Expect a wait, even for seating at the bar, but still a treat. Watch food preparation while waiting in a street front alcove. The cuisine is outstanding. Service is timely and flexible. Not overbearing, but always at the ready. This is by far the best of the North Country.

Delicious and hearty breakfast sandwich and creamy whole milk. Nice friendly vibe. Browse the bookstore or catch up on news from home while you wait.

Today May 2ND 2016 at 8:30 AM I visited this location to order a bagel with cream cheese toasted. I simply asked to have the bagel cut in half being I was in my truck and it would be easier to eat. I was told they would NOT cut it for me and they would give me a plastic knife to cut myself. HEY, I'M IN MY TRUCK DRIVING AND FORGOT MY CUTTING BOARD!!!! Every DD I've been to has always done this for me, no questions asked. I told this to the male voice on the speaker and he said it was against store policy as if they were to be cut by the knife, the owner didn't want to be sued. WHAT??? You use a knife to cut the bagel to toast and spread on cream cheese, but you can't slice it in half at the request of a paying customer? I'm writing to corporate on this and will copy the store manager. If this truly is your policy, you should be fired! When I told my wife what happened should couldn't believe it and yes she actually worked in DD for a while and said they did it all the time and no one ever was cut and sued DD.

Saalt & Libby’s Bistro came highly recommended to us; we now highly recommend to everyone! Unique, creative, worldly and enticing menu - from the mixology to apps, salads, mains and desserts. They are pros at combining ingredients for delightful flavors.
After hiking all day, we had to control ourselves from ordering too much.
We agreed we need to plan all hiking in this area to ensure we eat dinner at Saalt afterward (i.e., not open Mon. & Tues.).

Saw this place as we drove into town, decided this was going to be supper. Price was quite reasonable, did their Greek pizza which was tasty and different. The thin crust was good, although it is a bit hard to hand hold the slices as they fold easily.

We stopped here for lunch on our way to drive to the top of Mount Washington, it's only about a 10 minute drive & had a lot more options than the cafe at the base of Mount Washington.
The food & service were good and the portions were pretty big too so you could always share something.

We'd been in New England for a few days and had eaten sea food quite a bit so we wanted something different. There are several pizza places in Gorham but we liked what we found at Mr. Pizza. We've found that service in New England is a bit slower than where we're from but the food was worth the wait.
I had a Hawaiian pizza. My husband had eggplant Parmesan, spaghetti and a salad. It was all tasty and the prices were good. We had too much food to finish and took leftovers in a box. They were equally as good the next day. Our server paid good attention to us, filling our water often. We also ordered fries and they were crispy and nice as well.

Stopped for lunch on a ride up to the North Country. I order the Gyro and my husband had a pizza. We both loved our food. Gyro was excellent and my husband loved his pizza. This is our second time here.. the Italian Grinders are great too. Prices are reasonable, place is clean and the owner and staff very friendly. Worth the stop!
(they are in the old Kentucky Fried Chicken building a the edge of town.

Chef owned and operated, bringing you authentic made from scratch Italian cuisine. Many of our ingredients are sourced locally to be able to offer you the freshest ingredients available.Beautiful setting in a building from the 1800's.
Mother and son running front of house very hospitable. The food is home cooking using local produce it was a great change from some of the other places we have been. The bill was pretty modest.

We had breakfast at Welsh's because it was a short walk from where we were staying - but before going we had read the mixed reviews. Our server was OK - not overly friendly but she was attentive and our food came out pretty quick. We noticed other servers being rude to customers. Breakfast was as expected not outstanding but not bad either. Just average. Prices were reasonable. I can't say we recommend this restaurant but if you decide to go - just know what to expect.
