have a conversation - why bother.

This restaurant has the best and the freshest Mexican food that I have tried in the area. I have been here over a dozen times, for take out and to eat in, and I have never been disappointed.

The restaurant was small, but it was neat and clean. The place also felt very homey. We ordered the Potato Pie, which had signature thin crust that we had never tried but found it delicious! The staff there was also very friendly and helpful. If we ever travel there again, we will definitely go eat there!
