With 2.5 miles of beautiful beaches, an iconic pier and lovely ocean vistas, Lauderdale by the Sea is a small community that attracts visitors from around the world. Here low-rise downtown buildings and mid-century modern architecture exude old Florida charm, even as they celebrate the town’s present-day connection to the ocean — most hotels, restaurants and shops are just a few minutes’ walk from Anglin’s Square, a charming oceanfront gathering place.

My brother-in-law took us to Lauderdale by the Sea for dinner. Afterward, we stopped at Kilwin's for dessert. As if the aroma in the shop was not enough, the ice cream selection was tremendous! There were too many good choices. I finally settled on the Kilwin Tracks. Boy, was I glad I did! Delicious!

Recipient of numerous awards for culinary excellence, the restaurant is known as one of the finest dining establishments on America’s east coast serving fresh seafood by the waterway. It is a well-known fact that Blue Moon offers the finest waterfront dining in Fort Lauderdale and is in the top tier of acclaimed restaurants within the entire South Florida region. Blue Moon's elegant interior dining room is decorated in authentic Art Deco style with high ceilings, inlaid wood, carved accents and frosted art glass partitions featuring an underwater theme. There's nothing quite as magical as enjoying an expertly crafted gourmet meal on the Blue Moon terrace where the boats pass by in graceful motion throughout the day and night.
We so looked forward to returning on our vacation again this year. We LOVE their blackened mahi mahi with lobster and shrimp Mac and peas. It’s simply amazing. Their key lime pie is equally as scrumptious. Although the prices are a bit steep, well worth it for a nice dinner in our opinion.

Sloan's Ice Cream is an old fashion ice cream shop with lots of bubble gum and cotton candy colors and decorations. Staff is so friendly and helpful if you are trying to find that sweet treat to put a smile on your face. Once you have your treat either enjoy it while looking around their shop at all their goodies; or grab an outside table to enjoy; or walk along the quaint sidewalks of Lauderdale by the Sea while window shopping and people watching.

We dined there on a Thursday evening in this very busy eatery the colossal shrimp with crab stuffing were very good and well plated. Service was attentive and efficient. The dessert however a purported strawberry shortcake was dry and pretty tasteless even the few berries were flavorless. The menu is varied and well priced and I recommend giving it a try.

I chose LDV because of the terrific reviews on TA but I found it disappointing. The grilled octopus appetizer was amazing but the mushroom risotto was so-so (lots of it but very bland). Same with the desserts. The service was also mixed; great attention at first but then a very long wait for our main and the check. Also, while we sat outdoors I noticed that the indoors was noisy and I'm glad we weren't seated there.

THE SECRET IS OUT Now serving dinner with Chef Carlos Fernandez (formerly of Hilife Café)daily specials a quirky casual atmosphere with an always fresh and tantalizing menu come see what everyone is talking about.
Cute small French-style bistro with chairs and tables that do not match. The menu, although limited, is sufficiently varied to meet anyone's taste. Everything is fresh and expertly prepared.
The server is Paul, who adroitly juggles all of the tables and needs of each guest.
You can't go wrong going here for a special occasion or just a night out for a good meal.
