Love the boudin and gumbo and they have a great salad. Hadn't had anything else though. But when I'm in town I eat here! Will be back for sure!

My wife and I stopped here on the way back from a funeral in SE Texas. We stopped in pretty late on a Sunday afternoon, but they were open till 400. The only thing left for the plate lunch was hamburger stake with rice and gravy and fried squash. She said is was very good. I had a cheeseburger with curley fires and it was pretty good. T,he bun was sourdough break and the burger was tasty.

Every time I'm visiting Mansfield, I have to stop in at this restaurant. Everyone is always so friendly and welcoming. My favorites are the catfish, the cheeseburgers, and the spaghetti casserole. The soul food plates change daily so one day the entree could be smothered pork chops and the next day beef tips. You can also sit down on the inside of the restaurant and eat if you don't want to take your food to go. The hamburgers and catfish are cooked to order. This is the best cheeseburger that I've ever had.

Recently updated restaurant offers a anytime buffet as well as made to order meals. The buffet is small but still offers a wide variety of different choices. The also offer a salad bar and ice cream. The restaurant is family owned and the service is always superior. The staff is always attentive and friendly.

There's a lunch buffet available til 4p.m.
My mom dropped me off so she could run errands nearby around 2 p.m. and I peeked to see what was at the buffet, there were some nearly empty pans but the person at the counter was polite and asked what I wanted them to refill. I decided to look at the menu first, since I wasn't sure if my mom wanted to eat there. The prices are affordable and reasonable. I wasn't trying to spend more than $8 for a entree. I decided to get the Dinner Special for $7.75. I chose the Beef and broccoli and switched out pork fried rice in favor of shrimp fried for an extra $1. The meal came with a egg roll already and it was made fresh to order. I received my meal in less than 10 min piping hot and fresh the way I like it; the Beef was tender and cooked all the way thru, the broccoli green and tender but still had a snap to it (not like when it's been sitting too long and turns mushy and brown.), and the rice was perfectly fried, the egg roll freshly fried and crunchy as well. My total came out to be $9 and some change, almost $10 but it came in a nice size portion that didn't leave you feeling cheated, and it tasted very delicious. The inside is not fancy but the food is great and the staff if polite. I will go here anytime I want Chinese food when I'm in the area from now on!

There's nothing worse than working out of town and trying to find good Mexican food. Thankfully, I found El Giro! The food was great and so was the price. The staff was very friendly and attentive. They had soccer on the TVs and proper traditional Mexican music playing in the dining room, just the way I like to enjoy my enchiladas. The salsa was definitely made in house and was impressively tasty.

I received a recommendation for this place. Parking is on the side of the building. They have a drive through and walk up ordering, but no seating inside or out. I ordered a breakfast taco, sausage kolache, and sausage and egg sandwich. Everything was warmed up in a microwave so it was served hot. The breakfast taco came with a side of picante sauce. Everything was delicious. They also have doughnuts and a cabinet with a variety of milk and juices.

I visited the new McDonald's on a recent trip to Mansfield, Louisiana. The old location was on Washington Avenue, a few blocks south of downtown Mansfield. This location is at 1116 Polk Street, which is US 84, about a mile east of downtown. It is east of where the Kansas City Southern Railroad tracks cross US Highway 84. It's a nice, new McDonald's, with a modern layout in the dining area. The parking lot is sizable, too. The food is good, and affordable. I usually like to order the Big Mac, with fries and a soft drink, such as Sprite. The drive thru window is convenient. This location on the east side of Mansfield makes sense, since it is closer to I-49, and the city seems to be growing out to the east. It's also just a few miles from the Mansfield State Park, where the Battle of Mansfield took place in 1864. For visitors who want to see the park, this McDonald's is much more convenient for a bite to eat, than their old location on Washington Avenue.

The food was good and the order didn't take very long to be served. It was piping hot and tasted quite good. However, the noise level and cleanliness of the lobby was disturbing and disappointing, to say the least. Workers and friends lurked around the front counter, laughing and carrying on which slowed one or two servers down. We stopped by on a Friday night and the place wasn't too busy, but we had to sit at a dirty table. Definitely worth a try but for health and comfort reasons, take your food to go.
