I stopped going to JLC because the eggs took a nosedive in quality two years ago.. They tasted like powdered eggs wich is the kiss of culinary death for me.
Truth be told, I forgot about them. Then last week I happen by in the morning and noticed a fleet of cars and trucks in the parking lot. That seemed like a compelling signal to reconsider my boycott.
I'm glad I did and all is forgiven. My test meal was an omelette with hash browns and coffee. The eggs were excellent as was the hash browns, coffee and the service.
So as the prodigal son of eggs, I happy to report I can in good conscience recommend Java Lava Cafe as welcomed breakfast spot any time you're in Granby, Colorado. T

Excellent place for good Chinese food! On the outside, the place looks like nothing special, in fact, it looks closed. We decided to try it out, thanks to other YELP reviews. Our waitress even asked us where we'd heard about this place, so we told her, and she said I hope everything is great. She was fun, attentive, and gave great customer service. She was happy to explain the menu and any item we asked about. Truly enjoyed our meal! We tried the PINEAPPLE CHICKEN, and WOW, that was the freshest lightly fried chicken slices, in a light flavored pineapple sauce, with pineapple chunks. The Pot Stickers were the best we've ever had!! After going thru a few menus at the more pricey restaurants in this area, we chose this winner!! We were very impressed, and we will be back on our next visit to Granby/Grand Lake/Winter Park area.
Very strange and disappointing experience. I went in last Friday shortly after 5 p.m. to place a to-go order. Really simple stuff - soup. appetizer, two dishes. I asked whether it would be ready in 10 to 15 minutes. To which the woman at the counter replied, "Closer to 20." Fair enough. I wasn't in a great hurry and was fine to wait.
To be accurate, there were signs posted about the restaurant being short-staffed. But this was beyond "short-staffed"; they were completely over-matched.
After more than half an hour, I politely asked as to the status and when I could get my order. The woman behind the counter, trying to be pleasant and to juggle, said, "It's coming right up." Which I too to mean, fine, hang out for a couple of more minutes and I'll be good to go.
After another 10 or more minutes, I inquired again. At this point, the woman essentially threw up her hands and said, "I don't know." To which I responded, s politely as possible, by telling her that I wasn't trying to be impatient; that I understood they were short on staff; but asking for straight information - whether we were talking about another two minutes or ten minutes or what. At this point, she replied again, "I don't know. And I can't make you any promises." I tried asking again, but she was clearly over-whelmed. Another woman, who had placed a to-go order before me, was having the same experience; getting the same non-responsive run-around; and growing similarly frustrated.
At this point, they asked if I wanted to cancel my order. Which I did. They gave me a full refund (duh!). But I left with no food after wasting 40 or 45 minutes of my time.
This disappoints me as on two previous visits I had found the fare surprisingly good. And there is a shortage of Asian options here or in any nearby towns. But unless/until they can get their act together, my advice sadly is to stay far away.

We searched for this place last and I was not giving up this year. I am so glad we found her. We ordered an apple pie, cinnamon raisin bread and chicken pot pie. Wow...all worth the price. My favorite (if I had to pick) is the chicken pot pie. The amount of chicken in the pie is unusual because most places skimp on the meat. The crust was delicious as well. We heated our apple pie and enjoyed every last bite. Run and make sure you ask for the chicken pot pie! The owner is so nice she even gave us a loaf of bread for free.

My favorite drink by far is a Coconut Milk Dirty Chai! Oh my goodness.... addicted! Always had great service here as well. Really nice, friendly people. The drive through is convenient too!

and with good reason! Although the quarters feel a little cramped, the food was excellent. Had the wild game meatloaf with elk sausage. It was VERY good. Service was a little slow, but the place was packed.

We are a specialty coffee and ice cream shop dedicated to quality, sustainability, and consistency. Come visit! Open Monday-Saturday 7:00-3:00 8:00-1:00 on Sundays. LHC
Stopped by at the store passing through Granby on the way back to Denver from Rocky Mountain National park.
Small store-- thought it might be a nice Mom and Pop store with fresh local ice cream and coffee! Mistake. The store looks messy and dirty. Don't believe the pics on the site-- the ice cream was offered in cheap cups with cheap spoons that bent cause the ice cream was so hard. Espresso shot was awful. Lady running the store was lazy and rude and disinterested in providing service.
Only thing that was impressive was that she used an iPad with square for us to pay the bill. That was a bit shocking considering the slum of a tiny store.

We decided to stop and eat here after having driven by it for years. What a nice surprise. Its a small Mexican restaurant located in an old home. The wait staff was good and drinks and the food was very tasty. We will certainly eat there again, our next time through town.

It was nice to have a Starbucks so close. BUT, plan an extra 20 minutes. The gals who work there are wonderful and friendly, but they are not fast. We had to plan 20 extra minutes. Once you know that, you can enjoy

Counter Service with full breakfasts, pastries, and full lunches. All breads and baked goods baked on site. Allegro Coffee served with full espresso bar.
We called in here as it was the first place open for breakfast. Good choice. Straightforward ordering at the counter. Didn't have to wait long for the food to arrive. Decent food in a clean situation.
