Stopped for a treat during a visit to Deep Creek Lake and we were pleased that we did not miss the opportunity to taste chocolate ice cream at its best - yum!!!

Loved our first visit to the Mountain State Brewing Co. The ambiance was casual and family-friendly to a degree, it is after all a brewing company. The table beside us included several school-aged kids and they seem to do well at accommodating large tables. i enjoyed being presented with a shelf of different games upon arrival and getting to select one to carry back to our table. The menu is very focused on the pizzas. It worked for us but my son was craving a burger and did not find one. No problem! The pizza was GREAT! Loved it! Super thin, and melts in your mouth, though not exactly what I kind of flat-bread pizza I have experienced elsewhere. We will definitely go back next time we visit the DCL area.

We had eaten here once before and the food was great. This particular trip we called in a pizza to bring home with us...it was fantastic! This place is definitely worth stopping & grabbing a bite of good food.

This is a perfect place to grab coffee and breakfast. It is so warm and inviting with comfy chairs, inviting couches, and standard tables. You can grab and go or enjoy at the cafe.

My daughter found this place while looking for things to do at Deep Creek Lake. It's a small but delightful shop, with a variety of products. Wonderful wines and exquisite cheeses. They also sell a variety of pickles, jams and condiments. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly.
They described each cheese as we tasted it. The Allegheny chèvre is smooth and creamy with a slight tang at the end. Cave Dweller is a semi-hard cheese similar to asiago. Mountaintop is a milder blue cheese. The Moo and Blue was my favorite by far. I loved everything we sampled!
They are a bit expensive, which is the reason for the 4 rating. Otherwise it's perfect.

Fresh and Hot made to order donuts and brewed coffee. Watch your donuts get made from scratch.
For many years, we have enjoyed Deep Creek Lake as a Western Maryland Mountain Playground.
We select and enjoy chocolate donuts from Deep Creek Donuts, which provides a picnic area with great views of Deep Creek Lake.
The day is sunny and the views of fall foliage and lake are stunning.
We recommend.

The mouth watering smell of smoked meat hits you as soon as you open the door! Everyone was extremely friendly. We opted for carryout, but enjoyed the atmosphere as we waited (short wait!). We are from out of town and will definitely go back!! Excellent food! Highly recommend!!

We chose this restaurant for our last dinner before going back home, on the recommendation of our innkeeper at Lake Pointe Inn.We were not disappointed.
Prices here are expensive. However, everything is first rate. You are paying for prime cuts of beef and fresh food.
I had a NY strip that was excellent. My wife had the crab cakes. Now, we have had Maryland crabcakes all over the state, and we know that most everywhere has great ones. But we were very surprised to have had the best we have ever had in a restaurant so far from the sea! well worth the price you pay.

We're a big, happy family here at MoonShadow and we invite you to be a part of it... our eclectic, artsy-comfortable style and of course the mismatched place settings and vintage salt & pepper shakers we consider old friends. Along with a commitment to keeping the surroundings real, we're dedicated to serving natural, fresh food that's free of preservatives and additives, and we always strive to use locally sourced and sustainable products when creating our meals. Our philosophy is “ Why not return to the way food used to be... prior to packaging, antibiotics, and harmful chemicals? Why not eat fresh, real food that's not only healthy but tastes delicious as well... why not?”
I reviewed this charming, locally owned spot once before, but it's since moved a few miles down the road to McHenry, by Deep Creek Lake. The new building -- it's really new -- lacks the aging, ramshackle charm of the old rambling quarters, but it's...MoreThank you and glad you enjoyed your time here. Sunday brunch has been doing really well with live music starting at noon. Thanks for mentioning the use of local ingredients in our plates and sandwiches. We try really hard to collaborate with local businesses. :)

Pine Lodge Steakhouse offers freshly prepared food in a casual and relaxed atmosphere. The log interior and many fireplaces make the dining experience feel like a secluded mountain retreat. The views of Deep Creek Lake, especially at sunset, are exceptional. Pine Lodge Steakhouse serves only the finest fresh handcut beef, as well as, Pacific Rim Ahi Tuna, cold-water lobster, BBQ Baby Back Ribs, crab cakes and more. A specialty of the house is their famous Creamy Crab Soup - it's a favorite among the locals! Our house chefs oversee preparation to ensure it meets our high quality standards.
Seeing this is really the only higher end restaurant in Deep Creek, we expected much more. Went with another couple and experienced some weird things during out visit.
Several times things had to be returned to heated up...soup, sides..etc.
There were only a small handful of people there, so it wasnt like everyone was tied up with other guests.
Lobster appetizer was severely overpriced at $23. You basically got a 4oz or smaller lobster tail cut up in small pieces and put into a butter sauce.
Dessert was great, we had the 4 layer chocolate cake.
We might try it again one day, but this was a let down especially since we really wanted it to be a special night.
