Fort Benton is a city in and the county seat of Chouteau County, Montana, United States. Established in 1846, a full generation before the U.S. Civil War, Fort Benton is one of the oldest settlements in the American West; in contrast, many other places—including large cities today—were settled in the late 1860s, 1870s, or 1880s. The city's waterfront area, the most important aspect of its 19th-century growth, was designated the Fort Benton Historic District, a National Historic Landmark, in 1961.

Serving Montana Regional Cuisine in a Historic setting. Patio dining next to the Missouri River. Many ingredients are locally sources and our trained Chef cooks dishes according to the season. AAA three diamond rating.
Beautiful restored Grand Union hotel on the shores of the Missouri river. The restaurant Union Grille has a feel of old Montana with great décor and ambiance. Menu is exquisite with a good complimentary wine list. Service was very good. Highly recommendable if you are in this part of Montana.

The menus are made of license plates and the tables are doors turned onto their sides. That's the type of place this is! Great burgers at really fair prices. We were pleasantly surprised to find such a lovely cafe in such a small town.

Opened in 1976 it is Fort Benton oldest supper club with a complete menu. They also make their own blue cheese dressing.
We have deposited ourselves at the Banque several times through the years. It is one of our favorite stops in Fort Benton. The Service is always very attentive, the steaks are always cooked perfectly, and the drinks are old school. The dining room is fairly sparse, but the food makes up for it. There is nothing fancy about it, old school Montana supper club fare, and that's what we like about it. Locals drink upstairs, so it is easy to learn a little about the town when dinner is over.

We both had the French Dip Sandwich and it was excellent. The waffle fries with cheese were excellent. I had a Coors beer. The sandwich was very good and had lots of beef and I had it with Philly cream cheese and cheddar cheese, which I had never done before. It was very good. The Philly cheese added a creamy taste. I would eat here again.

The staff accommodated our group of 40 ladies on a Friday night! We had called ahead to plan and plan they did: they notified the locals to order takeout and so leave the seating for our group. What a treat to have a specially-prepared meal after a long day's-end drive!
