Sleepy and secluded Friday Harbor is a tiny town with big personality and rich history. Small enough to walk from one end to the other, the coastal fishing village is dotted with picturesque turn of the century wood frame houses, historic storefronts, Coast Salish native carvings and not a stoplight in sight. Stroll through the Historic District, visit informative museums, explore the Port of Friday Harbor waterfront park and see the local populations of orcas and whales from the shore.

Family owned and operated since 1998. Proudly making your hot and cold coffee drinks, yummy breakfast and lunch sandwiches and burritos, scrumptious ice cream cones, sundaes, shakes, old fashion malts, smoothies, frappuccions and Hawaiian Shave Ice ...all made to order. Stop by and give us a try. You'll be happy you did!
Located on Spring Street, tucked in just a bit, is Sweet Retreat. The guys who run the shop are friendly and fun, happy to give recommendations. They sold me on the raspberry peach smoothie, and it was totally worth it. There are gluten free options for an extra price, which I haven't yet tried, but I'm looking forward to them.

Loved by locals and visitors alike, we opened our doors in 2008 and have been a Friday Harbor favorite ever since. Indulge your sweet tooth with our fresh pastries, cookies and fine cakes, or treat yourself to a satisfying sandwich or slice of artisan, thin crust pizza. We use wild yeast in the majority of our breads and pizza dough, so you can be sure your baked good is full of flavor, texture and deliciousness. Visit our website for full menus. We are a small business so please call the bakery for whole pizza orders.
This was on my son and daughter-in-law's Things To Do In Friday Harbor List and we came here specifically for their pizza. The store itself is very nice, clean and well maintained. The staff were extremely friendly. The pizza was absolutely the best!!! How great was it to sit on the bakery's front porch eating delicious pizza and drinking old fashioned root beer. It just doesn't get any better. Although we only came for pizza and I was trying to stick to my diet, the pastries looked delicious. I highly recommend the Bakery San Juan.

This is a comfortable coffee shop that serves locals and tourists since it is close to the ferry dock. We arrived 5 minutes before closing and wanted to order food to eat while waiting for a ferry. We were told they could accommodate us if it was to go, which was fine with us. They have chairs and a table outside where we could sit in a pleasant courtyard area. The sandwiches and cookies we ordered we're delicious. I will stop here again when I am in Friday Harbor.

My niece and I were browsing next door at the book shop and got hungry so we popped next door to check it out. I have to say right here that I'm not a 'Foodie'. I'm just looking for a good Turkey sandwich, maybe a little potato salad. I'll do the occasional aioli but I don't do chutney. This is a chutney kind of place. If you like chutney, you'll love this place. If you've got money to burn AND are a foodie, this place is your heaven. Not mine though! High end flavors with a price tag to match. It had a bunch of different salads in the deli case too but it was all stuff that I wasn't quite comfortable eating. Not one bit of potato salad or cole slaw. It's small with a little outdoor seating. Just up the hill from the ferry landing. If you're a meat a potatoes kind of person, or like I, are just looking for a good Turkey sandwich, go elsewhere. This place isn't for our kind!
The book shop next door is basically a half priced books store. Worth wandering in.

It's America, so it isn't everyday that you come across great coffee. This is one of those places. Husband and I both ordered lattes (mine with almond milk) and we weren't disappointed. The place itself is small, however, there are still places to sit if you don't want take-out.

We stopped by to pick up coffee, scone & muffin to enjoy while we waited in the ferry line. I am particularly fond of scones, & this one was tender & delicious. Wish we had picked up some more to take home. We also thought the prices were very reasonable.

The appeal here is the variety of flavors. It's not premium ice cream, but it's good and a fun experience to see all of the options.
It's a small place, and during tourist season when the ferries dock (right beside the shop) expect service to be brisk as the staff tries to serve everyone. There's no seating inside, but many benches nearby to enjoy ice cream and the views.

What a warm and welcoming place; we felt right at home! The food was outstanding. My husband had the bay scallops and they were superb! I had the vegetable thaly plate, exactly what I wanted. Perfectly rounded flavor combinations. We both had the farro salad, which was excellent. The vibe is "your favorite neighborhood place." Good wine choices to top it off, along with coconut cream pie. Highly recommend!

Hey, thanks for your interest in San Juan Coffee Roasting Company. We are Steve and Irene Herring and we have been living in the beautiful San Juan Islands for about 20 years. About 19 years ago, we decided that these islands needed some freshly roasted coffee, instead of coffee shipped in from who knows where and roasted who knows when. Now we are proud to say that any coffee purchased from the San Juan Coffee Roasting Company is a mere 24-48 hours out of the roaster. We roast everyday in small batches to assure the fullest flavor that our coffees can offer. We ship within 24 hours of receiving your order via phone, mail or Internet to ensure the freshest possible product at your door. If you would like the ultimate San Juan Coffee experience, please drop by our retail shop. We're right alongside the Ferry Dock in Friday Harbor.
Pretty decent Americana for $1.75. Convenient to ferry. No juices, though. Barista seemed confused that I only wanted an 8oz pour. Had to ask for cream- no self serve.
