Before 2007, if you visited us at the old barn during the weekend, you may have tasted one of Bob's delicious BBQ Brisket sandwiches. Now you can enjoy even more tasty offerings at the Bent Rim Grill next to the Frio Canyon Motorcycle Stop. The Bent Rim Grill offers a variety of burgers made from never frozen pure Angus beef. All our burgers are 100% Beef and are grilled to order, not waiting under a heat lamp. Our french fries, onion rings, tater tots, and Texas Toothpicks are fried in 0% trans fat oil. We have a variety of other sandwich choices and can make something special for our vegetarian guests. Our beverage menu has expanded to offer beer and wine, sodas, iced tea, water, and Gatorade. We welcome everyone on wheels. We can accommodate large numbers of guests with car clubs, hot rod groups, or motorcycle enthusiasts. If your next club event is being held in Leakey, we can arrange a special evening meal. Remember, at the Bent Rim Grill we strive to get everyone served quickly so the group eats together and no one is left behind
The Bent Rim Grill has established itself as one of Texas Hill Country's top destinations. Nestled alongside the famous (and somewhat infamous Three Sisters, aka "Twisted Sisters), it is without a doubt the best place to unwind after a long, twisty, turning ride. Offering both inside and outside seating, the Bent Rim Grill is owned & operated by an accomplished rider who knows the difference between a biker bar & a place which caters to all, bikers, foodies, shoppers, serious riders, not so serious riders and those in between. The burgers are excellent and the gift shop has a wide variety from t-shirts to seats, and everything in between. Friendly setting which does not discriminate whether you ride a Harley, BMW, Ducati, Aprila, KTM, Ural, Honda, Kawasaki, Cam Am, all bikes and bikers are welcome here. As an aside I spotted the most beautiful Indian parked alongside the toughest looking Harley today, a bikers heaven. On selected weekends there is live music. If in Texas Hill Country, definitely set aside time for the Lone Star Motorcycle Museum in Vanderpool and top is off at the Bent Rim Grill, GREAT WEEKEND for all. My only recommendation to the Bent Rim Grill is to install a jukebox, yes a jukebox, 25 cents a song...amp up the place a bit.

I only learned about the bakery because I saw some very nice turnovers in the local grocery and inquired. The bakery opened in February 2015 and is on a side street. We spoke with the owners daughter who said her mother bakes all the items each morning. We arrived near to their noon closing time and the selection was not as large as it would have been earlier in the morning. We purchased peach and blueberry turnovers and well as a cream filled elongated do-nut type item. All our selections were very good. They also had muffins, kolaches and various types of donuts. We were told they are accepting Thanksgiving orders. Highly recommend this bakery.

We arrived a few minutes before closing, ordered hamburgers, fries, and fruit pie. They were all good and the service was friendly. Nothing outstanding, but we were not disappointed.

I had lunch at Mama Chole's on July 20, 2017 and it was great! Here's what you need to know:
THE RESTAURANT: Located on the east side of U.S. 83 right in the middle of Leakey in an old building with a small dining room containing about 10 tables. The décor and style are simple, understated, and classic Tex-Mex. The clientele was a mix of locals, tourists, families, and blue collar workers on lunch break. Service was very good, even though the servers seemed a bit harried due to being understaffed.
THE FOOD: Considering how far it is from the border, it was excellent Tex-Mex fare. Among our entire party were served enchiladas, chalupas, tacos, carne guisada, flautas, corn and flour tortillas, tostadas, rice, and beans. All of it, every last bit, was really good and pretty inexpensive too. Portions are generous, filling, and delicious.
Overall, this is a cute and very charming place. Think rustic and Old Texas. I enjoyed every minute and every bite and I think you will too. This is a must-stop on my next trip through Leakey

7 adults and 3 kids stopped in on Saturday evening. Nice atmosphere--even live music. But it took 1 hour 15 minutes before we got our food--hard to keep kids (and several of the adults in our group) entertained that long!!! Once delivered, some food was "scorching hot," other luke warm, and an order of sweet potato fries was cold before they hit our table. 1/2 pound hamburgers and prime rib sandwich were plentiful and enjoyed. Brisket sandwich had only a tablespoon of cubed meat on an oversized bun.

The food is not just the same old hamburger and fries (although)they have wonderful burgers.
They serve daily serve daily specials, and you wont be sorry for eating s sprcisl. You will be very 'FULL' if you finish the whole meal. Many items to chose from and we really are blessedto have a place of this caliber to enjoy eating and visiting with the staff The staff are usually very attentive. They know their jobs and they do them well.

Perfect food stop....happy to find that we ordered, waited, and dined under a cool pavilion instead of under the hot sun, which was my expectation. The chicken was definitely worth making a special effort for and we will be back if we get the chance.

Just a regular eatery in a dinky town. They serve a mean burger here and good fries. The menu is short but the especial de did is usually very good. The breakfast tacos are good and the food is actually very well prepared. La La actually exists and is a feisty lady who runs a tight ship here. Her staff are good and quick to serve.

We had a family reunion nearby and stopped in because it looked good but it also looked like a biker hang out so some in our group were not enthusiastic about stopping here.
It was great for us because we had about 10 kids between ages 3-12 and they had games on the tables and the kids could move around without making a scene. Super friendly staff. Great food and people didn't treat us like heathens because we had kids in a restaurant. I will say all of our kids were well behaved but there are a lot of them in the group and that can be overwhelming to some restaurants. The Hog Pen handled it well. Kudos to you!
I recommend the potato salad, beans and the boudin.
