I’ve been coming to Charles Street dinner House for years. The staff is accommodating and warm. The food is excellent.
The ambience is but you might expect from a vintage Mariposa restaurant. Nothing fancy. Nothing about it that resembles a franchise business. It’s completely unique.
Having Charles Street restaurant makes a big difference for me living in Mariposa.

Come and enjoy the distinctive vibe of Mariposa’s first and largest running coffee house, where good friends gather and new friends meet daily! We are a fun, eclectic shop, voted Mariposa’s Best Coffee 11 years running. Try our wonderful coffee, roasted on the premises, and one of our many homemade menu items. Hang out downstairs with our fun and friendly baristas or chill in our cozy, quiet upstairs loft and utilize our free WiFi.
As a former newspaper editor I initially passed up this place based solely on the word play in the name. I'm glad I looked past it. The people were great, the coffee was solid, and the environment is everything you want in a small-town coffee...MoreThanks for looking past the play on words ;0) and I'm so glad you enjoyed your coffee experience!

This was a popular stop for many today since the temperature was above 100. Everything that my family tried (iced chai tea, sherbet, fruit smoothies, decaf coffee)were all delicious. They also have very clean restrooms that you can use if you are a customer.

These donuts feel "homemade"...they are not perfect in shape as one would find in other donut shops. I only sampled the glazed and cake varieties so I cannot make 100% judgment on all their donuts...but I found that, although I loved the crispiness of the outside of the donuts, I found the inside, although tasty, to be a little too dry and doughy. The shop is closed on Monday. There is plenty of parking in front.

Savoury's is located on the corner of 6th Street and Hwy 140 in the heart of historic downtown Mariposa.
I don’t know where they get their clams and shrimp but they were outstanding! The service was great too. Their fresh bread is addictive. We called for a table, it gets pretty slammed in town so make reservations. My duck dish was equally delicious and so was my friend’s chicken Marsala.

It is right next to the Visitor Center
One of these unassuming places that end up having excellent coffee beverages and baked goods along with friendly service and a really convenient location next to the Mariposa Visitor Center. Lovely photos on the wall of "moonbows" in Yosemite National Park.

This was an excellent Ice cream parlour. There was a good choice of ice cream and a massive choice of toppings. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Classic american comfort food, from fresh baked pastries and pies to soups and chili, all made from scratch daily. Great burger, fries and shakes too.
A great little place in Mariposa. A must do stop on the way to Yosemite. Service was great fast and efficient. The food perfect. The bacon & cheese macaroni, hot dogs, Turkey melt where sensational. But make sure you leave some space for pie. The blackberry pie is to die for. Made by the partners of one the guys in the diner,it is special.

Stop by Mariposa Coffee on Hwy 49 So. and you will meet the owner of Mariposa Coffee and he will tell you all about how he built this business. This is a wonderful business story full of hard work, creativity and joy. My favorite is Mariposa Honey but if you like chocolate fudge you might want to try some of his flavored coffees. They are wonderful too.

We came across this restaurant upon recommendation and we waited for about half an hour to get a table ( which wasn’t too bad on a Sat night ). When we were seated, the waitress came around quickly to greet us. Took our orders without delay and brought us a meal to remember! We ordered chicken with spinach and feta cheese and fillet mignon, both dishes impressed us as much as their service did! Drinks selection was good and the atmosphere was alive and kicking! A definite highlight of our trip!
Ps pic didn’t do it justice but everything was cooked to perfection! It’s so hard to keep roasted chicken moist and still tasty!
