Near Albany
We frequently travel from Boston to Buffalo and always have a hard time finding somewhere to grab a bite in-between that can accomodate my wife's multiple food allergies. Well, solution FOUND outside of Albany at Chez Mike! Chef Mike put together a nice squash salad appetizer with a hanger steak and she was thrilled. I had the special, a grilled cheese with apple slices and carmelized onion... best grilled cheese I've ever had. Service was personable and prompt, prices very fair. We'll never stress about where to eat in our east-west travels again!

This was my first experience with Thai food and I'll be going back! This is a small restaurant but was able to accommodate our group of 7 comfortably for dinner. The service was fast and everyone had something different. Having a vegan and vegetarian in the group sometimes make going out to restaurant a challenge but this place hit the spot for all. The portions were good sized with most of us bringing home a doggie bag. Prices were very reasonable. Try it!

Traditional American Diner serving Breakfast and Lunch only, six days a week. Daily specials, homemade soups, in-house roasted Turkey and Roast Beef, quality/ fresh ingredients used and all meals made to Oder.
We met friends for breakfast at this little diner. The greeted us warmly at the door and seated us quickly. The food was good, typical diner style eats. The OJ wasn't great, but everyone else enjoyed their meals. Four adults ate for around $50.

It's so easy to keep a freezer full of top-notch interest flavors from the supermarket, but every once in a while it's good to branch out and try a couple of scoops of something not so mass produced. We managed to arrive during live-music time, which can be a treat (or decidedly not).

I stayed the night in Albany and was hoping to find a gluten free bakery. I choose to eat gluten free but my husband has a serious sensitivity. So Cider Belly was fine for me, but l would want to investigate more before offering him a doughnut.
The employees did change gloves before handling my doughnuts. There were 6 varieties of gluten free doughnuts when I got there half an hour after opening on a Sunday morning. I have to say the regular doughnuts looked awesome and the flavors were creative.
The gluten free doughnuts are $2 a piece and a little on the small side. They are moist and airy. The different icings were good and my last doughnut was still decent later that evening. It did indeed taste like a regular doughnut and no weird after taste or grainy feel.

The popularity of Romo's seems to have exploded overnight. It is the place to see and be seen in Glenmont. Thursday (Trivia Night), Friday, and Saturday nights get crowded because the food is excellent and quite reasonably-priced. Their marinara sauce may be a little sweet for some palates but, I like it just the way it is.

I ate at The Hidden Cafe while on a business trip to close the acquisition of a marvelous parcel of land for conservation and hiking purposes on behalf of the Trail Conference.
The decor was interesting with a maritime theme of no particular location; service was fast and very friendly; and cleanliness was fairly good.
The food, however, varied widely in quality. The Houma house and the yogurt mix were both fairly good, but the baba ganoush was far too acidic, so acidic that I couldn't make out any of the other tastes.
The scallops were fresh and cooked well but absolutely drowned in olive oil and served with tangerine slices so over cooked as to be tasteless.
The string beans were fresh and cooked well but also drenched in olive oil and covered with a tasteless cheese.
This may be good food for the area based on other reviews so I have awarded three stars despite my reservations.

The food and service was amazing. The best dining experience in the capital region! Hands down. I have never been disappointed. The prices are on the expensive side, but worth it. We has appetizers, salads, entrees and dessert. Every course was better than the previous...MoreYES! So glad you and your date went all out and had the experience we love delivering. Thank you!

We have been to Akira a number of times since they opened. From dining room to the Hibachi tables (first time at the Hibachi tonight) - very kid friendly without loosing grown up appeal!! Fresh food, tender meats and awesome sushi. Just when we thought the chef at the Hibachi table was done spraying the oils and making flames, a grown-ups treat of saki is shot into your mouth from behind the table!!! In keeping with involving the whole family - water is dispensed for the kids and non drinkers.
Thank You for yet another awesome experience Akira!

We have five guys in the UK but they are never a patch on the US branches. I have been to this restaurant a few times now and have always had the perfect burger. Their fries are also some of the best from any chain restaurant.
All in all this is a seriously good place. I love it.
