I go there quite often. It switched owners in the last year. I don't like the atmosphere anymore. It used to feel nice and cozy. Now it's kind of austere and cold. I don't know if they switched their machines but its SO LOUD now!! Seriously don't go in the morning to meet someone there you won't be able to hear what the other person is saying. In the afternoon when it's not as busy then it's ok. They need to put the coffee machines in the back or something. It never used to be this loud. I like that they now carry Tea Source teas, that's very nice. The chicken wild rice soup is always a sure thing for lunch. The scones are now quite dry, I'm done with havind those. The muffins are ok.

"Absolutely great food, especially the broasted chicken and potatoes. They do not accept reservations but will accomodate large groups when possible. We love to eat here when traveling to MN. I highly recommend their food!"
Love the small town feel of this place. The kind that you wait for a table outside, with 20-30 others. Small bar with biz cards plastered all on the ceiling, good beer, drinks and apps.
Restaurant is small, cozy tables, and good home cooked meals.
Have only had burgers or fish/chips here, but they are good!

Delicious coffee in a self-serve carafe bar with 2 regular coffee options, 1 decaf and 6 flavor options. Nice! I had hazelnut and the vanilla creme, yum! Lots of bagel choices and muffins. My colleagues had bagels, and they looked awesome. The owners are hospitable, warm and friendly. Customers came and went, and the space was always welcoming. There is a connected flower shop/gift shop. There is a bridal shop upstairs. Really fun to visit and explore. On our way out, I saw the lunches people had purchased. They looked super good!

Definitely a worthwhile stop for great ice cream. They are closed in the winter, but we go regularly Spring through Fall. Looking forward to them being back open in April!

Acqua's second restaurant is on the Northern shore of Forest Lake. Our menu is Italian driven and we always strive to source out the highest quality local ingredients. We focus on maintaining a warm, clean and comfortable atmosphere while offering knowledgeable and attentive service that cares.
This is a return visit after 5 years. Guests at our table said the prime rib was the best they ever had. I had the chicken Marsala pasta. I Had it five years ago and it was much tastier then. Clam chowder was excellent, but Caesar salad was very very bland , and lettuce was was not cold and closer to room temp.Excellent homemade croutons however. Good selection of wine. Budino desert was as good as I remembered. Excellent attentive server, and great wine selection.

Love this place!
The house cake and coffee, or soup and sandwich, sometime Home made from scratch for every mood! Staff is always friendly and helpful should you have questions. Will definitely be back! Found a coffee shop in Forest Lake that has keys’ desserts as well, another favorite as well. But that’s a whole other review!

I’ve dined at both the Forest Lake and Chisago City locations numerous times in the last 6 months and always have great food and excellent service. There is not a single thing to complain about at either location. Large portions at very reasonable prices.

I had dined here a few years back and thought my mom might like to go here for lunch instead of Applebees. We both had trouble finding something on the lunch menu, which listed a lot of burgers vs entrees. The entree prices were quite high for lunch. The food was just OK. It took a long time to get our order and my sweet potato fries were cold. Not a memorable visit.

I rarely have the same dish at Joy Garden and I'm never disappointed. Our favorites are the sushi, beef chow mein, sesame chicken and the sweet and sour chicken. On a busy night it can be a tad slow but it's worth the wait.

We have eaten here several times and have found the food consistently delicious and fresh. Their Spring Rolls are some of my favorite. I can be picky about meat and can't stand anything rubbery, etc. Meat has always been nice and tender- chicken seems to be a nice quality white meat like the breast offers. Staff is always sweet, but our experience is that service can be a little slower so we don't go here if under any time crunch.
