Always a great refreshing place to visit. We would stop everyday we were in Litchfield. My boys love Dairy Queen and we do not have it close to where we live.

Stopped in to Parkview grille after a round of golf with the family. Had the meatloaf panini (pic included), it was massive! Served with the homemade chips it was an awesome lunch. The Cuban was also good. Super cute, small little diner with awesome service. Our glasses were never empty!

The outside of this building on Hwy 12 is pretty funky and the interior decor is not fancy but the vegetarian enchilada plate and the vegetarian quesadilla were not only delicious but big. The chef arranged the plates beautifully so they were a pleasure to look at. The service was tolerably slow but friendly and professional.

Mexican Restaurant, excellent service very delicious food, ambient and friendly . Hermoso Restaurante Mexicaño excelente servicio y riquísima comida.
This is Litchfield's newest restaurant so we thought we'd give it a try. Located at a small mall between a grocery store and a fleet store (same location as another restaurant that I also loved, but that closed last year), it's very unassuming and low key. Decor is simple but pleasant. What really stands out is the friendliness and helpfulness of the owners and employees. It was a busy Mothers' Day Sunday but they greeted us warmly, sat us down quickly, gave us menus and delicious Salsa n chips, and when we ordered, the food was served quite fast, and was really tasty. Our group of three had a seafood enchilada, a loaded beef burrito, and chicken quesadilla; all excellent. They have several vegetarian options on the menu too. I've heard nothing but good comments from others who've eaten here, as well. It's a family operation and the care that goes into every dish is very clear. I think they'll enjoy great success in Litchfield and I'll be eating here often.

Peter's On Lake Ripley had a restaurant called Peter's In The Park in Hutchinson, MN prior to closing and opening this restaurant. It was poorly attended and the food so so and they moved to this location on the golf course in Litchfield, MN. Well, the move brought no positive changes.
First of all I am only a frequent visitor to the area. So I looked up their webpage and called the number as I saw they take reservations. Never being there before I did not know the size or the expected attendance and wished to see if I needed a reservation. So I called. No answer! How can you make reservations during the middle of the day when know one answers the phone. Also this place does serve lunch per their webpage so someone should have been there during the time of afternoon of which I called multiple times. So no answer and no reservations. On their website it stated that dinner hours were from 5pm until 10pm so the four of us took our chances and went their in hopes of having dinner and we arrived shortly after 5:30pm. They were in fact open but the place was dead. There was one other table in the dinning room and one table in the bar area. That should give you a heads up warning. So we got a table of choice, not seated by the staff. Once seated we had a waitress come over with menu's. Pete's prides itself on their ribs which are quite pricey. One person ordered them with a steak/rib combo. They also have a salad bar that I had heard was to be very good. Two of us ordered the fried walleye, one the coconut shrimp and the other the steak and rib combo. We were then told we could head to the salad bar. The so called excellent salad bar I had heard about was of extreme disappointment. I have seen better at Shoney's or supposedly lower quality restaurants. The salad bar had an average mixed green salad with fresh from the can and jar toppings and straight from the bottle salad dressing. They did have a chicken and dumpling soup which appeared very unappealing and a beef and barley soup. The beef and barley soup I will say was excellent and better than any item we ate that evening. My walleye fish was good by itself, but the tarter sauce served with it was so sweet it tasted like a 5 pound bag of sugar had been poured into the batch. The baked potato I had was fine, but that is kind of hard to mess up as long as you leave it in the oven long enough to cook it. My Aunt also had the walleye but had the mixed vegetable medley. I took note that it appeared WAY over cooked. The broccoli was so over cooked it was brown in color. My friend that had the coconut shrimp stated the shrimp was okay but the sauce served with it was again so sweet it was not palatable. My other friend that had the steak and rib combo said the steak was cooked as ordered but lacked in seasoning and flavor and a bottle of A-1 Steak Sauce would have done it more justice. He stated their so called special ribs, although moist on the outside were dry as a popcorn fart on the inside and had no flavor. Also, their signature ribs are quite pricey and were not worth the tab according to my friend who ordered them.
Now, lets talk about their dinning hours again. The website stated as I spoke of before that they were to be open from 5pm until 10pm for dinner. However at 7:30pm they came out with carts and started clearing out and breaking down the salad bar and were preparing to close up shop!!!!
I also want to point out to you that last year we were going to dine at Pete's on Lake Ripley and we called for reservations and on a Saturday night they had closed off the restaurant to all customers due to a wedding!!! How can you expect to stay in business when no one knows when your are or are not going to be open for dinning???
None of us were impressed with Pete's on Lake Ripley and the antics we observed and the poor food quality has to be the reason they did not make it as Pete's In The Park in Hutchinson, MN. If you are hunting for a much better meal and dinning experience in Litchfield I would highly suggest Parkview Grill in downtown Litchfield. I have eaten their three or four times during my visits and never had a bad experience.

Eclectic dive bar and eatery located in the heart of downtown Litchfield Minnesota. Serving breakfast, lunch, & dinner with a full bar!
My daughter and I ate here on a Saturday for lunch. I had Korean BBQ boneless chicken wings with Onion Sticks (?) and she had an artichoke dip burger with tater tots. The quality of the food was excellent! Our only concern was that the food was not quite hot. It was cooked to doneness, just not hot. The server was excellent, the food came quickly so I know it wasn't sitting. I think it's just a"growing pains" kind of thing. Anyway, great experience, will definitely be back!

We like to have the salad bar with our meals. We usually have sandwiches but have also tried the fish. The soups on the salad bar are great - made right in the kitchen, and if you can get cheesecake, go for it.

always has a good variety of hot and quick choices for lunch. I stop at every Casey's that I can when on the road, I can count on great service and cheap eats!

I have driven by Kicker's countless times on my way to and from my sister's house.I live out of town and I have always wanted to stop. This weekend, we did.
Kicker's is my kind of place in every way. It has a large bar area with opportunities for watching the game. It has separate seating areas to make it easy for conversation. While we didn't eat there, the food options sounded good. . . typical bar food. The bartender was really nice and served us promptly.
Yes, it's definitely my kind of place and if I lived in Litch, I could totally see myself stopping in for drinks after work. I would definitely love to watch college football there on a Saturday afternoon.
So why I am I conflicted? Well, it's probably not fair to rate a bar according to the customers inside. However, there was a fairly large group, about 8 people, who had clearly been there a while. I really hope none of them were driving as they all were quite drunk. Being out and having a great time is what I am all about, however, these people had clearly been overserved. The guys were shouting 4-letter words as loudly as they could, and not just the less offensive ones. They were using them all. No one has ever described me as prudish, but I was uncomfortable, particularly since I was just with my boyfriend and not a group. I am not sure why that would matter but for some reason, it did. To me, it seemed as if things could get out of hand in a hurry as these folks were pushing and shoving each other, spilling drinks, and progressively getting louder. I've been known to be the life of the party, but even I know to adjust my behavior when "an outsider" is nearby.
I'd ordered a tall Coors Light which was not the coldest by any stretch. My boyfriend asked if there were oranges available for a Blue Moon but was told no. We noticed later that one of the loud guys had orange slices in a beverage he'd ordered after we asked about it. Perhaps he'd brought his own. Wait, he didn't seem as if he'd carry his own citrus fruits.
I ended up leaving about 1/3 of my beer. I can't believe I just typed that. I never leave beer. However, it had warmed up to room temperature and the atmosphere just wasn't good.
That said, I will happily give this place another chance. It has all the requirements for a fun spot. If it had been warm enough, we probably would have sat outside.
