Very down-home small cafe and sandwich place. Great view from the terrace. This former coffee-growing only facility has broached into feeding locals and tourists. Generous and delightful sandwiches, classical with a local touch or original. Gas station and general store next door. Sandwiches and bakery worth the trip.

We drove up to Kula to come to this restaurant for lunch, based on recommendations from a couple of friends. We were not disappointed! The food was fantastic. We all enjoyed our meals very much. The prices were reasonable. The service was good as well. I would come here again any time!

Local caught FRESH FISH. We sell only locally caught fresh fish. Our fish varies daily. Most days Ahi Poke, Fish tacos, Ceviche, Fish plates and Curry.IF we don't have fresh fish we may not be open or close early. EVERYTHING is made daily and to order. 5 stars for a reason. Served with Aloha. Family Owned and Opertated.
Enjoyed this hipster food truck for what it's well known for - killer fish tacos, grilled fish (that was caught the night prior) and ahi poke. The grilled fish was a bit dry but still good. Fish tacos outstanding! Ahi Poke could have been incredible but too much soy glaze sauce - be sure to ask for it on the side as a dipping sauce and you'll be in heaven. The only thing we didn't care for was the ceviche - it was a different style than we're accustomed to and the fish itself was dry. Fun casual spot, can be crowded at times. Ultra casual. CC accepted

Maui Pie Co. has some great flavor/ingredient combinations and the pies are baked fresh daily. We literally drove out and bought a pie every day after we discovered this place. It was great to share with friends and family we visited on Maui. Great treat, amazing flavors and a reasonable value. Will be back!

When you come on up to visit us at Ulupalakua, you'll find it's not just about the drive. These days, it's about the food. "We're becoming a food destination," says Will Munder, Executive Chef of Ulupalakua Ranch Store & Grill. Mosey up to the counter, and you'll still find all the classic Ranch favorites, but the good stuff just got better. Now everything is made from scratch and as local as we can get it. The Ulupalakua lamb, beef and famous elk are part of our commitment to serve only meat from the Ranch or from Maui. And thanks to Upcountry's abundance. The bustling Grill gets crates of fresh local lettuce, onions, tomatoes, mushrooms, pineapple, herbs and more, every morning. Reminders of times gone by are everywhere inside the Ulupalakua Store, from the sepia-toned photos on the walls to the cowboy hats on the shelves. The Store is a happy place of simple things, good things. Our motto here at Ulupalakua Ranch is: "Happy People." Plain and simple.
The drive upcountry is amazing. The views are so incredible it was hard to focus on the road. We drive straight to the Ulupalakua Ranch Store. Great gifts and menu that includes elk, venison, taro and beef burgers. We chose the “ranch” beef and they were wonderful. We also had the potato wedges. We are outside on the porch. They also have fresh beef for sale.
I would highly recommend this place !
The menu is large so I will return many times .

Stopped at this place on the way up to see the volcano sunrise at 3 AM. The guy working was very cheerful, informative, and funny! The hot chocolate was delicious and had marshmallow with sprinkles on top! Great customer service and definitely recommended!

These cookies are part of "turn-down service" and we were instantly addicted. There is simple goodness in these shortbread-style cookies. They are just the right size to have with tea at bedtime. I'm a home baker but went to the Shops at Wailea to purchase cookies as gifts for friends. I found more varieties than I knew about and had fun testing and choosing. The fact they are individually wrapped made it easy to decide on transporting these little gems. The clerks were helpful but not pushy. I think they are better than what I make!

We were driving in the upcountry on Maui and came across Kula Lodge restaurant for lunch. We were blown away with the food, the service and the magnificent view ... plus the gift store that had Hawaiian items I had not seen elsewhere during our trip. I would highly recommend a diversion to try the Kula Lodge for a lunch or dinner.

We had the opportunity to try Aina coffee at O'o farms - we tried the Mokka roast. It was delicious. We bought a bag of coffee to bring home at the farm. We finished the bag within a week of returning home from vacation. Conveniently Aina coffee takes internet orders . I splurged and bought $60 worth of beans. We enjoy Aina coffee every weekend.

This place doesn't look like much from the outside, but inside are baked treasures you won't soon forget. Get here long before closing (check their hours first), as the best of the baked items sell out fast. We had the little donuts on a stick (can't recall their name), but WOW they were amazing, left the whole family wishing we'd bought more!!!
