We were lucky to find this as there are few dining options in Elizabeth City other than a coupe of chains. In some cities we've been in this would be a "3", not a "4"..but it is by far the best in this area and we appreciate chef owned. Nice options, although my wife prefers more vegetables and seemed to have fewer options as mostly meat based.

A small town feel, meaning patrons comfortable to address friends and strangers. Nice mix of regulars (greeted by name) and (I assume) tourists like me. Clearly a meet-up place, with lady friends, church committees, family groups. The coffee (all I had) was freshly ground and delicious. Coffee comes in bold, smooth, flavored and decaf. They actually have unsweetened nut milks. Outdoor smoking area. I will be back.

Nu-Quality is a must visit dessert place in the evening! This is an old-school ice cream shop that's open seasonally. Nothing fancy, just a few outside tables in a small fenced area next to a busy road. In the summer, there's always a crowd enjoying a cold treat! There's usually a special flavor every week.

We had a stay over in Elizabeth City in route to Chesapeake. Went to the Cypress Creek Grille just to try something different, and we were very impressed. The area is nice and historic...across the street from a nice riverside park with plenty of evening parking. Inside the restaurant is very simple... more of a cafe feel than a fine dining feel...fine with us.
The menu was wonderful, with lots of variation and even petit portions of the popular dishes at dinner. Our server was very friendly and the perfect mix of attentive enough without being overbearing. The prices were reasonable and very one loved the flavors. It’s definitely worth a try if you’re in Elizabeth City.

Classically trained Chef preparing Southern dishes in a contemporary manner. Unique and artfully presented. Full bar service emphasizing classic beverages rather than trendy. Excellent Wine List value priced.
This place is in the charming downtown of Elizabeth City. I would describe the restaurant as warm and inviting, eclectic and charming. Our waiter was so nice and gave us good service as well. Items on the menu looked so appealing, it was hard to...MoreThank you for the the wonderful review. By the the orange stuff is pepper jelly. Hope to see you again in the near future.

This is a relocated and new building for a long established restaurant always known for their great food. Now in a new, very attractive setting, the food and service continue to be great! There are daily specials and continual specials on margaritas and draft beer. Food is great, served quickly and efficiently and what's not to like? You will enjoy eating there, and if the weather ever cooperates, you can sit on a large and attractive patio.

The food was excellent. The portions were generous for the price. Between our party, we had fish, crabcakes, shrimp, and BBQ, and it all tasted great. The service was friendly. One of our party uses a wheelchair. The main dining area was full when we arrived, so the manager came out from behind the counter to show us how to reach to their retail/overflow seating area without navigating stairs. The service was also fast, as everyone that I observed worked with a sense of urgency to get customers what they wanted. This is one of the few times that I have chosen a restaurant based on good reviews. This place fully deserves its high ranking.

Okay, so acoustics are poor and some customers are loud. The decor is plain and it's clean. But the food, the food is very good, the best in the area.

I've eaten here many times and was never disappointed, always excellent in every way. The menu is extensive. You can get just about anything you want, but the rolls from the special list on the white board are my recommendation (especially the Spence Roll).
