A great find in the middle of Cumberland, quaint and cozy.
We always have a great meal, nice wine and tasty desert.
Serving portions are quite generous, half servings are available on some.
We always share salad and desert
The bread and dipping oil is so good that you might just eat way too much of it
The service is fantastic and they always make you feel like family.
Reservations are suggested for Fri or Sat.

We stopped midway in a 6 hour drive and enjoyed warm sandwiches, tasty soup, fresh green salad, refreshing coffee, and a few scoops of yummy ice cream. We were here before, and again were glad we made the stop. I appreciated the clean restrooms, cozy booths, and relaxed atmosphere. Wish we had longer to linger.

We eat here every time we visit western Maryland and are never disappointed. Enjoyed dinner on Sunday evening just before crowds started arriving. Nice server who quickly took our order, brought our lasagna and super sub meals in due order and checked up on us for drink renewals and additional bread. Meal was excellent and filling and reasonably priced. Most popular restaurant in the area and must get there early to avoid crowds who fill the place at dinner time.

The themed display of cakes in the window gets you, right from the beginning. Then, go inside, and drool over the wide selection of donuts, including old fashioned plain ones that will make you forget they're plain. Go early, though, as they close by the early afternoon. Great place to grab a sinker for breakfast, or a dozen for your crew at work or home!

My husband and I walked here for dinner after a suggestion by our hotel staff. The service was wonderful! I had a chicken Caesar salad that was dressed perfectly....not too much dressing. The menu noted that all salads are served in a fried tortilla shell. I asked that mine just be on a plate which was no problem. The grilled chicken was delicious. My husband ordered a burger and fries. His burger was a hand formed patty that was fresh and delicious. The roll was ver fresh as well. The fries were pretty good. Our meals and two ice teas cost us a whopping $23! I would recommend this restaurant for great service and delicious fresh food!

This restaurant has been a mainstay in LaVale for many years. The restaurant has easy access and is close to I-68. Henny's is the smaller and more intimate side of Gehauf's restaurant, for smaller groups or couples. It was a slow Sunday evening when we...MoreThank you, Kam J! We are glad to hear that you enjoyed your experience with us! If there is anything that we could have done to make this a 5 star review, please let us know!

You first need to know to go to the counter to order. I had the Cajun Slam bowl. Absolutely nothing Cajun tasting about it. My spouse had the egg sandwich. Nothing remarkable. Maybe a step up from McDonalds but a lot more expensive. The upstairs looked nice but I saw tables unbussed for the complete time we were there.

This is a new to LaVale restaurant. It's the typical Cracker Barrel. It very clean and well staffed. The portions are always big with a hint of smoke to most meat and gravy dishes. The side dish selection is plentiful with my favorites being the brussel sprout and kale slaw, the hash brown casserole and the cooked carrots. With so much food, who has room for desert? But there's always room enough for a piece of candy or two from the country store. :)

Wonderful sandwiches, and outstanding desserts. Located at the trail head of the rail trail in Cumberland. Sit inside or out. Owner very pleasant.
The food was delicious and reasonably priced for a tourist town. The owner is extremely gracious. We arrived just after closing time but he was sitting outside enjoying a lovely evening with his wife and dog. He reopened and prepared two different delicious sandwich type meals followed by "outrageously delicious" deserts as well as some of the best expresso I have had in the states. If we return to the are we WILL visit again.

Puccini Restaurant is located in the historic 1818 Hinkle House which served as a Civil War hospital during the Battle at Folck’s Mill. Famous for its wood fired pizza and its hometown friendliness, diners can select from Puccini’s full lunch and dinner menu. Open Daily 11 am to 10 pm. Free Wireless.
We stopped in for dinner after noticing this restaurant as we drove by on I-68. Everything was just right. We don't drink alcohol, so can't comment on wine, but the food was great. I had lasagne with Manhattan clam chowder; my companion had a margherita pizza and salad. The decor is nice, service was attentive. It would be enjoyable to come back for another meal.
