We were staying nearby and checked this out based on a recommendation. We had a nice table in the back room which was somewhat private (although, we could hear other conversations easily). Our server was friendly and easy to talk with. We tried the tomato pie as an appetizer...loved it! Then, I had a special dish - pesto chicken Alfredo. Very good and large portion! (I’m glad I only ordered one breast). The sautéed veggies were good, but a little too soft. My partner had the shrimp & grits cake...also delicious. His asparagus was a great side. Ok...so, the salad. My mixed greens with strawberry balsamic was very good...until I almost broke a tooth! To our surprise, an earring had fallen into my salad (the server claimed it!).thankfully, no harm done. She felt awful and removed the charge for the appetizer (and desert). Speaking of...the hummingbird cake was so good!! Loved the fruit inside. Overall, I would highly recommend. Just chew slowly :)

FUDGE CANDIES ICE CREAM (seasonal) Cakes
Variety of fudge and homemade candies, which are tasty. I enjoyed ribbon (chocolate/peanut butter) fudge and turtle candy the most. However, the best thing I got here was the homemade ice cream (banana split)-delicious!

Stopped in for breakfast. Eggs, bacon, hashbrowns, biscuits and gravy, and frequent coffee refills were all very good. Service was fast and friendly. The sausage gravy was delicious and eggs exactly as ordered. Read the lunch menu and wished we had time to go back for lunch to give it a try.

Absolute cluster of an establishment, not enough wait staff, dirty tables, no soap in bathroom, food was all soaked in grease and butter, heart attack on a plate. The food wasn’t bad however just greasy. Atmosphere is neat, the other items on the menu looked good such as sandwiches but don’t expect to eat healthy.

My wife and I love to try new places. We stopped in this newly opened pizza shop to try it out and it did not impress. We ordered a medium cheese pizza (1/2 with bacon) with 2 can Cokes which totaled over $17 (pre-tip). The dining area consisted of 2 tables in a room with plain concrete walls. The pizza was burned on the bottom and drenched in sauce. The table was equipped with Dollar Tree Italian Spices and Salt and Pepper... No Parmesan to be found. Give these folks a break though. It is brand new and maybe they will get better with time.

Great food is to be found at the town's hardware store. We enjoyed the hummus appetizer and the tomato pie is out of the world. Others in my group had the veggie burger and it was awesome! Our server, Jess also grabbed her guitar and sang a song for us as we heard she was on her way to the recording studio today. Fun place for lunch and we hope next time they will have hamburgers for us as we have heard they are great!

We were there for lunch and there was a line but it mover quickly. Once we were seated we were promptly greeted a beverages were ordered. The owner was visible in the dinning room chatting with clients. The wait for our order, burger and fries seemed excessive, but when it arrived the burger was excellent. They also offered a "Harvest Buffet" on the Saturday we were there.

Mentone market is a country store with a restaurant inside. Like most small tourist traps the food is so so but the prices are high. We had the nachos and a drink for $9 and change. Small plate of chips with a spoonful of chilli, maybe a spoonful of salsa, a couple of peppers with cheese sauce. Still had chips left when the topping were gone. They could increase the size and the toppings and still make a profit but they don't have to because it's over 10 miles to a town with more options.

Twiggs is a great coffee shop and dining experience under the store front name of Kamama. There is a large art gallery next to the coffee shop where I purchased an art treasure. Sandra, the owner, is friendly, knowledgeable, and makes you feel at home. Twice a month Kamama showcases live music with dinner before the entertainment. Twiggs' has a fine chef formerly from Perdido Key Beach. We enjoyed chicken and dumplings, turnip greens, and cornbread that melts in your mouth. Cheesecake topped with raspberries with a light chocolate sauce completed the dinner which was moderately priced. The Bluegrass Band was entertaining and tickets were $10.00. Sandra, her husband, and staff made this one of my favorite places in Mentone.
