I could tell you about the donuts, but there is no doubt they are great. It is worth stopping here just for the donuts, enough people mention that as well. It is small, crowded, cheap and good food... exactly what you want if your a non-local and want local... what nice change. Cute German nut crackers and cuckoo clocks all over and some interesting news papers on the wall.... what's not to like. I would say that the breakfast is good and average if you were there for the normal stuff. But if you wanted to try something special and unique, get the goetta platter....wow, that is different. It was deliciously different. My advice is that you can't go here without getting the goetta meat with breakfast and the donuts. Learn about the Horst story and enjoy the crowded, locals stop restaurant. I won't go into all the details, but it wasn't long before I was talking and even "helping" the locals with some phone issues and advice. I would liked to have stayed longer. It felt a little like a bed and breakfast without the bed. Definitely stop here and put up with a little comfortable uncomforableness, it did me good as I was no longer in 2016 even if for just a little while. Be prepared to put the tip in the jar and not on your card, so good to have a little extra cash. Fun fun

We are an upscale dining restaurant in beautiful downtown Madison, IN. We offer many types of cuisine using only fresh ingredients. Try our Made from scratch, hand rolled pasta, or our best selling item, the Costa Rican New York Strip.
Great little restaurant, cozy but not crowded. Very attentive service and the chef was informative and amiable. We really enjoyed the Costa Rican steak ... even though we were doubtful. This is a wonderful place to chat with friends and have good conversation with great...MoreThank you for your review. We are glad you enjoyed everything. The Costa Rican Strip is our most popular item and we are glad you gave it a try. Thanks again and safe travels.

Once we figured out the name was "Horst" rather than "horse" we had no trouble finding our way. Small place but well worth the visit. Great breakfast for a reasonable price and the donut was awesome. Display of ceramic villages, nutcrackers, and coocoo clocks completed the feel that we'd migrated to Bavaria.

We had two Americanos and a caramel brownie. All yummy. Coffee is nice medium roast and the Americano was suitably hot. They have indoor and outdoor seating. We sat outdoors and spent our time people watching.

If you want to get away from chain pizza, the Red Pepperoni is your spot! The pizza is amazing, but my favorite is the calzone. They have a large selection of craft beers and cider too. There aren’t many tables and the restaurant tends to get very busy. We always go early so we can find a table. Good stuff!

Scoops serves over 30 flavors of hand-dipped ice cream, plus shakes, floats and more. We also offer a large selection of flavored popcorn, made right in the store. Plus we have many varieties in-house made fudge.
A friend of mine who had already been suggested we go. We went in and I was pleasantly surprised by their large selection and all the options they had including fudge and popcorn. We both got double scoops of ice cream for a great price. There was some seating inside and some outside which was really nice. The ice cream was delicious, a perfect treat for a hot day. Next time I'm in Madison I know where I'm going.

Homemade meal in a small town book-store like atmosphere. Great staff, friendly and the food was excellent. All made by hand.. the rolls were AMAZING and the sandwiches were excellent. Great spot for small meeting, to study or catch up with friends. Fast WiFi too

Truly a gem. The food would compete with the best steak house, or seafood restaurant. My husband enjoyed a generous baked cod stuffed with shrimp and crab. The seafood chowder was way underpriced for the quality (don't tell them!). All this excellence in dining while enjoying one of the best views of the Ohio in Madison! I'm putting on my "favorites"list.

Just had carry out pizza but this pizza was perfect! We tried four kinds (on two pies). The toppings were ample, veggies fresh, meats piled high. I don't know how they did it but it was not greasy at all!

This was an adorable little cafe with amazing food. Got a sandwich which was super tasty and on some of the best bread ever. I also got the potato soup which was great! Don't forget dessert when you stop by! It's fabulous! Cute, clean, and great prices!
