We went in mid-afternoon, which was not a busy time, but there were too many people there for the single [new] waitress to handle. She tried to enlist a help from [I think,] the water boy, but he was less than useless. We had a Turkey club and a hell-roaring sandwich. The club was good. The steak sandwich was sloppy, peppers raw, few onions. The club was ordered with no mayo - but came out with mayo on it. We had to have it replaced. When the cook brought it out, he said, "Its your servers fault, she did not note no mayo". This was 1] a lie, because the server read it back to use from her pad, and 2] unprofessional. Which sums this place up.

Heidi (the owner) has been there each and every time I have gone thru the drive in.....she is friendly, personable and gives excellent service. I always ask for little tweaks to the frappe, etc, ie....a little more chocolate, less mint. Every beverage I have gotten has been great!

We live in Billings and have heard of the Owl for many years. We happened to be passing through Laurel on our way to another destination and decided to try the Owl for lunch. First let me say that we probably did not make the best ordering choices. I ordered fish and chips (chose sweet potato fries) and my friend ordered a bowl of chili. My meal was a couple of steps below mediocre and my friend's was just OK. The place was virtually empty, but the waitress either didn't like her job or was having a bad day. She asked us to order beverages when she brought the menus, but I didn't know what I was eating and wanted to decide on a beverage after I made my food choice. I ordered lemonade when I ordered my meal, but apparently the waitress forgot and the meal came but still no lemonade. I asked again and she made a comment about this is why she wants to take the beverage order at the beginning, because it's hard to remember if it's ordered later. First time I've heard that one! once we had our meals and the lemonade, the waitress basically disappeared. We had to track her down to get the check. I would give this restaurant a second chance, but only for breakfast. I suspect they do a better job on the usual breakfast standards. They also have bluegrass on Saturday mornings from 9-noon. If you choose to go during this time, maybe the music will help make up for the lack or character in the restaurant or the lackadaisical service.

Friendly staff. The shop is right off the Interstate exit. Fast service. My only complaint was that the counter had crumbs all over it when I ordered.

This is the first time we have gone to this place. We went here for lunch and were pleasantly surprised. The owner waited on us. the service was great and so was the food - will definitely be returning in the near future.

Ordered a Coupon SPECIAL $20 LRG All Meat "Special" Pizza. Too bad there was hardly any meat or cheese. I liked the smokey spicy sauce and meat. But it was lacking in the topping department. This is coming from a person who use to work as a pizza chef in a fast food pizza location. Deff could have been better with more topping ( I wouldn't have minded more cost for the extra meat/topping). Sadly Unhappy, work on adding more toppings to your really good pizza... The staff were really nice. The place is SUPER CLEAN!

A nice little restaurant with a great view and fabulous food! Daily lunch and dinner specials, combined with home-made soup and a full bar---what more do you need?
The Chicken Ranch Club Wrap is a perfect choice for lunch, served with fries or soup.. For dinner, choose the special or the breaded shrimp dinner. They serve breakfast until 11:00 am on weekdays, til noon on weekends. You can get wine for $6 per glass or $25 per bottle---or have one of their great Bloody Mary's or other cocktail, as they offer a full bar. There's patio seating for when the weather is nice, and it's a GREAT view of the golf course and sunset!

My husband and I both love the sausage McMuffins, hash browns, and coffee that McDonalds serves in its many locations across the united states. We have been in quite a few in our lives and have found the food to be consistent which is very comforting when in a strange place. We started our beautiful sunrise that morning in Billings, Montanta with a wonderful breakfast here. Service was quick and served up with a smile. This is so rare at fast food chains today, that is why we love to come to McDonalds.

We used to be at the Pelican Truckstop, but now bought our own little café. We serve breakfast, lunch and dinner all day. We have pies, cakes and Wilcoxin's ice cream. Come in, sit down and enjoy!
I'd eaten here once before and wasn't all that impressed, but went back recently and had to change my opinion on some stuff.
Can't say why, but I ordered the meatloaf. Portions were large, and the meatloaf was great. The meal came with a few side dishes, and the only complaint I can offer is that the mashed potatoes were cold. I did bring that to the attention of our server, and she thanked me for letting her know and advise the kitchen staff to check into that and address it.
No issues with the service. The wait staff seemed fairly busy, but were more attentive and pleasant than the wait staff I've encountered at many of the more upscale restaurants and chain establishments I've visited.
This is a folksy sort of establishment, and I think that gives it a degree of charm. Seems like most of the patrons were local agricultural types, but it is located in a small truck stop and so it does have that kind of atmosphere. If that's not your thing, you might want to seek out something more to your liking in nearby Billings.
Although I am a truck driver, I generally stay away from truck stop food. The Pelican Cafe is going to be an exception. I'll eat here again.

This is confusing, the sign outside says Rail Side Diner, but everything inside says The Pelican Café. It appears that they moved to this new location and have never taken down the old sign. Stopped in for breakfast and was glad I did. The place was very clean. Service was good. The meal portions are big.
