Grilled Cheese Mania has just celebrated it's 5 year anniversary. As many of our regulars know, Mania is my maiden name and our menu options are named after my family and friends. All of our foods including our drinks are homemade and prepared on site. I take pride in every order that goes out the window at GCM. The team I work with offers excellent customer service and they are a pleasure to spend my days with. Without them and you, our customers, I have no business at all. We use quality ingredients in all our recipes and always strive to be consistent and affordable. We don't cut corners on quality and do not strive to be cheap fast food. I do hope you will stop by our new restaurant and enjoy a meal in our new dining room, picnic table or take out. We want you to sit back, relax and enjoy yourself so we have added corn hole, hula hoops, jumbo Jenga, board games and even a huge map for you to pin your hometown on. We look forward to serving you! Blessings, Kathleen Mania-Casey
On a recent car trip from NC to Pennsylvania I calculated the half way point to our destination!and investigated the best places to eat in Harrison burg. Voila - up came grilled Cheese Mania. I was a little unsure when I saw that it was a food truck but in the spirit of adventure decided to give it a try. what a good decision. My husband and I both ordered the Casey, his with peppers and onions added. Honestly, probably one of the best roast beef sandwiches I've ever had! We elected to get the horseradish dipping sauce, which was the pice de resistance! We managed to hit it at a great time as there were no lines. Service was friendly and pleasant and all our queries were answered. Picnic tables had nice large umbrellas that kept us nicely shaded from the bright sun. I'm getting g hungry just thinking about that sandwich (grin)!

Located in an elegantly restored Victorian mansion, Joshua Wilton House is within walking distance of historic downtown Harrisonburg and the campus of James Madison University, offering guests quiet charm and gracious living in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley. The Restaurant offers a unique and exquisite a la carte menu that changes with the seasons, along with an extensive selection of beers and an award-winning wine list. Featured are the food products of many small local farms and producers who supply our kitchen with high quality ingredients that simply cannot be found elsewhere. Chef's Tom French and Brian Bogan work together to create food that highlights Virginia's southern heritage while adding a French influence to the dish. During the warmer months, seating is available on the outdoor brick patio. Arrive early and enjoy a cocktail in our lounge before dinner.
This 1888 house, beautifully restored with original mantels, fireplaces, stained glass and parquet floors, is a surprising gem in downtown Harrisonburg. The five bedrooms are small but with lovlely period furniture, wi-fi and no TV! The piece de resistance is restaurant which has been serving its signature creme brulee dessert for 40 years. My husband had perfectly cooked duck breast and I had crispy pork belly with carrot puree, prosciutto and tiny apple balls marinated for days in cinnamon and star anise and then rolled in sugar and flamed to caramelize, In summer there's a small herb, flower and vegetable garden for fresh local produce. The night's salad and dessert chef was a saxophonist. Perhaps that accounted for the great classic jazz CD's playing in the cozy bar and the dining room and the harmonious progression from amuse bouche to final gormandise. If it's a James Madison University event weekend, reserve early.

We got together for a belated birthday celebration. We had appetizers, entrees and even dessert. Everything was so delicious! The service was wonderful. Because we had a handicapped individual with us we were seated downstairs. We had our own little alcove. It was private and we were able to enjoy our meal. We made reservations which is the way to go. It was raining so we also took advantage of the valet parking. We had a great evening!

This place does a good business because it serves a very good burger at a very good price.
We liked the topping choices for the burgers.
I wish that they would bump it up a notch and serve hand cut fries instead of the thawed crinkle fries.
Fun place!

Stopped by for the 2nd time on our drive from Florida to upstate NY. This restaurant not only gets pizza ('Ring of Fire') right, it's got delicious salads (my wife and I shared one with beets). And some delicious meatballs with yummy tomato sauce.. Good selection of craft beers, too!

We came to visit Harrisonburg for the first time and stopped for lunch. My husband had the fish and chips and I had the steak sandwich. My husband was so surprised to find that the fish and chips were some of the best he has ever had - they were good quality pieces of fish, the batter was not too thick, but absolutely delicious. My steak sandwich was also delicious, but I had to admit, I wished I had ordered the fish and chips. What a nice find. Nice atmosphere, friendly server. Just a really nice experience - thanks!

We were in the area with a few friends and chose this due to it's good TA reviews. The place is small and quite plain; greeted by the bartender-seat yourself. Our diners had the bratwurst and the jaeger schnitzel. The bratwurst was wonderful; terrific flavor-served with a little mustard. They had both a regular and spicy version. The jaeger schnitzel was well cooked, delicious and served with a mushroom gravy that enhanced but did not overpower the dish. The side dishes: red cabbage; fab, sauerkraut-a little different but good, mashed potatoes; delish and fried potatoes with onions-sliced oh so thin and very crispy. Each meal was served with a small fresh salad with a house made dressing. Our table shared 2 desserts; both large and easily devoured by our party of 4. The German chocolate cupcake was the favorite: a large and moist cupcake with a little cherry filling and lots of fresh whipped cream drizzled with chocolate. The other dessert was a puff pastry with whipped cream and strawberries served with a small side of chocolate ice cream. The flaky pastry was crumbly and a bit hard to eat but otherwise delicious. The food was beautifully presented, fresh, hot and just wonderful! Do this give this place a try; you will not be sorry.

We read the reviews on TA before deciding on this restaurant. We were staying at Massanutten Resort and desperately needed some good food. We chose this place based on the reviews and menu before venturing out since it was raining. This restaurant is located in downtown Harrisonburg so parking can be a bit difficult, but the food is well worth it. We arrived and were told that it would be about a 30-35 min wait. They took our cell number to text us when the table was ready, although we couldn't venture out because it was late and most places were closed and as I mentioned previously, it was raining. We did not have to wait long, we were seated maybe 20-25 min later? We were taken upstairs on a winding staircase to a second floor that overlooked the downstairs bar and other tables. It was very industrial like as if it was once a manufacturing plant of some sort. I am sure they had info on it, but didn't read it. We were there with our 2 daughters, ages 13 and 10. My husband and I opted for the Fried Green Tomato appetizer because I was having a heck of a time choosing between the FGT Sandwich and the Chicken & Waffle Panini, so my husband suggested we get the app and then I could get the Chicken & Waffle Panini for dinner. I cannot tell you how good the FGT were...I am super picky about FGT because so many do them differently. These were by far our FAVORITE EVER! They were plated perfectly with the FGT spread out across the plate with the pimento cheese between each slice and a drizzle of balsamic over the top with a smear of pesto along the side. I could have eaten the whole plate myself. YUM! My oldest and I opted for the Chicken & Waffle Panini and it did not disappoint. Perfect combination and I have never seen it offered as a sandwich before and the apple butter provided it with just the hint of sweetness it needed to set it off. My youngest went with the Bacon Cheddar Burger and let me say it was quite large. She kept saying it was the best burger she had ever had. The hubby went all out and ordered the 1/2 rack of ribs with the cheddar grits as his side. He said the ribs were meaty and perfectly glazed with the Bourbon Molasses it came with and the cheddar grits were quite good as well. I also want to add that the prices were excellent as well for the amount of food that you receive too. I really wanted to try the Nutella pie as I am fiend when it comes to Nutella, but I simply was full and there was no room. We would actually find a reason to be back in Harrisonburg just to eat at this restaurant even if it is nearly 3 hours from home. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience. The food, decor, and service were excellent. I had the chicken tikka masala, which I highly recommend. It came in a serving dish, so it would be great to go with a group and have each person order something different. Then everyone could share. Both the naan bread and rice were excellent. You can order the level of curry that you want for your own personal tastes.

I was very impressed with the variety and quality of the foods. I rarely if ever visit buffets since they usually offer low quality foods in large quantities but this one broke that stereotype. $13/person on weekends but I got my moneys worth out of it. If ever again in Harrisonburg I'd return.
