This is a wonderful spot to stop for a sweet treat either while driving the coast or after the Waipi'o Valley hike. I wouldn't recommend it for much else, other than the Malasada's, but these were definitely worth the stop. Fresh, warm, not too sweet and tasty, I still have dreams about these wonderful donuts!

This place was the best! We walked past it at nighttime when we arrived and decided to go there for breakfast in the morning after glancing at the great menu. There was a bit of a wait around 9am but very worth it! The service was outstanding and a charming man was there chatting with the patrons giving great advice, spreading positivity, and making everyone feel welcome. The food was outstanding too! Delicious and lots of it! Go there if you have the chance!

Really not sure how this place stays in business other than with unsuspecting service. There are four places to sit with a table/bar inside, plus two benches outside (no table), which would be quaint and adorable if the service was good. We felt very much like we were asking too much just to order and get our food. They forgot my husband's iced coffee, ignored him when he went in to ask for it, so I went in and made them give it to him--we had already paid for goodness' sake. They also have no bathroom, which is against code in many states, and prior to now I thought that was a federal regulation. It was also too much to ask for some water. Is this place for real?

Have been going to this establishment for several years always enjoying the experience. The past 4 visits have drastically changed my opinion. I will not return.
Over the past couple months the quality as seriously declined. The Eggplant sandwich ( a personal favorite) had zero taste, the hamburger was so-so, and the fish sandwich I had yesterday was horrible. There were 3 tiny pieces of what can best be described as mahimahi scraps. The sauce had zero taste, it was in desperate need of salt. If you had blindfolded me I would not have known it was a fish sandwich. $13.50 was a bit much to pay for a bun, lettuce and tomato with such a tiny amount if fish you couldn’t taste it. Everyone else in our party had similar complaints about their choices. To make matters worse the prices went up. I don’t mind prices going up when quality remains the same but don’t charge me more for less. Sorry to say I won’t be back.

After driving for nearly 3 hours to get to Waipio lookout and not finding anywhere to stop for a coffee we saw this shop in Honokaa, couldn't get in fast enough.
They make great coffee! They also do sandwiches and other light meal items. Had some great muffins, try the pumpkin one. They also have a range of icecreams. They also have a great selection of some brilliant fudge, so yummy.
There are some tables inside to sit at and when we were there they had the place decorated for Halloween which was fun for son. The owners actually spent time talking with us and they had even heard of Tasmania and were interested in Australia so this place was a great rest stop for us.
Would highly recommend a stop before or after the seeing the lookout. There is no food at the lookout.

We ate here because of a recommendation given to us by the owners of our hotel. The service was really slow, but friendly. And once our food finally came out, we both really enjoyed it! It is a bit pricey for what it is, but we both left satisfied. I wouldn’t make it a point to come back, but I wouldn’t avoid this place either.

This small restaurant, maybe 10 tables, is well worth a stop for lunch. You order at the counter from Liz, the owner, from a menu of fresh salads, soups and sandwiches. Liz is warm and eager to explain the daily offerings. Food is then delivered to you table. I had the daily fresh fish sandwich with garden salad (homemade tropical dressing), terrific! Excellent businesses like this take the extra mile to win over their guests with service and food, and they deserve our business, and good Trip Advisor reviews!

I love the open space and fresh air here. The wait staff hard working and efficient. We shared a taro cake that was delicious along with a good, fresh salad. This is a nice stop when touring the Hamakua coast.

The Landing was da place to land for lunch for my group of 15 hungry teachers. We ordered four Pizza's and four Caesar Salads for takeout the other day and we were not disappointed. The pies were hot and very tasty. We had a plain cheese, a "Hawaiian", a Veggie, and an "All Meat". The size was about 18 inches so we could have actually ordered three and still had plenty. The salad was crisp and fresh and added to the meal very nicely. Picking up was a breeze and the staff even helped carry the food to the car. I wish that I had more time in Honokaa to enjoy more that The Landing had to offer.

It's a great little market to get all the essentials. They had everything we needed for the couple of days we were staying in the area. The cashier was really nice and she even knew the local guy that was checking out in front of us. It's a small community where everybody knows each other.
