We were staying at the Lutsen resort and came here for breakfast. What a quaint little spot. Great breakfast. It's also a gas station and little grocery stop. Friendly owner who welcomed us for stopping!! Would definitely go back.

We roast coffee, we brew coffee and we Fika! Full espresso and drip coffee offerings, also carrying baked goods from Elfvin's Bakery in Grand Marais, MN.
I like trying different local coffee when we go on vacation and Fika was excellent. We bought a bag to have while we stayed on the North Shore and I just received another bag in the mail!

Ease into north shore flavors Kick back and relax with an espresso or your favorite glass of wine in our casual, yet chic North Shore bistro. Sample the award-winning pizza, fresh homemade breads or one of our specialty soups or salads. Top it all off with something sweet and sumptuous.
Ordered takeout sandwiches and salads, WITH dressing. They didn't include the dressing (just noticed a review 2 days ago with the same issue). For what they charge, they cannot make mistakes like this and expect to get good ratings. The sandwiches were good, but the lack of dressing made this a less than excellent review.

Flavors as big and bold as the view! Experience the Bluefin Grille's sophisticated yet casual atmosphere while savoring the most breathtaking views available on the North Shore. Along with scenery, you'll enjoy spectacular regionally inspired cuisine.
I travel alone. I understand that servers prefer two or more orders per table, but because I am solo, I try to be a courteous customer and I always tip generously. It's unpleasant to be treated with snooty arrogance -- "Just ONE???" -- when I ask to be seated, and although I had hoped for a nice dinner, I left after waiting over 15 minutes for a server to even greet me. I will not return.

A chilly, windy night. A fire in one of the 2. Huge fireplaces would have been welcoming, but neither was burning. The restaurant looks formal with white tablecloths, and it was nice to be seated at windows looking out at Lake Superior. Would have been better if it hadn’t been so chilly. Service was quick to deliver meals...meatballs for me and walleye for husband. The meatballs were good, and the lingonberry sauce and mushroom gravy were nice accompaniments. The walleye was another story. It was supposed to come with a potatoe crust. It didn’t. It came with a gluey looking topping. Maybe like a watery sauce of mashed potatoes? Nothing crusty about this at all. Thought maybe a mistake was made in the kitchen, but waiter assured us that was the potatoe “crust”. It was decent fish, but very bland and accompanied by a rice and wild rice mixture that was equally bland,,,,just 1 more thing...menu said wild rice, not wild rice blended with plain white rice. We ate, set plates aside and waited for the waiter to return to ask about coffee and dessert. We waited quite a while..long enough to convince ourselves we didn’t want anything else. So we got the check, paid and decided we won’t be returning anytime soon.

We went here the evening after riding the gondola that afternoon up the mountain. I had the Ribeye steak which came with steak fries and I would tell you that it was one of the better tasting steaks I have had. It had a little...MoreThank you for taking the time to write your review! We are happy to hear you enjoyed your visit and look forward to seeing you here with us again.

We visited on a Thursday night for dinner. It had several tables full but not really busy. We were seated right away and received prompt and friendly service. Our meals were tasty, but like other restaurants in the area, overpriced for what we got. We are from the Twin Cities and we would not pay as much for what we ordered. All in all, a good choice for the area.
I went there for a beer during the afternoon while my family was skiing and had excellent service. Again, not busy, but most people were skiing at the time.
Definitely worth a visit!

We stopped in at the Poplar River Pub while relaxing up on the North Shore of Superior to listen to some local talent - Joe Paulik - strumming his guitar and playing songs from the 70s (Gordon Lightfoot, Loggins and Messina, as well as some Simon and Garfunkel and others), enjoying some locally brewed beer and enjoying a plate of gourmet poutine. Great evening.
