We sat outside because there weren't really any tables inside to accommodate 6 people which was fine as it wasn't a hot morning. We ordered our drinks(2 OJ, 3 waters and 1 coffee). This took the waitress two trips to get right. We ordered our food and no one changed anything from the versions in the menu. The food didn't take long to come except they completely forgot my dads meal and by the time it came out the rest of us were mostly done. It also took a long time to get our bill. All of our food was really good, but the service took the visit downhill.

I love this little bakery. I have tried two cakes from here and they are wonderful. They have different items depending on the day and you can special order items. Everything is wonderful. I highly recommend this place. It is a little out of the way but you will be happy you went there.

Happened to find this place while we were house hunting. Quaint and funky vibe with comfy chairs inside to sit and enjoy your coffee. And the coffee...just as good as any we've had in the Asheville area. Husband had a French Roast and I had a Iced Thai Coffee, both excellent. Didn't have food this time but menu looked great, we'll definitely be back for coffee AND food next time. Love supporting local.

My first visit here. Had the pulled pork with sides of fried okra and collard greens. The BBQ was much too wet and had a mush like texture. The taste was bland. The best I can say is that the collard greens were good.

At Rocky's Hot Chicken Shack, we pay homage to "Tennessee style" hot chicken and southern soul food. We prepare our unique fried chicken to order and it all starts as "Plain". From there we can add the spice from mild to XX hot (lots of folk just love it without any spice).
I love the chicken here. I get it Mild which is somewhat spicy but you can get it hotter or you can get it without spice - still the best fried chicken and the pieces are really large. If you're in Asheville and want fried chicken, try this place.
One word of caution, if you are coming for lunch the lines are much shorter before 11:30 or after the 12:00 rush.

This was a perfect finish to a great romantic getaway with my wife. Returning from Charleston, we found this gem on trip advisor made reservations for 530. We arrived and we're graciously welcomed by the staff and seated immediately. The dining is small and cozy, make reservations we went on a Monday and the place was pretty busy. Started off with a great server who walked us though the specials. My wife had the pork chop was delicious and perfectly prepared. I had the rib eye it was very tasty maybe like 1 degree over medium rare that I ordered. The server advised me that it may be over in temp and if it was they would cook me another. There was no need it was so perfectly seasoned there was no way she was taking it from me. My wife and I will drive from Bryson City just to eat here again. Oh the Apple butter and biscuits are warm fluffy and a pleasant addition to a perfect meal.

Proudly supporting your coffee habit since 1999. We buy some of the finest green coffee beans available and roast them off-site on an American-made Diedrich roaster. As roasters, we deeply respect farmers' dedication to excellence and sustainability, and we strive to honor their hard work by carefully developing each harvest's optimal flavors. As baristas, we are invested in brewing coffee that showcases nature's genius and in sharing it meticulously and enthusiastically with you. As community members, we strive to forge rich connections and to provide a third place that fosters creative interaction and supports the vitality of this beautiful place. We're located in the quaint downtown historic district of Black Mountain and offer delectable homemade pastries (GF options), fresh fruit smoothies, and coffee frappes in addition to all of the traditional espresso-based beverages. Free Wi-Fi, parking and outdoor seating.
This place is repeatedly voted “Best” in class in WNC as The Dripolator earns it by preparing Sustainabiltiy grown high quality coffees thin a convivial atmosphere. I tried a Golden Latte. It was an amazing savory coffee with turmeric, cinnamon, pepper and honey. A coffee to savor and feel great about.

Troyer's is a must for us. We have never had better meats or cheeses. A little out of the way, but definitely worth the trip. The quality is unbeatable (Boar's Head doesn't even compare.) It is pricey, but well worth the extra expense. Breads, etc. are homemade on premises. Made to order sandwiches are available. Store also includes Amish furniture, soup mixes, noodles, etc. The owners are great people, worth your support. I can't rate this place high enough.

This ice cream is delicious !!! They are not open on weekends which is crazy but it is so great when you can get ice cream. They also offered some local crafts which was a nice touch. Stay open year round as we love it!

Native was started by two North Carolina couples who recognized the need for sustainable food practices, and a responsibility that we all share when it comes to our soil, water and air. We believe strongly in supporting farming techniques, which are sustainable, organic, and regenerative. These local farms restore the fabric of rural communities, decrease water and air pollution, preserve and build topsoil and produce wonderful crops. The foods they deliver to our tables are high in nutritive value and are without chemical residue. Our support to these dedicated farmers yields healthier ingredients that strengthens our sense of local community, builds our local community and, most importantly, it is a vital step toward protecting these resources for future generations. It is important to us that we not only provide local food, but that we strive to support our local breweries, artists, musicians and community. Native is a gathering place to celebrate our local culture, and we hope that you enjoy your visit with us!
Enjoyed dinner on the patio with a large number of neighbors. The food was very yummy, including the fried Brussel sprout appetizer, beer soup, hamburgers, salmon, pork sandwich etc... Amazing that everyone enjoyed their selection of food. It was a very nice evening and the patio was delightful. Service was friendly and great. We will be back!
