What’s better in a small city than home-style cooking and a friendly atmosphere? We would dare to say… nothing. At Black Bear Diner Gridly, family and friends can get together and relax with a wonderfully tasty meal and exceptional service. Our menu is full of all the regular favorites and more than a few surprises here and there. Give us a taste, and you’ll never look back.
If you want a place to come inside, sit down and enjoy a meal, this place is great. They serve breakfast, l and dinner plus snacks and baked items. You may have a wait to get a seat and you may have another wait to get your food but when it comes it will be worth it. My husband likes the breakfast with hot Italian sausage, but one has to like hot things to eat this. They have a number of different kinds of individual pies in the entrance. They all look so great, it makes you want to forget about the entree and go directly to deserts.

Good coffee and tea but that's no surprise. Was hoping to get a snack but I guess I hit the place after a rush as the selection was really small. Still we enjoyed the drinks and WiFi. This Starbucks is clean and the service was good.

Great service and pizza.....we always go here when we are in the area....and have had several birthday parties here. Staff is always great, as is the food. They are very accommodating...keep our ice cream and B-day cakes in their refrigerator until we are ready for them...and clean up after our party without complaints. Everyone seems to have a good time....and the little kids really like the car ride!!

I've lived in Gridley for over five and a half years and ever since I started going to Ice Burgie, I've experienced the food and business. What's really great about the food is that it's good, delightful, and better than McDonald's. And what's great about the business is that the employees who work there are very friendly and they serve you well. And by the way Ice Burgie has been in Gridley for decades and the business is still going strong. Well anyway I really do like that business because I really think it's the best hamburger joint in town.

While out for work I stopped in at Betty's for some quick Mexican. I could have driven into Marysville/YC, but decided to try out Betty's after driving by on several other trips. It's always a good sign when you see locals eating at an establishment and this was the case with Betty's. My food was good and the price was right. One of my big pet peeves is restaurants not offering a lunch menu and a little quicker service so folks can get back to work. Betty's provided both good value and good food. The booths were comfortable and the decor was cozy. I would probably stop here again.

Casa Lupe is a north state tradition with a number of locations and a fifty-year history (mas o menos) of serving good Mexican dishes to hungry NorCal residents and travelers. The location in Gridley is among its long-established eateries and, while its older and could use some sprucing up, it can still turn out tasty, spicy food--hot and plentiful.
On the Friday evening of our visit, many families had gathered including numbers of small children and toddlers. Casa Lupe is well designed to serve them with booster chairs and various sizes of booths and tables.
Hubby was hungry and ordered a triple combination plate. He liked everything, but thought the chili relleno was especially tasty. He also ended up taking home a good-sized box. I was less hungry. A good bowl of soap de albondigas and some guacamole did it for me. All of it was good.
Although it will not likely become our favorite go-to place for Mexican food, we will stop at Casa Lupe again.

Their catchphrase is we toss him they're awesome. And that is correct they do toss him and they are awesome. Get the extra large special you will not be disappointed my daughter lives near there and every time we come to visit her we get their pizza at least once. It's a nice family run place typical family pizza parlor with games etc.

This restaurant is hidden amongst other shops in a little strip mall in Gridley. On the way between 2 customers I stopped in for a quick bite. The place was pretty busy, but I did get a table right away. The food was good and prepared the way I special ordered it. My standard gripe with Chinese restaurants is that they tend to have a low meat-to-vegetable mix. I like the places that don't skimp on the meat (sorry mom, vegetables are still low on the list for me), but ABC follows the standard pattern unfortunately. If I remember correctly, this place didn't have a soda fountain and only cans of soda, so I didn't get my normal soda fix at lunch. I was really grateful, however when I realized I had left my phone there and needed to come back and get it. They were kind enough to hold it until I could make it back there later that night. I would probably visit again.

I came here for lunch while visiting a customer site recently. I came in and the interior has almost no decoration and dated furniture. The person behind the counter didn't really seem to be paying attention and when I paid and she handed me my cup, it was the wrong size. Instead of fixing the issue, she argued with me about what I told her I wanted, as far as drink size. I thought it was really poor customer service.
The menu is extremely limited and my burger was overcooked and pretty tasteless. The fries tasted like the oil hadn't been changed for a while. You also have to pay for refills, so be aware.
While this site is very accessible off the freeway, I wouldn't come here again based on the food quality and service.

Stopped by early on a Sunday morning while traveling on highway 99. Was promptly seated and coffee was poured. About half full of obvious locals the place was a buzz of conversation and laughter. Overall everything looked neat and clean.
Ordered biscuits and gravy with sausage links. It was nice to see they actually made their own biscuits. Very tender, they held the gravy well. On the other hand the gravy really looked like the pre-made canned or powdered version with lots of black pepper. Not bad, but not up to the quality of the biscuits. If you are not a gravy snob, you probably would not notice. The sausage links were unremarkable.
Overall the experience was fine and the service swift and friendly. Total cost $8 including coffee but not the tip.
Probably would visit again
