Algerian food in Iowa. We drove for two hours to get here and I was worth the drive. The Algerian combo was amazing. I had the duck tajine. It is the best duck in Iowa. Don't miss it. Sandwiches were also very good.

If you are looking for a small town atmosphere with amazing owners, patrons, and food this is your place. The owners Ake you feel very welcome. The tenderloins are unreal, the steak sandwich is equally delicious. It is worth the scenic drive from anywhere!!!

I visited Elkader for a business trip and had lunch at Johnson's Restaurant. I tried a soup of the day, Egg sandwich, and Mushroom Burger. Soup and Egg sandwich are normal. But mushroom burger is very tasty and very well cooked. Patty and french fries are very clean and well-fried. The serving time is somewhat long, but I had a good lunch time.

best tenderloins in iowa. Never frozen, hand cut everyday, family recipe for the breading and they are HUGE. Great beer with a beer garden. If you like chicken gizzard, there the best here too. The basket comes with large amount. The atmosphere of the tavern is great. Dont forget to ask about the ring on the string game. It been there forever.

Had supper there, the food was good, the price mid range, the waitresses didn't seem all that interested in working. Most of them stood around while people waited.

Great place to eat or just get ice cream. Its only open through summer and fall. They have daily specials and wisconsin ice cream. They also have a small playground for kids.

My buddies and I stopped here while camping to get out of the rain and watch a college football game. Multiple televisions to watch the game. Plenty of space for our small group. Service was awesome, all our needs were met. Food was what you would expect and priced accordingly. We will return.

I ordered a 20 oz Americano which normally comes with three shots. But their machine makes shots in "twos" so they will give you the fourth shot free if you want it. My Americano was very good with that fourth shot!

Those girls really knew how to keep stuff moving! I went through the ordering line and had my sandwich in a hair over a minute. Other than that, the food itself is no different other subways.

2 Mit is a burger shack that has been in Elkader in one form or another for over 30 years. It's all about the burger,,,,classic water burgers with Very High Quality fresh ground beef and just the right amount of seasoning.......all they serve is burgers,,,,they might have "wall fries" and pop. I think it is a cash only place.
The name came from an old german gentleman,,, who would make the trek into town to get 2 mit and 2 mitout,,,his way of saying 2 with and 2 without onions
and speaking of onions i get mine with!!!!!
