Dessert items here are fine, but the meals are subpar. Quantities are huge and prices are very reasonable, but the food is just not terribly good. I have eaten dinner here twice recently on my way home from hiking. My first meal was the open-faced hot meat loaf sandwich with mashed potatoes. The meat loaf had a lot of gristle in it, which suggests poor quality meat. My second meal was the roast pork dinner. The pork seemed fine, but the mashed potatoes were whipped rather than mashed. It was an enormous amount of food for $9, but poor quality overall. Based on the very average dinners, I would not try the breakfast or lunch items. I will look for another place to stop for food along Highway 2 or just wait until I get home.

I have driven by Zeke's countless times when going over the pass. This time we made Zeke's the destination. It's right on the side of Hwy 2 just east of Gold Bar. There's a good amount of parking and I've seen cars, motorcycles, trailers, motorhomes, boats in the lot. The setting is beautiful. There are lot's of tables and even some indoor seating for when it's cold or raining. The day we were there it felt like going on a picnic. Our group had burgers and fries. The 1/3 lb beef burger is big enough but none of us thought is was much more than average tasting. The sweet pickle relish turned me off; I want dill pickle on my burger. The sesame seed bun was good but nothing special. It was funny that we all commented that the fries were good. All in all, Zeke's is worth stopping at once in a while, just not a destination for gourmet burgers.

You so much need someone to be friendly before you had your coffee.. and this is the right place. Great coffee, great service, good price.

We really like this little coffee shop and stop by whenever we are passing through. Today unfortunately we ordered the wrong thing.
About the coffee shop. Unassuming little shop with big window and comfortable seating inside strip mall. Clean and well organized.
Coffee service - they roast their own coffee which is very good. All other visits have been great and we've always enjoyed the service as well as, our lattes and Americanos.
Today was an off day. We ordered two dirty chais. Not sure what was used to make these, but it seemed like milk, cinnamon and sugar. The cinnamon all floated to top (like two teaspoons). No essence of cardamom whatsoever. Disappointed but will be back for regular espresso next time.
Still giving them four stars as their coffee is very good. Until today, it has always been a good experience.

We finished the Boeing tour in Mukilteo and wanted to visit Leavenworth. On our way to the German VIllage we spotted this quaint coffee "chalet" and of course Little Harry!
Stephen needed a break from driving so we flipped a U turn and came back here for a beverage and snack. The lady was super nice, but not very talkative. She made my soy chai and for Stephen his double shot latte.
Prices were very reasonable, and there's 11 types of "milk" to make your beverage. They also have other soft drinks and teas, and little snacks like peanuts, slim jims, cookies, ice cream and such.
The down part is their toilet is a portapotty (which I didn't dare to use), but they have a big area to let your dog relieve him/ herself.
They offer walk up or drive thru, and if you want to see a bigger statue of Harry (from Harry and the Hendersen), walk down the path.

The River House is our beautifully-restored event center featuring a café, BBQ, business meetings, outdoor weddings, and group activities. This is the headquarters for Outdoor Adventure Center nestled between the Skykomish River and 5k' peaks.
What a delightful find. Hidden off of Highway 2 in Index is a wonderful small friendly restaurant. The River House menu is limited but what they have is delicious. The meat eating husband had a hamburger and I had a black bean burger, both grilled to order and with EVERYTHING and I mean everything on it. Prices very reasonable. Several home baked desserts were tempting although we were told the good stuff sells out early in the day. The drive from Monroe is beautiful.

We went here since we were traveling by bicycle and it was below our Hotel room. We had a great meal with pleasant service and great food. Not a cheap place but at 13-16 dollars for each of our entrees we felt the value was there

Vick's Burger Shack ("The Shack") is an old-fashion, walk-up window style hamburger stand. We serve only fresh-ground beef (never frozen) cooked to order over a real char broiler. We make our milkshakes and malts from real, hand-scooped ice cream--complete with real whipped cream and a cherry on top!Want fries with that? Be sure to try our fry sauce, tartar sauce, or ranch dressing for dipping. We make 'em all, from scratch, right here at The Shack. For you root beer lovers, we serve Big E Ales' Root Beer on tap! (It makes a great root beer float and a really incredible root beer shake.)
Stopped with 3 Grandsons on way to Leavenworth. Good quality meat in burgers. Fresh ingredients. Hand dipped milk shakes that the kids liked. But for 2 kid burgers with fries and 3 burgers, order of fries and onion rings with 2 pops and 3 shakes just short of $55. Seemed expensive! Doubt we'd stop there again.

Much better than a chain, in terms of service and pricing. Nice little local stop. The hot chocolate is killer.

We were hungry after a somewhat stressful drive over the snowy pass and the sign for Rico's was a welcome sight. "Yes, I'm serious," I said. "Pull in here." Best six words I could have said. The pizza was piping hot and featured crisp crust, just-the-right spicy sauce, the perfect amount of cheese, and fine toppings. We accidentally ended up with cheese bread as well, which I don't normally eat, but it was also great. And they had a decent selection of beers on tap which I, as the non-driver, appreciated. The pizza also reheated in the oven nicely a day or two later and still tasted great. I just wish they delivered to Seattle.
