Overlooking the historic Independence Square, Ophelia's offers an infusion of cultural flavors in an eclectic American menu. The steaks, seafood, duck, and lamb are a few of our guest's favorite items. Layers of flavors contribute to all of the dishes we serve. You will find the atmosphere casual, yet romantic at the same time. Ophelia's in Independence is truly a gem off the beaten path.
We went with friends who happened to a Vietnam vet. He had read about a veterans day special at the restaurant on a K.C. Restaurant site. it turn out the special was for lunch. The server notified the manager who came to the table and explained that it was for lunch, but he would honor the special for dinner for my vet friend. He stayed a talked for a few minutes. All four of us chose the $16.00 Spa Beef Tenderloin dinner and it was EXCELLENT!

Not a particularly attractive building, but worthwhile a trip to track down. In a city with beacoup BBQ venues, some great, it holds it own for terrific BBQ. We took home a slab our first visit, 'cause they were closing. The sauce was rather mild, but suitable for my wife's sensitive GI tract. That was enough to bring us back. I love (unhealthy) burnt ends and this is where I go for them. Different interior, as described by others. You will be satisfied.

Nestled in historic Independence Square, Café Verona will whisk you from the Midwest to the romance of Italy.
What a pleasant surprise at Café Verona! Very upscale Italian; lovely, soft, quiet atmosphere and wonderful food. Our server was extremely pleasant and attentive, very personable but not "hovering". My partner had the lasagna and I had the Chicken Marsala, both were excellent. We enjoyed the traditional Italian atmosphere of the building, and it was very well-kept. We will most definitely be returning when in the Independence area.

This is definitely a restaurant we will visit again! A wonderful atmosphere! I was very happy with the Cioppino! Wonderful flavors and just a delight to eat. The Vegetable Pizza had an amazing amount of vegetables and my daughter was very pleased. The Triple Chocolate cake did not disappoint! So very glad we stopped.

There has always been a small restaurant at the “Corner” in Riverside, Missouri. Enter Ed & Kathi Rule. They had never been in the restaurant business before, but they always felt they knew what good food was all about. It began on May 15, 1983, when they opened a little 40-seat cafe that served breakfast and lunch. The CORNER CAFE was born. Expansions and new buildings have been built, but we continue the traditions that started back in 1983. We strive to provide the best products, the best service, and the best value in an atmosphere that makes you feel like you’re part of the family.
Because we had heard great things about breakfast, we visited late one morning and ended up ordering lunch instead. The food was fabulous!! Absolutely one of the best Reuben sandwiches ever and onion rings to die for. Although not a dessert eater, the tray of pecan rolls that had just been placed in the display case called my name and did not disappoint. Just the right amount of cinnamon, caramel, and pecans. Half of it went home with me. We will return!

Vivilore does no advertising, is not on a main trafficway and does not have significant signage visible from the road. There will be no walk in traffic. The customer service experience was excellent, the menu selections were unexpected and the food was excellent. It's a very eclectic environment that doubles as a retail store selling antiques and unusual home décor items. We were fortunate enough to meet (C?) Kathy the owner who told us they have been open for 5 years. She insisted we tour their patio and gardens with her and found it gorgeous. Enthusiastic thumbs up rating, It is priced as a fine dining establishment but the value is there.

This was my first experience with KC BBQ and my friend suggested this place. Noting up front that she felt that there was better meat elsewhere but the sides here were the best. We started with burnt ends and sweet corn nuggets. i have to admit I was less than enthusiastic about breaded corn, but turns out they were really good. served with ranch dressing for dipping. Burnt ends were tasty but the meat was a bit dry. we tried the sweet and the hot BBQ sauce that were what I expected for the tomato based KC style. For dinner we tried a couple of different sampler plates so we could try everything. I will have to say that everything came out piping hot, but again, most of the meat was on the dry side. I realize the challenge of having to hold and reheat BBQ is a challenge. I would have preferred it be luke warm but moist as opposed to hot and dry. We tried, baby back ribs, chicken, sliced pork, sliced brisket. all had a nice smoke flavor and appearance, but were on the dry side. Cole slaw and beans were, as my girlfriend promised, quite good! Service was good and friendly In the end, I think I would try another place before I went back. it wasnt bad, just nothing to compel me to go back before exploring other options.

Hereford House is one of Kansas City's legendary steakhouses. Great food, casual atmosphere, superior service and reasonable prices. Voted Kansas City's Favorite Steakhouse!
The restaurant was convenient for our stay at the Hilton Garden Hotel in Independence, Missouri.
Great menu offerings for someone who just doesn’t want to get out after a long day driving or who would like room service for their hotel stay at the Hilton Gardens.

I travel for a living and stopped to eat here based solely on the trip advisor ratings but was a little disappointed. This very well could have been an off night for them. They only had three white staff in the whole restaurant with a large party in the back and my service was extremely slow. The staff was friendly but I think they were just shorthanded. My meal was just a little bland compared to my expectations. My drink was never refilled after she initially brought it.
