Breakfast late in the season...a tradition for us.
We had great service from Daphne.
Country ham was excellent. I think the biscuits were freezer biscuits, and if they weren't, you can get better biscuits from the freezer at your grocery store. These biscuits weren't bad, but not as good as Hardee's, as a comparison.
Bacon and sausage patties, very thin, low quality. Definitely nothing special.
Grits were cold and bland. Apples mushy and too sweet. Real fresh cooked apples are so easy...why aren't they making them?
Apple butter and strawberry jam from cans/jars...pretty good, but... nothing you can't easily buy from a grocery.
Coffee, good and fresh, orange juice OK.

It is always crowed on the weekends with live music and cold beer. The burgers are very good and I saw 1 guy with a club sandwich that was enough for 2 people. The service was quick and efficient. If you want to be there when the band is playing you have to be there between 2 and 5.

After three seasons of serving some of the best food Ashe County has ever known (outside our Mamas' and Grandmas' houses), the team of chefs that re-launched the historic Park Vista Restaurant and operated it through the 2015, 2016 and 2017 seasons, are parting ways with the property owners. They are leaving big shoes to fill, both at this restaurant and with the local, regional and traveling "foodies" who have come to love PV's focus on quality local and seasonal ingredients.
It seems likely that another team will bring their own concept to this cozy dining spot; we can only hope they are as dedicated to serving quality food, as the outgoing team has been.

Our family of 4, including 2 kids ages 7 &5, ate lunch here on a busy Saturday. The wait staff got to us right away with no wait. Our waitress was friendly, helpful, and prompt with attention. Our lunches were simple, but delicious, and very affordable. My kids both loved their cookies & my husband swooned over the cherry/cream cheese dessert. Wonderful little shop!!

Motley's BBQ offers something for everyone, which is so nice considering that most BBQ joints only serve pork. They offer pulled chicken, salads and other meal options for non-pork eaters. We went for Sunday lunch and were a little disappointed; they were out of a few dishes and side dishes. We still ate some delicious food but were surprised they were out of food during a peak time (Labor Day weekend). Small town restaurant, so don't expect 5 star experience, but overall I would recommend it and would eat here again.

it was so cold (2 degrees outside) and very dark when I arrived but it was oh so warm and welcoming inside! Our host helped us carry in our luggage to our rooms. Our hostess had homemade snacks and beverage for us inside. My bedroom had a fireplace going and the room was so warm and inviting! The bed slept so well too. Our breakfast was unbelievably delicious and so much food, she packed it up for us for lunch! What hospitality!

Nothing outstanding here but the food was good, the service fast and friendly and everything was clean. The burgers were made by hand and very juicy. Prices were very reasonable. You won't be disappointed and this is better than any fast food stop run by a chain.
