Gambinos is a family friendly, laid back coastal place. Not super fancy, just plain good. We had the shrimp scampiano and eggplant fries, both to share. We are not big eaters... The shrimp dish was really delicious, the egglant fries fine, but a bit blant.
Our server, Mary was absolutely great in every way. On our way out I mentioned her to the manager and he said:" I am glad to hear that, she has only worked here about 4 weeks. Mary was friendly, observant of any needs, we could not believe she had been there that short a time. She will be a great manager for a restaurant one day! Or maybe an owner? Go for it, Mary!!

If you wantt a cup of coffee that tastes like it's supposed to, get one here. Also, it's a very comfortable place to sit and relax while you sip the tasty brew.

We walked in without a reservation during a Mardi Gras parade. Happily we were seated almost immediately at the table of our choosing. We enjoyed our drinks, appetizers, bread, and our entrees. The service was both pleasant and efficient. We particularly enjoyed the fact that certain entrees come in two sizes so that depending on how hungry you are you will be satisfied. We would definitely go back again.

Okay, so it's not homemade ice cream like some other places in the area, but seriously, who doesn't love Blue Bell ice cream?
We've stopped in a few times, most recently was when we had friends in town and the guys were craving ice cream after dinner. I ordered a small scoop of peach ice cream and my hubby ordered a chocolate malt. I think our total was somewhere between $5-$10.
We typically sit out on the patio but this time we decided to sit inside and enjoy our ice cream as it gets a bit muggy down here in July. They have a nice large patio out front and there's something that just feels right about sitting on the front porch in the summer, eating ice cream.
Stopping in Mr. Gene's Beans for ice cream is great way to cool off on a Southern summer evening... or even in the middle of the day.

We ate at Panini Pete’s on a nice warm day so we were able to enjoy the excellent food on the outdoor shady patio area. So nice. Service was friendly and efficient. It’s freshly prepared and so delicious. We would love to eat here again.

A beautiful waterfront restaurant! Full service, full bar, great seafood & a great view! Best sunsets ever! Brought to you by Chef Pete Blohme of Panini Pete's!
Three generations went to Sunset Pointe for dinner. The manager made my 88-year-old mother feel considered but not condescended to. He made sure she was comfortable without any fuss about it. The Margaritas are vibrant--not too sweet; the appetizers and entrees were all fresh and well-seasoned. At one point, everyone was asked to raise our glasses to toast the beauty just outside the windows. The restaurant is lively without being too loud, and we had extremely good food and good service.

I would be attracted to $5 apps and $2 beers even if quality was average, however, quality at Tamara’s far exceed expectations! Coconut shrimp app is a meal; if you like Ruebens, the Rueben spring rolls are great. Others in my party raved about the chowder. If we go back to Fairhope on this trip, we will go back to Tamara’s!

Master Joe's is the leading sushi restaurant in the area. Established in 2009, it has continuously been voted Best Restaurant on the Eastern Shore and Best Sushi for the entire Mobile Bay and Gulf Shores area by the local magazine "Laniappe". Joe's is located in the heart of downtown Fairhope. The long bar and banquette seating give a sence that you have been transported out of this quiant town and into the big city. The modern decor compliments the casual style. Joe Ou, owner of Master Joe's, and his crew of extremely talented chefs settle for nothing less than perfection. With an extensive array of sushi and other Japanese cuisine there is something for the adventurous and novice alike.
Fairhope has the best sushi restaurant ever? Anywhere? YES! Master Joe has the training, skills, art, imagination, and sense of humor of the best restauranteur. The cuisine is simply excellent. It’s fresh and delicious. Further, he has tailored it to South Alabama’s tastes and local culture. And he takes advantage of our abundance of local fabulous Gulf seafood. I could eat at his restaurant everyday and be his happiest customer. Thank you Master Joe for adding so much to Fairhope.

Fresh made bread, grass fed meats, local veggies and cheeses, homemade sauces and desserts all made with lots of love!!
Where can you get a water-buffalo burger? You can at Locals! As well as bison, and produce that is all local farm to table as much as is possible in an America where our food's origins are usually unknown. Locals is jumping onto a trend becoming very popular in Europe where you eat the food of the farmer down the road. I thought the people were very friendly and the food very good. My companion at lunch ate the "shrimp and grits" that he is a lifetime Alabama native and gave it a two thumbs up!
