When the family feels like Mexican food we always stop by the El Cerro on either side of Havelock. They are our favorite. However I have never had any bad experiences at any of their locations which includes Morehead City and Emerald Isle.

This place is always busy on a hot, humid night. The drive-thru was out onto Main Street and there were always about 10 people at the walk-up window. Service is slow, but everything is made-to-order.
There's some parking and some outside table, but no indoor service or seating.

Cotton Candy is by far the best ice cream Baskin Robbins has. Every year, I look forward to the summer season so they service it. Needless to say, I call to see if it's available. I've spoken to one lady on the phone who is quite helpful and another who is completely useless, which is why it's average. Over all, they need to make Cotton Candy available year round and hire more customer friendly staff.

Stopped in this little gem for breakfast and was pleasantly surprised at the quality and quantity of food. Made to order, arrived on my table piping hot, and delicious. Will be visiting again. Clean restaurant and very friendly staff.

Stopped by around 6:40PM since Bojangles’ was unable to fill an order in under 20 minutes. Ordering at the drive thru was quick, efficient and friendly. We were in and out in less than 5 minutes. Food was hot and delicious. Menu was extensive. We fed 4 people for around $32, which included side orders, additional pieces of chicken and the tailgate special. BBQ beans and coleslaw were excellent. Definitely will be going back.

A friend and I went here for dinner. I ordered the catfish because it was one of the few entrees that you could order not fried. My friend had the fried shrimp. Both entrees were on the small side and kind of boring. Your could get the same meal at Cracker Barrel for about half the price. The only good thing about the meal was the corn hush puppies.

We went to this restaurant with friends the day before we left this area. I was a little reluctant, not being a fan of Japanese food. I needn't have worried. We shared an appetizer of Tempura Shrimp which, with the addition of the available white sauce, proved to be very good, the breading was very nice and the shrimp good size and tasty. My wife ordered the Salmon Teriyaki, and I had the Chicken Teriyaki. Both proved to be good choices but the rice needed a bit of spicing up. We were seated promptly upon arrival and our waitress was very efficient. We'd not hesitate to dine at this restaurant the next time we're in the area.

Hard to find as it is tucked on the end of a convenience store gas station. Limited seating. Wife ordered the lunch special...Pineapple Chicken and I got the beef Yaka Soba. Came with small salads with a ginger dressing...very good. Looking around we saw other customers getting their orders and plates were piles high with food. Ours where no different. Wife said she could have made a meal off of the fried rice. I barely finished mine. Very good. Wife said she would come here again. Wait staff were very nice.

Visiting nearby MCAS and wanted a quick dinner. Have had several NC Qs while visiting the state. This was one of the best. Environment is clean and simple: just order at one end of counter, pay at the other and seat yourself.
They were already out of ribs when we arrived so I got the pork plate and hubby got the sausage plate. Sauce is served on the side along with buttered toast. The meat was delicious and the sides were just as good...baked beans, potato salad, jack mac and cheese, and slaw. I like my slaw a little more finely shredded but the flavor was perfect. The mac and cheese made with cheddar jack was unusual and delicious!
Best of all, along with our two sweet teas, we still got by under $20.
Strongly recommend giving Double J a try!
