I called a day before I was going to have dinner with my boyfriend and my family for my boyfriend's birthday, letting them know what time we were coming, what my plan was (I was bringing my own cake) and how many people to expect. It was nice of them to allow me to bring my own cake (as long as it was store bought). They could've very well said no because they sell various cakes and desserts there.
I dropped off the cake two hours before we were supposed to have dinner and the hostess that accepted the cake acted like she had been expecting me to drop it off. She wrote down my name, how many in our party and the time we were to be expected.
We had a table waiting for us when we arrived, which was great seeing how they said it was first come, first serve. The first thing I noticed was it was awfully dark. I understand the the romantic Italian restaurant feel but my mother and I could barely read our menu. Our waitress came out and told us they were having some trouble with the credit card machine so things would be a little slow. We were fine with that.
While we were finishing up our dinner, our waitress told us the machine was back up, like she was going to get our check. I had to remind her about the cake I brought. We waited... And waited... And waited... it was extremely awkward because my boyfriend didn't know we were waiting for a cake...
Our waitress did accommodate my request for candles (which I had brought) but she came out with them fully lit on the cake in one hand and with other people's food in the other hand, served them first, while my boyfriend is looking at me, so embarrassed because the cake was like a spotlight in the dimly lit restaurant... Then our waitress started to sing happy birthday, which my family and myself half sang with her while the whole restaurant went silent and stared.
I'm not complaining about our waitress, she was friendly and did her job the best she could. I am just not happy with the handling of the situation. It was downright embarrassing. I had expected (with the price of the dinner we were ordering) that this would have been executed better considering I called the day before and stopped by two hours before specifically to let them know the situation. I dont understand why it wasn't communicated better and why this was brought upon our poor waitress at the last minute. I felt my efforts for a smooth execution went unnoticed. Our dinner took two hours. 45 minutes of those two hours were spent waiting for our dinner to be cleared and boxed and for the cake to be served.
That being said, the food was great. I would recommend this restaurant for the food. However, if you have a special occasion with special accommodations, I would say go elsewhere. For a pricey restaurant, I expected more attention to detail and a smoother execution of my request.

This place is renowned for offering amazing steaks at a very competitive price! Same size and quality in New York City and Chicago's fancy Steak restaurants would be charged a price 3 or 4 times as much! Choice is varied and extensive, capable of suiting all tastes, unless you are a...vegetarian! In such case, good luck and...how could you possibly lead a good life? Jokes aside, the steakhouse offers as appealing side-dishes, and meats other than just steak. It seems to be very popular amongst families, also appealing to kids. This place is always packed, thus reservation is a must!

This family-style Italian restaurant is at the South Side of Binghamton. The dining area is cozy and spacious. Service is okay. The lunch specials during weekdays are real bargains. Soup, three garlic knots and a pasta with red sauce only cost eight bucks. Portion is huge. Every thing comes as expected. Although a bit far from downtown, this place is certainly not to be missed.

Chose the new "Crème Brulee" coffee as I like it as a dessert. However, this version is excessively sweet would be unwise for anyone with near diabetic problems to drink a whole medium cup.
My first sip was really nice and had a great flavor, but I could only manage a few more before I gave up. I took the drink home and brewed up a strong small coffee (espresso style) and added this to my drink - even with this added it did not disguise the overwhelmingly sweet taste.
Maybe DD should consider reducing the syrup or whatever is added to make the flavor and still have that brulee taste ??

Came for lunch during the Restaurant Week and instantly liked it. Interior decoration is festive and colorful. My waiter, Christopher, is polite and efficient. Service is very fast. Ordered soup (potato, bacon and onion), Tex-Mex taco salad and Oreo cookie brownie. Soup is creamy and flavorful. The taco salad is surprisingly great. Taste is terrific and portion is generous. Dessert is also good. The Restaurant Week lunch only costs twelve bucks.

"The Little Place with the Big Taste" The Village Diner is not your average diner. Fresh, made from scratch diner food with a unique twist! FREE PARKING is available across the street in Floral Ave Park and at the Fire Stations metered spots.
We haven't been to "The Village Diner" in awhile. The owners have expanded to another section for diners and is very busy at lunchtime. Open 7am to 3 pm serving Breakfast and Lunch. The Breakfast fare is available all day. This is a hopping place and a favorite with the local crowd. The food is delicious and fairly priced. No matter what you choose to eat you will love the taste. The waitstaff is very friendly and courteous. Would recommend to Young and Old alike.

First time in Coppertop and instantly liked it. Nice decor and friendly staff. My waitress, Adelisa, is courteous, efficient and attentive. Food is also great. Philly fries and meatballs and ricotta are tasty. New Orleans beignet is hot and aromatic. Portion is quite big and price very reasonable.

Beautifully decorated. We tried a little bit of everything and shared. The soups and sandwiches are wonderful and homemade. All desserts are homemade and beautiful. The crepes look so beautiful and taste even better. We tried the savory and sweet crepes. So good and not too filling. Service was excellent.

I discovered Spiedies about 20 years ago and Spiedie and Rib Pit has become my favorite. I found myself driving through Binghamton on several occasions and make sure I stop there for my Spiedie fix. The regular pork and chicken are truly amazing, but if you want yours with a twist, try the Greek version. Delicious!
