One of Long Island's most popular neighborhood restaurants, Mim's serves robustly flavored, seasonal American cuisine in a relaxed setting of casual elegance. We offer a full lunch and dinner menu with daily specials in the dining room and the bar. Behind the bar, an outstanding wine list, local micro-brews and a large selection of hand-crafted specialty cocktails are offered. Private parties, large groups & special events are welcome, with private dining & event space available. Mim's is known for welcoming guests with excellent value and warm hospitality.
I’ve been to Mims over ten times now. I have yet to have a bad meal there; their food is great. I highly recommend their quinoa burger with sweet potato fries and their Mac and cheese. You can’t go wrong with either. Although the food is very very good, their service is awful. Every time I go, my family and I have to wait extememely long for our food to come out, and sometimes it has come out cold. When we tell the waiters about this, they shrug and do not even seem to care. It’s a shame becuase the food is good, but this has kept my family and I from coming back. If you don’t care about waiting a long time for your food, and it possibly being cold then you can get a good meal here.

Besito, translated as little kiss, strives to delight guests with the warmth of a private hacienda offering thoughtful details and cuisine. Besito was rated "excellent" by the New York Times with decor that embraces all the flavors and festivity of Mexican cuisine. Enjoy fresh, table-side guacamole and over 75 tequilas all straight from Mexico. Enjoy our amazing Sunday Brunch the best on Long Island and our exceptional outdooring dining / patio seating in the summer!
We came for my birthday and I was very happy with the food and service. I pre ordered some appetizers ( I had 13 people, 3 under 6). Nachos with beef and nachos without, guacamole mild and spicy. All made freah and amazing. The main...MoreWe are so pleased to hear that you enjoyed your experience at Besito. Looking forward to seeing you again soon

Unless we're looking for cheap food, stop here for low priced food with fresh flavors at all times. My favorite usually is a burrito. All ingredients are fresh, and your order is cooked entirely while you wait. I've never been disappointed here.

We give people great food, selections, drinks and service in a casual atmosphere at a reasonable price
Met friends not seen in years at this small, intimate, nicely done restaurant. Most had linguine with clams, garlic white wine sauce. Very good! Others ordered off small plate list, good reports. Portions generous. Wine and drinks fine. Upscale and priced accordingly.

A very cosy charming interior where you feel nice and warm after a sea front walk
The music is smooth classic american and pleasant
The radiant pig draft beer has an interesting bitterness and freshness
The mussels are cooked in a lightly creamy sauce, spicy italian sausages and pepper. A couple where not good but i could easily single them out and the rest was good
The oysters are fresh with a nice shallot vinegar sauce
The snapper is pan fried, fresh and crispy on a bed of brussel sprouts.
The drench fries are exceptionally good
Overall a very good adress in the area

Claudios of Glen Cove was chosen from trip advisor recommendations and was not disappointed, from being greeted by Claudio himself, seated in a warm friendly dining room and getting fabulous recommendations from his son Fabrezio, the Kurobuta pork chop was absolutely the best I've ever had. I highly recommend Claudios if you ever find yourself in Glen Cove

I love, love this place! The pastries are always terrific. Sandwiches, pizza etc. exceptional. I really come here for the breads though. The best ever breads...you have to take a few loaves home. In the nice weather you can sit outside and enjoy looking out St. Rocco’s way. It almost feels like you are in Italy! Love this place!

DiMaggio's Trattoria serves Old World traditional dishes in a friendly, casual, atmosphere. We are committed to preparing food with only the finest and freshest ingredients. Open 7 days a week lunch and dinner
Although it is one of those places long revered by locals, if you find yourself in the Port Washington, NY area around lunch or dinner time, you should give this restaurant a try.
Their pasta dishes are authentic and the tastes ring true. I am a big fan of the Tortellini en Brodo, the Lasagne della Nonna and the Caesar Salad. In fact, I am not above ordering the salad to bring home when I am expecting luncheon guests; I put it in my own salad bowl to serve and it is so much better than anything I could concoct myself. But I digress; my husband loves the Chicken Scarpariello (a lot), and any dish that includes Italian sausage. Descriptions aside, many of the dishes offered harken back to memories of Grandma and Sunday dinners with the family which, for me, is a good thing.
At the risk of never getting a seat without a long wait, I am happy to recommend this restaurant. We have been going there for a long time and are never disappointed with the food or the service.
Just a couple of notes: reservations cannot be made unless your group is 6 or more and parking can be tricky. There is a lot just a few steps away, but availability for that is varied, so check with the restaurant for time and availability.

We went with another couple for "Sunday Brunch", we started w/ MIMOSAs, BLOODY MARYs & IRISH SODA BREAD which were all very good.
I had "EGGS FLORENTINE" which was superb, my wife had "Three EGGS, Canadian Bacon, Rye Toast".
Both of our friends had OMELETTES: one was "Spinach, Cheddar & Tomato"; the other was "Mushrooms, Ham, & American". They both said their omelettes were perfectly cooked & very tasty. The "Home Fries" that came with all dishes were delicious.
We also had an order of "BLUEBERRY PANCAKES" to split among all of us. We thought they were great & enjoyed them.
Gaby was our Server & she was excellent.
The atmosphere was great & the decorations are very neat with Cable Cars & Ski Lifts stretching from above a set of booths to the wall. I wonder if the Winter Scenes are changed with seasons, I suppose we will have to come back for another visit to find out.
