This is one of our favorite restaurants in town. I love the bread and seasoned olive oil. I usually order salmon, but today I had the redfish topped with crab meat. It was outstanding. The "slice" of key lime pie was more like half a pie, and in my all time top 3. Service is always excellent.

Hamils is the best southern buffet style restaurant in the metro Jackson area. There is not a close second. Fried chicken, bbq, and Home style vegetables are among our favorites.

This is one of my husband's favorite lunch stops when in this area. Today we ordered the catfish Reuben with onion rings. We selected the jalapeño cheddar bun for the bread selection. It was delicious! The catfish was topped with a small amount of regular Reuben fixings, thousand island on the side. Also had lettuce, tomato, pickle and red onion on it. The onion rings appeared to be hand battered. A wonderful lunch! Service is quick and courteous. Parking lot may be packed but this restaurant has ample seating to accommodate large numbers. Don't let the number of vehicles scare you away!!

The food was so good, the service excellent! We don't have the chance to get together like this as often as we like, so we made a great choice to go here for our night. The wait staff, was so helpful, she made good suggestions and made us feel ok with anything special we asked for. We are glad the restaurant is now closer than before!

We frequent this spot every few weeks or so. Good kid-friendly menu and dining, but I've never really found anything that I personally like a lot. We've been for lunch and dinner, and it is always busy which means waiting, which imho they do not manage well. There are very few places to wait inside and not much outside either, where it can be rainy or swelteringly hot.

Anjou is our classic French bistro led by father-daughter duo Christian Amelot and Anne Amelot-Holmes. A graduate of Savoie Leman culinary school, Christian brings over 40 years of French culinary expertise to the kitchen. Also born and trained in Le Ferte-Bernard, France, Anne is the proprietor/general manager of Anjou. The two work hand-in-hand to merge authentic, Old World flavors with Southern favorites for a deliciously crafted menu. We accept reservations for groups of all sizes in our dining room, in addition to two private dining rooms and a lakeside patio that can be booked for private events. Anjou also offers delivery and full-service catering options for groups of any size! Our Sales Manager will work with you to create a customized menu with hors d'oeuvres, family-style or seated meal options.
We have eaten at Anjou several times and they have continued to deliver a great meal with attentive service. Love the escargot, fried oysters, redfish beignets... appetizers. Ribeye and filet are winners. Special was a seafood stuffed flounder- tremendous. Great desserts. Ample wine selection.
Love this place!

At Sunday Brunch. We ate hamburger and wedge salad and poached eggs with crab patty. Excellent taste. Hamburger was waygo beef. Wedge was divided into four small sections to be shared. Be prepared. Expensive. Atmosphere is very very upscale and service is good. Not great. Bar area is very cool with a large window looking to the Interstate. Patio is cool for the Spring and Summer and warm Autumn days. We will return. Live Blues music. Sister restaurant located in NOLA. Great view of the kitchen. I would have preferred a smaller table/booth. Instead of the 4 seat booth. This location will never be confused with NOLA location. Great food. And varied selection. No RBR. No Po-boys. No Creole. No Jambalaya. Serves biscuits instead of NOLA bread.

World Famous U.S. Pond raised Fried Catfish!
After twelve hours in the car, we stored in Jackson for the evening. Found this place on TA, it sounded interesting, so we checked it out. Glad we did. You have exactly two choices, catfish or chicken. It looked like everyone else was having catfish, so we did too. Our waiter, Michael, suggested that three dinners would be enough for four of us. It was more than enough. Skillet cornbread, turnip greens, and fried pickles to start, followed by a mess of fried fish, hush puppies, and fries served family style. Very casual and a lot of fun. Food was first rate and there weren't a lot of decisions to make. Even if you aren't staying in Jackson, this place is worth the 15 minute drive from the Interstate.

Stopped in for a late lunch on a weekday. Although prepping the dining room for dinner, our server was friendly, attentive and took the time to answer our questions to guide us in our dining selections.
Everything on the menu looked great! My husband adores his fried seafood, so we opted for the fried oysters served with house-made remoulade and cocktail sauce. He gave them a “two thumbs up.” The spinach and artichoke dip is ample enough for 2 people and served with pita chips. We would rate it as “average.” The other items we had were much better in terms of quality and taste. We sampled the home made potato chips. They are seasoned with salt and pepper. Crispy, not too oily, and very tasty.
We reviewed the brunch menu and will definitely be returning for brunch! The atmosphere has rustic charm, and we look forward to dining here again.
