This is a chain with other locations in Florida, namely Clermont for one and maybe Lady Lake.
I travel through this area every weekend as I work on one side of FL. And live on the other. The BBQ here never disappoints. Tonight was Texas Sandwich with pulled pork and coleslaw on Texas Toast. I had sweet potato side and an ice tea. Love the big class of cold tea (next size comes on wheels). Staff always pleasant and attentive. Sauce is good although their hot n spicy could be hotter for me. I have a Teflon tongue. Highly recommend. Comfortable for couples solo or family. After dinner run next door to Starbucks for coffee to go!

warm and friendly employees plus the good homemade food makes for a casual, nice dinner out. The menu is understandable, simple, fresh food and They are super accommodating. The decor is underwhelming but the wonderful folks and food make up for the lack of ambience!

Talk about great comfort food! This place has character, atmosphere, and local charm. The staff were very friendly. We saw some regulars who were happy to chat away with us and compare meals we ordered. We had won a gift certificate at a local Chinese auction and decided to use it for dinner. We started with Fried Green Tomatoes - freshly picked that day and sooo sweet! For entrees, we ordered the smoked pork chops, open-faced roast beef, cheesy grits, black-eyed peas, mashed with gravy, and sweet slaw. When we pulled into the parking lot, we actually watched one of the cooks by the smoker out back. I decided right them I'd get something smoked. The pork chops were so flavorful and tender. I think the only thing we didn't like were the peas - they were pretty soggy and had a spicy kick I didn't care for. That doesn't mean someone else wouldn't like them though. Don't forget dessert - they're homemade and seasonal. We got the peach cobbler - WOW it was good!
We'll definitely go back for another meal!!

Hot donuts made to order,Coffee, Smoothies and many other made to order great snacks. Full line of great fresh Fudge with over 20 different flavors.
My husband and I stop in each Saturday to get a bucket of the oh so delicious mini donuts. We have only ever had donuts this good at the Minnesota State Fair. We have tried mini donuts wherever we see them and they never compare. This includes fairs and events across the country. They are usually made ahead of time and never compare.
Knockout makes them fresh and hot while you wait, they just don't get any better than this !

We stopped in on a Friday night with 2 other couples around 6pm. No reservations allowed. Although very busy, we were seated almost immediately. Drinks and the food was very good especially the Salmon.

On Friday night we finally tried The Goblin Market and it was wonderful. First of all we made reservations for their dinner opening, starts at 5 PM. We were seated immediately upstairs near the bar. Decor was like you’re in a plush private library with individual 4 seat tables. Once our waiter Brian made it over I knew we were in for a great time and experience!
We started with Martinis and Manhattans that rival Ruth Chris for craft drink excellence. Our apps were Pumpkin Bruschetta and deviled eggs. The Eggs were the best I’ve ever had while the Bruschetta was above average. My family ordered Mahi Mahi, Atlantic Swordfish, Crab cakes, and River trout. I ordered the Filet with Gorgonzola. All meals come with a salad and a starch so an appetizer is really unnecessary!! Key point... As for the meals all were perfectly cooked, warm on delivery, and perfectly setup!!
Service was timely, funny, and just the right amount.Brian made our drinks, took care of GF questions with the chef, and was also entertaining.
Overall - Excellent

Cupcake Delights is located in downtown Mount Dora, FL. We specialize in flavored cupcakes, hand crafted coffee drinks and special ordered small cakes.
My daughter loves cupcakes and we are happy to get them for her whereever we go. This place had nearly no cupcakes in their case and so she had to settle for what was left - not any real variety or choice. The cupcake was $3 and small. We will happily pay more for something special - unusual - really delicious - big or beautiful. This cupcake was none of these things. It was a ordinary cupcake the size of something you would make at home.
Skip it and find a better treat when your in Mount Dora.
Sorry!
BTW - The place is for sale if someone wants to turn it into a place everyone wants to go to.

My wife and I ate here for our first time yesterday evening on a Friday. There is limited outside seating and we chose to eat outside to enjoy the wonderful Florida Fall weather. Both the outside and the inside of the restaurant are nicely decorated.
It took about 10 minutes before we were first contacted by a waitperson. She didn't bring menus with her and asked what drinks we wanted. Another 10 minutes passed by and we got our drinks and menus but no chips or salsa. I asked for chips and salsa and my wife asked for a glass of wine (in addition to the water that she ordered). Then another 10 minutes or so went by and our waitress came back to our table to take our order but again forgot the chips, salsa and wine.
Our meal came out quickly and was delivered by a different waitress. We ordered the shrimp/steak/chicken fajitas for two. They were fantastic! The food was hot an very tasty. Once again, I asked for the chips and salsa, stressing that I especially needed the salsa for my fajitas. We did finally get the chips and salsa towards the end of our meal. My wife never got the wine that she ordered. Our waitress never stopped by during our meal to ask how it was.
I am going to try this restaurant one more time only because the food was so good and because I think our waitress was inexperienced. She was covering three tables outside as well as tables inside the restaurant and it was a very busy night since Eustis was having their "First Friday" concert that night.
Bottom line: 5 Star food; 5 Star value; 1 Star service.

Sunday afternoon and I'm on my way from Jacksonville to Orlando. But I'm not too excited about driving on the Interstates and the Turnpike. Slightly above St. Augustine I decide to get off I 95 and take SR 16 and the smaller connecting roads back home. Going through a very few small towns and heavily wooded forests is wonderful. And I'm making good time. But I'm getting hungry.
As I enter Eustis I notice a small building, set back off the road. I go by it until I realize it's a small restaurant and I can see the word "Smokehouse". Exactly what I want and 1/2 mile up ahead I make a U turn and I'm back at the restaurant.
Dam Smokehouse restaurant is located in a low, older style Florida bungalow that I suspect draws mostly from the local population. While there is a fair amount of traffic on SR 19, I doubt enough tourists stop to keep the business up.
Drive through an unpaved parking lot and pull up in front of the long wide porch and order take away or for the outside seating that is there. There is a very focused menu all based around a variety of smoked meats. And a few delicious homemade sides, drinks and beers. What else do you need?
I decided to eat inside so I walk in and go to the order window on the left and spend too much time trying to decide what to eat. The menu looks even more inviting. I'm hungry, but I have a few more hours of driving and if I order what I really want, I'll be ready for sleep. So I decide on a rib sandwich, potato salad, cole slaw and a bottle of water. A few minutes later my name is called and I'm at the pickup window staring at a large bun with 4, good sized ribs sitting on it. And with the 2 sides I cannot figure out how they can sell it for $10.69? That's correct... $10.69! And it was delicious. Eating 2 ribs off the bone, and then sliding the meat off the other 2 ribs to put on the bun and I was full. A little messy but delicious.
During my stay here there was a LOT of take out. Big bags of it. Here you can find various types of full dinners, larger family dinners, 4 or 5 sandwiches and meat by the pound. Desserts are available. What you won't find are ribs slathered in sauce. These are all dry rubbed and cooked. There are a few sauces on the table you can add. But try the meat without any sauce first. You may find that you no longer want them.
As I was leaving, I looked around at the notes and items on the walls. This is a real local place. I'm coming back. And if at all possible, at a time to stay for the local band.
