OMG. Seriously, OMG. These people make it all there -- the queso dip, the brisket, the pulled pork, the malted shakes... even the chips! The queso and chips are to die for, and the brisket taco -- well, it needs to be in a guidebook of very important roadside eats. This is one of those food joints that you thank God every time you go there, that's it's in your community. In this case, my community. Miss it only if you have no taste buds!

Came here after a wonderful stay at The Blackstone. Very busy. Lady taking orders said to put the menu back where we got it. True service would have done that for patrons. They put your cups for beverages and your orders on a little shelf that separates the eating area from the kitchen. It gets rather confusing as to whose order is whose. My order got lost and my husband had to wait in a long line to ask about it. People who came in after we reordered got there orders ahead of mine. One of the workers did bring me a $5 gift card but said nothing re an apology. Just slapped the card down on our table. After another 10 minutes I asked the lady who took our order about mine. Our whole table had finished their food. She said very curtly, “They saw their error and are fixing it!” Finally got my waffle which was very good. Same lady had an empty pan of cinnamon rolls and was licking frosting off her fingers. Yuck! Looked into kitchen as we were leaving and the cook picked up something and ate it while she was working. Yuck again. Based on this visit I would never go back nor recommend.

Eclectic and fresh, Latitude 33 fuses Asian flavors with local ingredients to create unexpected twists on some of your favorite Asian dishes.
I enjoyed dinner at Latitude 33 where they offer eclectic Asian inspired cuisine. With a bracelet from Riverbend Hotsprings, they offer a free salad. I had the peanut noodles which were delicious! Will go again.

This is the restaurant attached to the Elephant Butte Inn. I wanted to review it separate from the hotel, which has quite a few reviews on tripadvisor.
I hoped for a good meal since it was my birthday but I was actually dissapointed and did not hang around for desert. We arrived toward the end of Happy Hour but it was not very busy and we were helped right away. Upon entering, we were welcomed by an odor that may have originated from the grease trap, but it was bearable and we proceeded to a table. The tavern had several big screen TVs playing with various sports channels selected. My husband had the green chili stew and LOVED it. He ordered the bowl along with a tortilla. It was a good size helping, filling, and on the spicy side. I ordered the brisket burger on biochi bun with guacamole, and a side of sweet potatoe fries. The burger was a good size and very filling; however, the brisket was VERY dry. When I mentioned this to our waitress, Laura, her comment was "that's why I gave you the bbq sauce." If I wanted bbq, I would have ordered bbq. I read the reviews from other customers, and most were very favorable. I figure that I will come back on a different night and try a different dish when we are in the area again. Also, I would recommend the Ivory Tusk Tavern because one dry brisket burger is not representative of their menu.

The food was good although most of it is fried. The service was attentive. The decor was also appropriate for a seafood restaurant.

Had to visit there. It's a little ice cream place. Nothing fancy just homey. The owner isn't afraid to try new things. Jalepeno ice cream and other ice cream with a twist. It a place where locals hangout to read and chat. Definitely somewhere to relax and cool off.

Pleasant, local popular place where you are always welcome. Home-cooking, greeted at some point while you're there by the owner. Not fancy, but great place to be. Fish buffet on Friday nights with real mashed potatoes and gravy. You will even find some paperback books to exchange.

The Restaurant at Sierra Grande is a casual dining establishment led by Chef Taffy Glenn. We offer New Mexico based Wines and Beers to go along with a variety of menu options such as Bison, Antelope, Trout and Quail.
This small but lovely dining room in the Sierra Grande Lodge was a surprise and a delight...diverse menu, beautiful presentation and affordable prices. We had both dinner and breakfast there...I recommend the pasta with a chili sauce for dinner and the lox and bagel was fresh and yummy.

There are all sorts of styles of food at Big Food, with a great outdoor area during the few days eating outside is fun in southern New Mexico. Great burgers, good fries, and several of the Americanized Asian meals are decent, too.

Rose at her second hand shop on Broadway recommended my wife and I eat breakfast while in town at the Grapevine Bistro. We found it to be a laid-back, cozy, brightly painted restaurant filled with locals and out-of-towners like us. Mario's establishment is open daily, serving breakfast and lunch. The freshly prepared breakfasts we ordered took quite a while to arrive, and my request for scrambled eggs instead of over-easy, had not been heeded, requiring sending back my huevos rancheros for a revamping. My dish, which came with black bean patties atop Hatch green Chile sauce, diced potatoes drizzled with queso fresco, crumbles of feta cheese, a few chorizo sausage morsels and topped with 2 scrambles, was worth the wait. My wife's migas,a cheesy dish with onion and corn torilla strips with crema and salsa on the side, proved a big hit. Although several types of coffee and hot tea were available, we stuck with water and walked out with a bill under $20. Not bad for a creative and tasty breakfast like we enjoyed.
